"Dad Reputation"

Luna is roped into joining Lynn Sr.'s dad band, and tries not to get spotted by her friends to save her reputation.
  • All There in the Script: Rusty's dad's first name is finally revealed to be Rodney, but the only time it's revealed is in the credits.
  • Call-Back: Luna quietly sings a snippet of "Play it Loud" at the start of the episode.
  • Camera Obscurer: Done intentionally by the Loud kids during the Doo Dads' performance in order to prevent anyone from filming the show and leaking video.
  • Cuteness Proximity: Lily weaponizes this to stop Cheryl from filming the Doo Dads' performance.
  • Fascinating Eyebrow: When Lynn Sr. lets Luna know that he realizes that she doesn't want to be seen onstage with him and his band, she responds by sheepishly and guiltily denying it. This causes her unfooled father to give her this trope.
  • Literal-Minded: Leni wonders if they should call a plumber if someone leaks a video of the performance.
  • Luminescent Blush: Luna does this when she sees Sam and their friends cheering them on during her performance with the Doo Dads.
  • Performance Anxiety: Lynn Sr. gets this right before the performance, until Luna comes on stage to help them perform.
  • Puppy-Dog Eyes: Lynn Sr. gives Luna what Luan calls "the old sad dad peepers" to convince her to join his band. Luna herself imitates his puppy eyes when Luan asks her why she can't say no to his request.

"Dream a Lily Dream"

Lisa delves into Lily's dreams to defeat her nightmares.
  • 11th-Hour Superpower: Lily forges a sword from Lynn Sr.'s ca-Lynn-mari to finish the Flip monster off. For bonus points, she forges the sword on the last hour before sunrise.
  • Acid Reflux Nightmare: When Lily tries to tell her family what her nightmares are about, Lynn Sr. assumes that she means his ca-Lynn-mari is causing them. Lisa dismisses the possibility, but does point out that the ca-Lynn-mari could do with some improvement.
  • Attack of the 50-Foot Whatever: Lily's final nightmare is a gigantic Flip.
  • BFS: The sword Lily uses to defeat the Flip monster is noticeably taller than her. Then again, this is a dream.
  • Big Ball of Violence: The siblings get into one as they argue for who gets to go inside Lily's nightmares. Lisa seems to have a warning for when this happens as she has an alarm that exclaims, "Fight cloud alert!"
  • The Bus Came Back: Trashy, last seen in "Chore and Peace", makes a comeback four seasons later.
  • Call-Back: Lily's nightmares are revealed to be caused by Lisa's various experiments, with the ones shown in her nightmares being Trashy from "Chore and Peace", Tentacle from "No Guts, No Glori" and Lisa's studies of Flip from "Blinded by Science," especially his twin butt cracks.
  • Chekhov's Gun: The ca-Lynn-mari Lynn Sr. gives to Lisa, which Lily transforms into a sword to defeat the Flip monster.
  • Cordon Bleugh Chef: Lynn Sr.'s ca-Lynn-mari is hated by the entire family.
  • Face Your Fears: Lily stands up to the Flip nightmare in order to save Lisa after spending most of the episode afraid of her other nightmares and needing her siblings to defeat them for her.
  • Fartillery: After swallowing the milk the Loud kids fired at him, Flip lets out a fart strong enough to send all six Louds into the bushes.
  • Foreshadowing:
    • When Lisa realizes that she might be the cause of Lily's nightmares, she remarks it's a good thing Lily didn't see her research on Flip's DNA. Guess who Lily's final nightmare is about.
    • Related to this, Lily also cringes at the mention of Flip's twin butt cracks, implying that she did get a look at them…
  • Homage: To Inception.
  • Journey to the Center of the Mind: Lisa, Lincoln, Lynn, Lola and Leni go inside Lily's subconsciousness to personally deal with Lily's nightmares.
  • Little Sister Instinct: When the Flip monster endangers Lisa, Lily finishes it off to save her.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: Lisa has this reaction when she realizes her experiments were most likely the cause of Lily's nightmares.
  • Never Say "Die": Lisa refers to death as "getting taken out."
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: The Louds take out Nightmare-Flip with warm milk, but realize afterwards Flip is lactose intolerant. Cue Flip unleashing a titanic fart.
  • Now You Tell Me: Said almost word for word by Lincoln when Lisa tells them at the last second that they could get trapped in Lily's dream forever if Lily wakes up too soon. And again when Lisa explains, while they are already in the dream, that if anyone gets taken out in the nightmare, they're taken out in real life.
  • Running Gag:
    • One of the Louds violently taking out a noisemaker to keep Lily sleeping and promptly falling asleep in the shrubs after doing so.
    • Lisa mentioning new rules of the dream world, much to Lincoln's exasperation.
  • Shout-Out: Lily's sword strongly resembles the Buster Sword.
  • Single-Stroke Battle: Lily defeats the Flip monster with a single stroke from her sword. Granted, the monster was already weakened from the other five Louds shooting it with milk.
  • Sleep Deprivation: The whole Loud family suffers from this because Lily's nightmares and subsequent crying keep them awake.
  • Suddenly Fluent in Gibberish: Leni is revealed to be fluent in baby language, which is why Lisa selects her to be part of her squad to fight Lily's nightmares.
  • Surprisingly Realistic Outcome: No matter how much Lisa intends to shield Lily from her monstrous experiments, a baby having a Mad Scientist as a roommate will inevitably get nightmares from the things they do.
  • Tears of Fear: The episode begins with Lily waking up bawling from her nightmares.
  • Warm Milk Helps You Sleep: The Louds bring water guns filled with warm milk with them as weapons. Lisa calls it "A nightmare's worst nightmare" and it successfully puts several nightmare creatures, including the giant Flip, to sleep, though on Flip, it only works temporarily as he's lactose intolerant.
  • You Leave Him Alone!: More like "You Leave Her Alone", with Lily saying this to the Flip monster before finishing him off.
  • Your Mind Makes It Real: Lisa explains that if anyone gets taken out in the nightmare, they're taken out in real life.
