Recap / The Loud House S 4 E 13 Kings Of The Con

Go To

Eager to be named Kings of the Con at the Ace Savvy convention, Lincoln and Clyde convince the sisters to go with them as the Full Deck. But the girls get more attention, leading the boys to do whatever it takes to gain focus.

"Kings of the Con"

  • Bittersweet Ending: Lincoln and Clyde are disqualified, but are happy for the sisters, who get to be in the movie themselves. However, they're given a part... as cat pooper scoopers.
  • Cats Are Mean: The aptly (yet ironically) named Kitty is a dangerous foe in the Ace Savvy comic book. The con cat that's stunt-trained to imitate Kitty is all the same kind of viciousness.
  • Call-Back: The sisters dress up as the Full Deck, who were introduced in "Pulp Friction" as part of a comic that Lincoln and Clyde wrote.
  • Calling Your Attacks: Lucy (as the Eight of Spades) does this, similarly to her Saying Sound Effects Out Loud:
    Lucy: (throws an arrow) Throw.
  • Cuteness Proximity: What was about to seemingly be an epic battle between the stunt Kitty and Lana (as the Royal Flush) is tossed aside once this kicks in for Lana and she immediately attempts to hug the cat.
  • Draco in Leather Pants: In-universe example. Even after the Full Deck recaptures the dangerous stunt Kitty, Lana still sees no issues with the cat and wants to set it free from its cage. Everyone calls her out for this.
  • Dung Fu: The stunt Kitty is recaptured by The Full Deck after he's pelted by an assault of dirty diapers from Lily (as the Deuce).
  • Hairball Humor: The stunt Kitty is capable of spitting loads upon loads of hairballs at its enemies.
  • Hate Sink: The judges, due to their stuck-up personality and ignoring of Lincoln and Clyde.
  • Hope Spot: How the episode ends. When it looks like that Lincoln and Clyde will be able to be featured in the movie after all, it only turns out to be as cat pooper scoopers.
  • Hurricane of Puns: Luan, as always. She is fittingly the Joker of the Full Deck:
Luan: The Joker will save you from this cat-astrophe! Haha!
  • Hypocritical Heartwarming:
    • Lola (as the Queen of Diamonds) reacts this way when the stunt Kitty attacks her twin sister Lana (as The Royal Flush):
Lola: Nobody donkey kicks Lana but me!
    • When Lynn tries the "Test Your Strength" Game, she says that "[she'll] teach the game for [comparing Lincoln's strength to that of an old maid]", but right before that, she calls him "Stinkin" anyway.
  • Impact Silhouette: Luna (as the Night Club) leaves one in a wall of the house the first time she loses control of jetpack.
  • Jerkass: The judges for being so unforgiving towards Lincoln and Clyde for accidental mishaps and for not even giving them proper credit for the girls' Full Deck characters being their brother's original idea.
  • Killer Rabbit: The Kitty is known to be one of the most dangerous foes Ace Savvy has ever faced. The convention has a stunt cat that's just as vicious and deadly as the Kitty, itself.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: Lincoln and Clyde attempt to kidnap a cat and later claim they found him to look like heroes and get in the Ace Savvy movie. This ends with the cat trapping them, leading to the sisters saving them, and them being disqualified when they reveal their scheme.
  • Running Gag: Luna blasting off with her jetpack by accident and screaming as she dashes out of sight.
  • "Test Your Strength" Game: One of Lincoln's attempts to win the judges over is by playing the Hammer of Justice game. When he tries it, he only gets up to The Old Maid. Then Lynn (as the Strong Suit) tries it and manages to get the weight and the bell through the convention center's roof.
  • Villain Protagonist: Lincoln and Clyde are the main characters of this episode, but the issues that occur in this episode are because of their own intentional actions. Granted, they have very little malice. They want to be the Kings of the Con over the sisters, but their final attempt of achieving this involves kidnapping a cat, and then staging their own rescue of that cat in order to get the con judges' approval.
  • Yank the Dog's Chain: Although Lincoln and Clyde were disqualified, they still get to be a part of the movieā€¦ as cat pooper scoopers.
