Recap / The Loud House S 5 E 17 Camped

Go To

When Lynn Sr.'s childhood camp is about to close, the Louds embark on a mission to find Captain Kitt's treasure to save it.

Tropes:

  • Achievements in Ignorance: Leni opens up a chasm leading deeper into the cave just because she finds a skeleton's appearance not that fashionable.
  • All for Nothing: Subverted. When the Louds return to camp with the treasure, Mr. Rinsler turns down the offer of using it to keep the camp open, as he’s decided to retire to Florida. Fortunately for the Louds, Granddad Leonard uses the treasure to buy the camp, thus becoming its new owner.
  • Gasshole: Lynn farts in Vanzilla after being dared to drink a whole bottle of hot sauce. Lynn's fart was enough to make a moose's fur fall off.
  • Fan Disservice: While Lincoln and Lynn Sr. are in the office helping pack up, Lincoln gets disgusted when he finds a picture of Mr. Rinsler posing on a calendar.
  • Like Father, Like Son: Leonard Loud, like his son Lynn Sr., has been known to do silly dances and get emotional at times. Lampshaded by Luna and Lynn Jr. towards the end of the episode.
  • Loud Gulp: Pun not intended. All of the Louds, sans Lucy, gulp when they see the skull-shaped cave.
  • Mama Bear: When the Louds encounter a mother wolverine in the cave, Rita snarls at it to make it go away.
  • Misplaced Wildlife: The aforementioned wolverines, which haven’t lived in Michigan since the 1860s.
  • Noodle Incident: On one occasion, Lynn Sr. forgot his and Rita's anniversary.
  • Ocular Gushers: Lynn Sr. at the start of the episode, when he learns Camp Mastodon is closing down.
  • Red Herring: Lisa guesses that the shadowy figure following them is Flip, since he overheard them talking about finding Captain Kitt's treasure, but it turns out that it was Granddad Loud the whole time. Then it gets subverted, as Flip shows up at the end and implies that he was following the Louds, but was almost killed by the wolverine.
  • Saving the Orphanage: The Louds hunt for Captain Kitt's treasure so that they can use it to save the camp.
  • Scary Stinging Swarm: At one point, Lana finds a hornet's nest.
  • Tasty Gold: Lola bites into a doubloon to check if it's real twice. The first time it's fake, the second time it's real.
  • Travel Montage: As the Louds make their way to Camp Mastodon. It's interrupted when Lynn farts in the car.
  • Treasure Map: Captain Kitt's treasure map.
  • Whole-Plot Reference: To The Goonies.
