The teams catapult themselves into targets for the most points.
Tropes:
- Bad Vibrations: The mess hall starts shaking, complete with glasses of water rippling. Millie assumes the raptors are back, but no, it's an angry Julia.
- Big Damn Kiss: Raj kisses Bowie as the latter saves him from the tapioca, much to the glee of Wayne and the tapioca shark.
- Brutish Bulls: One of the penalty pits has an angry bull.
- Call-Back: The mutant hermit crab was in the background of several shots of Revenge of the Island and All Stars.
- Disney Acid Sequence: Zee has one after he gets struck by lightning.
- Double-Meaning Title: The second part of "Stranger Flings" either refers to the challenge where the contestants have to fling themselves from catapults or Raj kissing Bowie which kickstarts their relationship.
- Emergency Cargo Dump: Julia and Zee ditch what's in their pockets (soda cans and more phones) for extra air time. Zee then ditches his prosthetic leg, allowing him to stay airborne while Julia falls.
- G-Rated Drug: Zee gets struck by lightning, causing him to go on an acid trip what somehow helps him land in the 10,000 point target.
- Giant Enemy Crab: The crab pit has one of the mutant hermit crabs in addition to dozens of angry smaller crabs.
- Golden Snitch: Late in the challenge, Chris reveals a target with the exact amount of points needed to win. Reaching it requires getting launched though a lightning storm.
- Hammered into the Ground: The mutant hermit crab does this to Chase after the challenge is over.
- I Never Said It Was Poison: Julia is able to figure out that MK must have been watching others' confessionals because the latter used her Catchphrase Insult ("butt knuckles") towards her, something Julia had only said in confessionals up until this point.
- Instant Roast: An eagle that flies to close to the lightning storm gets struck and roasted.
- Loophole Abuse: Wayne landed in the pit with the bull, on the bull itself, which rodeoed him right into the target. This counts for points, as he never touched the ground.
- Perfectly Cromulent Word: As Julia and MK argue over who lost the game for their team, MK calls Julia "Moolo" for pinning the blame on her. MK proceeds to insult her for not knowing the word only to admit that she made it up in the confessional.
- Pop-Culture Pun Episode Title: The title is a play on The Hunchback of Notre Dame.
- Psychotic Smirk: When she prepares to vote off Julia with her teammates, MK makes an evil-looking smirk.
- Saying Too Much: MK uses Julia's preferred insult, buttknuckles, before Julia ever says it in public, giving away that MK had been watching everyone's confessionals.
- Sudden Anatomy: Zee sees his hand with five fingers during his lightning trip.
- Sticky Fingers: MK has stolen multiple things from the other campers, which she planned to sell to Total Drama's more rabid fans. It causes her to lose credibility when Julia finds her bag of stolen stuff.
- Stock "Yuck!": One penalty pit is full of tapioca pudding, which Bowie calls "the evilest pudding of all."
- Swallow the Key: Wayne apparently eats things in his sleep. He coughs up some keys, a wallet, a hockey glove, and a container.
- Take That, Audience!: During the intro, Chris slips and lets out some frustrations against the Total Drama fanbase. Chef has to get him to dial it back.
- Toilet Humor: Julia gets MK eliminated by pointing out how she's seen everyone pooping. She actually hasn't, but she did have recordings of everyone in the confessional, which is their only bathroom, so everyone buys it.
- Too Awesome to Use: Bowie throws away the phone with the downloaded confessionals, mostly because it's still Julia's phone and he couldn't sneak away with it in front of her.
