The campers race across the island after a baked bean breakfast, getting hunted by raptors as they do.

- Beneath the Mask: Julia finally lets hers slip and falls into her true Alpha Bitch personality when menaced by a raptor.

- Call-Back: Damien makes a campaign to get himself voted out, just like Dave did in "Hurl and Go Seek". He even made buttons with his face crossed out like Dave did.

- Irony: Damien gets eliminated at his own request just as he gains the confidence that he can survive the challenges. He lampshades this right before he is dragged off by the Drone of Despair.
- The Millstone: Ripper decides to break the world record of farting right as his team is being hunted by a raptor. He ends up giving away their position and nearly getting them killed.
- Mundane Utility: Chris somehow acquires the means to resurrect dinosaurs, and uses them for a challenge in Total Drama Island.
- Palate Propping: Zee uses his prosthetic leg to keep a raptor's mouth open before it can eat him.
- Pet the Dog: Despite her usually being snarky and devious, MK shows genuine sympathy for the raptor that Julia insulted.
- Rage Against the Reflection: The purple raptor throws a bowl of ice cream at its reflection as it sobs about what Julia said to it.
- Raptor Attack: Some inexplicably unextinct raptors hound the contestants as they make their way across the island.
- "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Julia rants to the purple raptor about its appearance and poor hygiene, topping it off with "No wonder you went extinct!" The raptor runs off in tears.
- Ship Tease: Some occurs between Damien and Priya: Damien compliments Priya as part of his plan to get her to vote for him which evokes a Luminescent Blush on her, and he's taken back by her Dying Declaration of Love before she admits she always wanted to say that.
- Spoiler Title: Although the title refers to the challenge, it might end up spoiling that Ripper is still in the competition.
- Tears of Remorse: With it being sarcastically lampshaded by Emma, Chase cries out of remorse for leaving Zee behind when a raptor was chasing both of them.
- Tempting Fate: Julia stating she thankfully skipped the beans, believing she's perfectly safe from the challenge. Queue her stepping on a twig and snapping it followed by a silent Oh, Crap! before the dinosaur finds her.
- Toilet Humor: All the contestants (except Julia, who skipped breakfast) fart repeatedly throughout the episode, which is played for humour.
- Training from Hell: Millie gets a taste of Priya's childhood when she agrees to a training exercise where she's supposed to dodge apples. Every single one hits her.
- Uncertain Doom: Overlapping with What Happened to the Mouse?. The red raptor caught in the explosion never appears again, with only the raptor which was given "The Reason You Suck" Speech by Julia appearing in future episodes. As such, it's likely that it died in the explosion. However, given the show's characters' Made of Iron status (aside from some interns and some animals), it's not certain.
- V-Sign: To celebrate the fact her team won the challenge, Julia makes a peace sign while taking a selfie (which she suggests are called "Victory Selfies" in a later episode).
- You Need a Breath Mint: When Julia has an encounter with the purple raptor that roars in her face, the first thing she insults is its breath, which "reeks of cavemen girls".
