On Halloween, Princess Morbucks is whipping up a potion that would give her beauty, power, and riches. The Powerpuff Girls and Mojo Jojo (dressed as a cat for trick-or-treat) intervene. When the cauldron gets upset, it spills the potion over everyone. Princess is turned into a fire-breathing ogre, Mojo into a real cat, and the girls into evil witches.

This episode contains examples of:

  • An Aesop: The little old lady who takes Princess in out of the rain tries to show her that being happy doesn't involve being beautiful, rich or powerful. At the end, Princess is about to invoke the aesop and then suddenly subverts it.
  • Arson, Murder, and Jaywalking: The ingredients that Princess puts into her Magic Cauldron for her spell are tail of lizard (“Ew.”), Eye of Newt (“Gross.”), and a can of creamed broccoli (“Repulsive!”).
  • Bait-and-Switch: When trying to figure out how to get Buttercup’s toenail, Princess realizes the spell book might help. She’s then seen opening the door to a trick-or-treating Buttercup and throwing the book at her.
  • Becoming the Costume: Mojo was wearing a cat costume when he got cursed, and so is turned into a real cat.
  • Bubblegum Popping: To get Bubbles' pigtail, Princess tricks her into a bubblegum-blowing contest. Bubbles blows a huge bubble, which then pops and leaves her stuck long enough for Princess to shave off one of her pigtails.
  • Cat Up a Tree: After the mob chases Princess, Mojo gets stuck up a tree and has trouble getting back down.
  • Cue the Rain: Princess asks how the night could get any worse. Immediately after, thunder strikes and it starts pouring.
  • Gory Discretion Shot: Princess uses a chainsaw to cut off Buttercup’s toenail while the camera focuses on Mojo watching in horror.
  • Grossup Close Up: On the toenail Princess plucks off Buttercup after knocking her out.
  • Hairball Humor: After being turned back to normal, Mojo coughs up a hairball.
  • Halloween Episode: Set around Halloween. It's is the third one of the 2016 series.
  • I Got a Rock: Bubbles is disgusted that there was a toothbrush among the candy she stole. Later we see the guy who's handing them out, just before Buttercup turns her into a miniature version of the Mayor for it.
  • Ignored Aesop: Her time as an ogre doesn’t do anything to change Princess’ attitude and she still values beauty, power, and money above all else.
Princess: I realized that inner beauty…is for chumps!
  • I'm a Humanitarian: Blossom nearly cooks Princess after temporarily capturing her under the guise of an old lady.
  • Immediate Self-Contradiction: Princess tries to convince the angry mob that she’ not a monster, but then she accidentally burps a fireball at them.
  • Mini-Me: One of the forms of Halloween Trickery Buttercup partakes in is turning everyone she comes across into a miniature clone of the Mayor.
  • Not Quite Back to Normal: After the spell is broken, Princess brags that she's beautiful again, but doesn't notice that she still has a long, slimy tail.
  • Our Ogres Are Hungrier: Princess Morebucks turns into an ogre with a pig-like snout, sharp fangs, and a dragon tail. However, her appetite doesn’t appear to have changed at all to reflect the stereotypical trait of ogres being Big Eaters/Child Eaters.
  • Pun-Based Title: The title is a play on the phrase, “witch’s brew.”
  • Rhyming Wizardry:
Princess: On this night of Halloween, greater magic ne’er be seen. Dark of sky, land, and sea, grant your power unto me!
  • Scary Teeth: The Powerpuff Girls get these after being turned into witches.
  • Shout-Out:
    • At one point, one of the trick-or-treaters asks Princess if she knows where Elm Street is.
    • After Princess and Mojo steal her broom, Blossom chases after them on a vacuum like in Hocus Pocus.
  • Stewed Alive: Blossom plans to do this to Princess.
  • Sympathetic Magic: The spell requires a physical piece of everyone who’s been affected in order to turn them all back to normal: Mojo's cat whisker, Bubbles' pigtail, Buttercup's toenail, Blossom's bow, and Princess' crown.
  • Temporarily a Villain: The Powerpuff Girls become evil witches due to the botched spell affecting them. They spend most of the episode stealing candy from the other trick-or-treaters.
  • Torches and Pitchforks: The trick-or-treaters chase Princess with torches. (She had used her fire breath to singe a couple of people.)
  • Villain Protagonist: Princess is the main focus on this one and has to undo the spell that was botched. Not so much out of the goodness of her heart, but to turn herself back to normal after she becomes an ogre. Mojo helps since he got turned into a cat from the accident.
  • Villain Teamup: Kinda, Princess and Mojo end up having to team up to collect the parts necessary for the counter-spell.
  • Vomit Discretion Shot: Mojo throws up into his helmet after witnessing Princess (off-screen) cutting off Buttercup's toenail.
  • Watch Out for That Tree!: All three of the Powerpuff Girls fly into a tree while chasing after Princess on broomsticks.
  • Wicked Witch: What the Powerpuff Girls become following the potion mishap, complete with pointy hats, Evil Laughs, and Flying Broomsticks.
  • You Do Not Want To Know: After everyone is turned back to normal, Princess still has a slimy dragon's tail on her back, which the girls and Mojo notice.
Blossom: (to her sisters and Mojo) Should we tell her?
Blossom, Bubbles, Buttercup, and Mojo: (they shrug) Nah!
