The entire town of Lone Moose is determined to win the annual Cavalcade of Ships parade against the other towns. Wolf uncovers a parade secret that makes him understand why their town never wins: All of the previous winners are very attractive. Wolf and Honeybee plan on trying to find the most handsome man in town to be the captain. Meanwhile, Ham and Crispin are the boat boys of the parade and they have to learn how to stay in sync during the walk.

Tropes:

  • Ambiguously Bi: Wolf openly ogles and reacts to every attractive person on the newspaper clippings about past winners calling them hunks and smoke shows. Wolf ponders making the attractive male wooden statue "functional" before he is shut down by his wife and father.
  • An Aesop: Ham and Crispin learn that it is okay for couples to not be in sync.
  • Black Comedy: Part of the reason morale is down in Lone Moose is because the Christmas before, what everyone in town thought was skywriting was actually a plane crashing.
  • Bread, Eggs, Milk, Squick: Morale is down in Lone Moose because somebody graffitied a Smurf in the town's overpass, someone left a washing machine in the river, and during Christmas, when what everybody thought was skywriting, it turned out to be a plane crash.
  • Call-Back:
    • Toby the Eagle is the council "person" who chooses the Tobin’s boat to represent the town at the City Hall meeting.
    • Wolf's library fines are mentioned again. The mayor mentioned that Wolf owes thousands in fines.
  • Companion Cube: Archie Scrimm loves to create Statues of Men and Women to be a companion to people on their ships. He can even make "functional" companions. He is also married to one of his creations.
  • Couch Gag:
  • Distinction Without a Difference: At the beginning of the episode, everyone at the City Hall meeting boos when Mayor Pepper mentions the nearest towns:
Honeybee: Wow, you guys all really hate other towns.
    Beef: We don’t hate them.
Ham: We just don’t like them at all.
Judy: Yeah… And we hate them.
    Beef: Yes. We hate them.
  • Freeze-Frame Bonus:
    • The yeti can be spotted with its arm leaning against a purple building on the left side of the screen near the end of the episode when Wolf is about to drop off a boutique of roses for Todd.
    • The Wimbleton Parade Boat has a Patriotic Theme with a Giant Washington Head. The Ted's Folly Parade Boat is Tennis themed with a Giant Ball and Racket. The Deathcliff Parade Boat is simply lined with balloons, as if no effort was placed on its decoration, affirming Wolf's suspicion that only the most attractive captains win the Cavalcade.
  • Murder Is the Best Solution: During the town meeting, Santiago suggests they attack Death Cliff and kill Randy Jammers in order to win the Cavalcade of Ships, which everyone agrees to until Honeybee talks them out of it.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: While it's nice that Ham and Crispin learned that they don't always have to be in sync with each other to be a good couple, they did it at the worst possible time. When they decide to walk at different paces, they forgot that Beef is moving the boat at their pace, and when Beef moves his boat faster, he accidentally causes Todd to fall overboard and break in half.
  • Pop-Culture Pun Episode Title: The title is a pun off of GoodFellas.
  • Rousing Speech: After Death Cliff wins the Cavalcade again and Randy Jammers is about to give his speech, Wolf interrupts him and gives a speech to the people of Lone Moose of how while Todd was just a wood sculpture used to win the contest, it gave hope to everyone and the fact that everyone went along with it shows how great their town is.
  • Serious Business: Despite the fact the prize for winning the Cavalcade of Ships is just a plaque that said "Best Boat Town", the people of Lone Moose really wants that plaque despite Honeybee pointing out it's a silly contest with a meaningless prize. Although it's justified to them because they need the plaque to help boost town morale after having a hard year.
  • Shout-Out: Wolf mentions he always wanted to save a town, ideally through dancing.
  • Small Town Boredom: The Mayor explains that living in Alaska is boring and rivalries are fun.
  • Suspiciously Specific Denial: This happens during the day of the Cavalcade.
Mayor Peppers: Now where is that wooden wonder Todd?
Wolf: He's uhhh resting, but don't worry he's still hot and nothing bad has happened to him.
Mayor Peppers: Okay, the way you're saying that makes it sound like something bad has happened.

Lone Moose: Best Boat Town

After Death Cliff wins the Cavalcade again and Randy Jammers is about to give his speech, Wolf interrupts him and gives a speech to the people of Lone Moose of how while Todd was just a wood sculpture used to win the contest, it gave hope to everyone and the fact that everyone went along with it shows how great their town is.

How well does it match the trope?
