Recap / The Casagrandes S 2 E 15 Just Be Coo Teed Off

Go To

Just Be Coo: When Sancho gets himself into trouble in the city, Sergio helps him become a model pet.

Tee'd Off: Worried that Lori may have a new crush, Bobby visits her in college and tries to impress her with his golf skills.

"Just Be Coo" provides examples of:

  • Caught on Tape: The Mercado's security footage proves that Marcus the animal wrangler was responsible for "pooping" on the statue and the so-called poop was really pistachio ice cream. Ronnie Anne threatens to post the video on Jim Sparkletooth's website unless Marcus agreed to free the pigeons and Sergio and Lalo, at which point Marcus breaks down and confesses.
  • Crying Critters: Sergio imagines Sancho crying Ocular Gushers while in the pound.
  • Diabolical Dog Catcher: Marcus the animal wrangler treats Sancho like a wanted criminal for pooping on a statue, when really he, Marcus, just covered it in pistachio ice cream.
  • Foreshadowing: Just before Marcus reveals himself to announce his intention of capturing Sancho, he is shown holding a tub of pistachio ice cream (which has a similar color scheme to the material on the statue), which hints that he was the one responsible for vandalizing the statue in an attempt to frame the birds for pooping on it.
  • Frame-Up: Ronnie Anne, Lalo, and Sergio learn that Marcus the animal catcher has framed the pigeons for pooping on a statue by covering it in pistachio ice cream. The Mercado's security footage captured everything on videotape.
  • Freudian Excuse: When Marcus breaks down and confesses that he framed the pigeons and captured Sergio and Lalo for learning the truth after seeing the Mercado's security footage of him doing it, with Ronnie Anne threatening to post it online unless he freed them, he admits the reason for doing so is because he wasn't invited to the pigeons' parties.
  • Imagine Spot: Sergio has several of them where Sancho is languishing in the pound.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: After the aforementioned imagine spots, Sergio immediately begins to regret getting rid of Sancho.
  • Paper-Thin Disguise: After Sancho's lack of social graces nearly get him spotted by the Casagrandes, Sergio sends him out with a baseball cap on his head, claiming that no one will recognize him that way. It doesn't work, and Sancho is sent to the pound. Jim Snaggletooth's comment says it all:
"Did he really think that would work?"
  • Pounds Are Animal Prisons: Sergio imagines the pound to be like this, and from what we see of it, he's not that far off; the pigeons are wearing miniature ball-and-chains, and Marcus says that the animals have to "serve their time" as if they have a fixed sentence.
  • Temporary Bulk Change: Sergio gets fatter after eating all the food he intended for Sancho as a distraction for Hector while Sancho is rutting through the trash looking for garbage to eat.
  • Throw the Dog a Bone: After Marcus breaks down and confesses that he framed the pigeons and captured Sergio and Lalo for learning the truth, Sergio takes pity on him and invites him to the party.

"Tee'd Off" provides examples of:

  • Accidental Misnaming: Ewan calls Bobby "Poo-Poo Bear," mispronouncing Lori's Affectionate Nickname for Bobby "Boo-Boo Bear."
  • All for Nothing: Bobby, Carl and Sergio's attempts to make Ewan look bad in front of Lori were ultimately this—not only were Ewan and Lori never romantically interested in each other in the first place, it turns out that Ewan was already in a relationship with someone else.
  • Covered in Kisses: Happens to Bobby when Lori kisses him after he (seemingly) beats Ewan.
  • Dick Dastardly Stops to Cheat: Carl and Sergio give Bobby the idea of cheating to beat Ewan at his own game. However, when Ewan reveals that he's actually already in a relationship, Bobby in turn confesses that he cheated.
  • Evil Laugh: Bobby, of all people, pulls one off as he challenges Ewan to a golfing duel.
  • Facepalm: Bobby, Carl, and Sergio do this when their efforts to make Ewan look bad fail.
  • Graceful Loser: After Bobby seemingly wins the golf tournament, Ewan admits defeat, resolves to work at his father's toilet repair company, and hopes to be closer to his fiancĂ©e. This (particularly the last part) guilts into Bobby admitting that he cheated to win.
  • Green-Eyed Monster / Mistaken for Cheating: After arriving after Fairway University (Lori's school), Bobby notices that she seems to be spending a lot of time with a fellow golfer named Ewan—this not only makes Bobby jealous, but he also gets worried that Lori might end up leaving him for Ewan.
  • Gum In Hair: In an attempt to make Ewan look bad, Bobby, Carl, and Sergio chew some bubble gum and, after blowing a massive bubble, stick it in his hair. He manages to shave it off, leaving his hair none the worse for wear.
  • Inelegant Blubbering: Bobby imagines himself in a fit of very undignified tears as he watches Lori marry Ewan.
  • Malicious Misnaming: In response to Ewan's Accidental Misnaming, Bobby calls him "Urine."
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Even after the aforementioned Gum In Hair incident, Bobby, Carl, and Sergio try to make Ewan look bad by putting itching powder in his clothes. It does make Ewan itch, but he still manages to solve a complex equation before the other students.
  • Oblivious Guilt Slinging: Besides Ewan being a Graceful Loser and stating that he is already engaged, Lori congratulates Bobby on his golf skills and wants him on her team. But this makes Bobby feel guilty about cheating to win.
