Wi-Fi in the Sky

When Tori's flight home gets delayed, she contacts Andre, Cat and Beck via Video Chat so they can work on a project that is due next day, but a series of distractions ensue.

Meanwhile, Trina sneaks into the first-class section of the plane and gets into a feud with a boy in the seat behind her.

Tropes:

  • Actually Pretty Funny: Tori and Trina are trying not to laugh at Jade when it turns out Beck's cheerleader neighbour she's been jealous of is nine years old.
    • Beck and Andre also laugh at Trina's ongoing feud with the boy behind her.
  • Ass Shove: Trina threatens the kid annoying her with this.
Trina: If you don't knock it off, I'm gonna call the flight attendant!
Trina: I wish I was a witch, because I would take my broomstick and shove it-
    Tori: Trina, sit!
  • Be as Unhelpful as Possible: Cat never contributes anything to the group project, and instead wastes time playing with the special effects.
  • Blatant Lies: Sinjin pretending he's not in Jade's house.
  • Bottle Episode: The entire episode is set on the plane, with occasional shifts to Tori's friends' homes.
  • Brain Bleach: Andre and Beck's reaction to getting an eyeful of Trina's backside when she walks in front of Tori's laptop.
    Andre: Ahhh! What was that?!
Tori: That was Trina's butt. [Andre and Beck both shudder]
  • Bratty Half-Pint: Trina has to deal with one of these who won't stop kicking her seat.
  • Cassandra Truth: Jade angrily asks why Beck didn't tell her the cheerleader he was dog sitting for was 9 years old. He replies she never asked him, which of course just makes her madder.
  • Distinction Without a Difference: Tori asks the stewardess if the plane has Wi-fi, to which she gets the answer it doesn't...but does have wireless internet access. Tori points out that's Wi-fi.
  • Dude, Not Funny!: Tori's reaction after Andre and Beck hear the little boy who's been bugging Trina tell Tori she's hotter than her sister.
Andre: So, who's your new boyfriend there?
    Tori: Not cute, Andre.
  • Failed a Spot Check: Trina finding Perez Hilton's camera and claiming he lost it and would thank her; in reality, she stole it.
  • Hypocritical Humor: After Cat leaves the video chat (see Rage Quit below), Trina insists Tori should be more considerate about other people's feelings, then whirls round to threaten the little boy behind her for kicking her seat again.
    Trina: What happened?
Tori: I made Cat cry and she signed off.
Trina: Well, you have to learn to be more careful with people's feelings. [the boy in the row behind kicks her seat] STOP KICKING MY SEAT, YOU WORTHLESS LITTLE NUB!
  • Insane Troll Logic: Jade is full of these in this episode. According to her, Beck forgetting to reply to a voicemail she left him because he's doing homework is proof he wants to break up, and the fact she didn't think to ask the age of the cheerleader he's dogsitting for is somehow Beck's fault.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Andre joking about Beck dogsitting for a cheerleader brings Jade's wrath down on him. Beck even lampshades it.
Jade: Why do you have that animal?
    Beck: It's my neighbour's dog.
    Andre: His neighbour, the cheerleader.
    Jade: CHEERLEADER?!
Beck: Why? Why would you say that?
  • No Ending: The episode ends with Trina arguing with Perez as Tori is trying to finish her project alone before they land, with no explanation.
  • Only Sane Man: Lampshaded by Tori while Beck, Andre and Cat are too busy messing around with video effects to get any work done, and Trina is trying to kill the little boy annoying her.
Tori: When did I become the mature one?
  • Precocious Crush: Implied with the little boy kicking Trina's seat.
Boy: [to Tori] Your sister's a freak...but kinda hot.
  • Rage Quit: Cat storms out of the video chat after Tori angrily snaps at her to stop wasting time with camera effects on their video chat and help with their assignment.
  • A Rare Sentence: Tori to Trina "Will you stop wiggling your butt in my friends' face?!"
  • Sarcasm-Blind: Sinjin in this exchange.
Sinjin: Are you on a plane?
Tori: Yeah, I'm on a plane.
Tori: No, Sinjin. I have the world's longest internet cable hanging out the window!
Sinjin: Nu-uh, airplane windows don't open.
  • Special Guest: Perez Hilton.
  • Tempting Fate: After circumstances make Cat, Beck and Andre drop out of the video chat, Tori notes there's still over an hour before her and Trina's plane lands, so if she types fast, she can get the script done. Then Perez Hilton shows up to demand Trina return his camera and Tori gets caught in the fracas between them.
  • There Was a Door: Jade turns up at Beck's house demanding to talk. He insists the door is locked, at which point there's a crash and Jade storms in.
    Tori: [Jade] has a key?
Beck: No, she has a foot.
  • This Is Gonna Suck: Tori's reaction to Jade requesting to join their video chat.
  • Useless Bystander Parent: The father of the Bratty Half-Pint annoying Trina only makes half-hearted efforts to get his son to stop kicking her seat and scurries off to the plane bathroom when Trina makes more heated demands that he intervene.
  • What Could Have Been: Jade's username was originally "Pain_Embracer" before being changed to "Scissorluv".
  • Would Hurt a Child: Trina gets to this point with the boy in the row behind kicking her seat.
Tori: Trina, he's a little boy!
Trina: Yeah and I'm about to put him into a little hospital!
