Maybe DON'T do that voodoo you do.

Crypt Keeper: (wearing shades and lounging under a sun lamp) Ahh! Welcome to my cozy Crypt! Have I got a story for you! A tacky, tropical tale of love and lust, greed and ghouls, and my personal favorite - death! (quietly cackles) But I'm warning you, it's not a pretty picture. So, pack up your passport, and prepare for this torrid tale of putrefaction in paradise. I'm sure you'll find it... a-peeling! (cackles)

Logan Andrews (D. W. Moffet), a morally bankrupt landowner on a tropical island, meets the wealthy but all-around unpleasant Margaret Richardson (Pamela Gien) and falls in love with her, largely because he wants her wealth to finance the construction of a new hotel. He goes to Psyche (Janet Hubert), a voodoo priestess he briefly dated, then dumped after facing ridicule from his fellow elite and buying the land her tribe once lived on, for a solution to his plight. The selfish landowner not-so-subtly asks her for help, prompting Psyche to reluctantly give him a love potion. She tells him: "You give her one drop, she become your wife. But if you give her two, she be yours... for life." Evidently not understanding the implications of these instructions, Logan puts a drop of the potion in Margaret's drink, but the effect is not immediate. Hours later, Margaret comes to Logan's bedroom, where the two of them spend the night passionately making love. The next morning, Logan gives Margaret another dose of the love potion, knowing that she and her money will be his for life. In the meantime, Psyche makes an effigy of Margaret and uses it to kill her via a voodoo ritual. Before dying, Margaret triumphantly professes her undying love for Logan.

Margaret is buried the next day, but she returns to life and crawls out of her grave, much to Logan's delight. Margaret slowly decomposes and deteriorates overtime, but her love is undying and forever, much to Logan's growing horror and disgust. When calling his doctor partner Freddy (Aubrey Morris) to discuss what went wrong with Margaret and why she's still around, Margaret chops Freddy's head off (presumably under Psyche's influence) with a machete. Logan tries to shoot Margaret, but she proves immune to the bullets. The chase between the pair reaches the swamp Logan had bought earlier, where Logan sets Margaret on fire and throws her into the quicksand. As he wearily returns to the house, Margaret, now moldy and skeletal, breaks the door down. At the end of his rope, Logan tries to kill himself by drinking a vial of poison, but he is later revived by Psyche, who reveals that she engineered everything about his scheme against him as revenge for losing her land and being tossed aside. She presents him with Freddy's severed head, also brought back to life, and then brings in the skeletonized Margaret, who prepares to gruesomely kiss the screaming Logan.

Tropes:

  • Be Careful What You Wish For: As per Psyche's warning: "You give her one drop, she become your wife. But if you give her two, she be yours... for life." Logan has no idea how truthful these words are until after he breaches the warning, leaving him stuck with an animate rotting corpse who never leaves him alone.
  • Black Gal on White Guy Drama: Logan dumped Psyche in response to the ridicule he faced from his rich associates, prompting her to concoct an elaborate revenge scheme to get the last laugh.
  • Bookends: The beginning and end of the episode occur in Psyche's village, during a voodoo ceremony.
  • Chekhov's Gun: The quicksand Logan's new land is full of, which unfortunately doesn't help him.
  • Death of Personality: After overdosing on the love potion, Margaret's original stuffy, haughty, racist personality is completely overridden, and she becomes a literal sickening sweetheart deadset on continuously making love to Logan.
  • Delayed Reaction: When Margaret first ingests the love potion, she claims to feel warm, but quickly slaps Logan across the face when he forces himself on her. The potion fully kicks in later that night, where she meets Logan in bed and slips between the sheets herself.
  • The Dog Bites Back: Knowing full well that Logan won't listen to her, Psyche engineers everything that goes wrong for him as revenge for her being tossed aside and having her people's land bought out from under them.
  • Driven to Suicide: After failing to escape Margaret's corpse, Logan tries to take the easy way out by drinking a vial of poison. It fails when Psyche revives him.
  • Dying Declaration of Love: Before Margaret overdoses on the love potion, she loudly declares that she'll always love Logan forever.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: Before her personality transformation, Logan couldn't stand how uptight and bitchy Margaret acts at the party and when they're alone together.
  • Everybody Lives: Logan, Freddy, and Margaret die, but they're all resurrected by the end of the episode.
  • Foreshadowing: Psyche tosses a picture of Logan, her ex-boyfriend, into the ceremonial fire her tribe builds in the opening scene, hinting that she's going to be the reason why everything goes south for him.
  • Gold Digger: Logan hopes to become Margaret's lover so he can use her money to finance the construction of his dream hotel.
  • Hate Sink: Before her Death of Personality, Margaret is a haughty and stuffy woman who does nothing but complain about the island and its people, as well as Logan himself. It can be seen as, at the very least, a partial relief when her original self is erased from the love potion.
  • Hollywood Voodoo: Psyche is a voodoo priestess who can make Love Potions that work (even from beyond the grave) and raise zombies.
  • Ignored Expert: Noah, the worker whose friend Charlie sinks in the quicksand that fills Logan's new land. In spite of Logan's threats, the guy clearly tells him that a hotel just can't be built on a swamp, and even if it could, it would take "more money than God" to fund.
  • Ironic Echo: Freddy's advice to Logan of how he'll "always get ahead", after his severed head is brought back to life.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: Every character who isn't a native of the island is punished for their misdeeds. Freddy (a fraudulent doctor who killed his patients) gets decapitated, Margaret (a snobbish and racist Ice Queen) is rendered an undead, love-obsessed zombie, and Logan (who manipulated everyone around him for his own benefit and used a potion to brainwash Margaret into loving him) is permanently stuck in an unwanted relationship with a reanimated corpse.
  • Love Potion: Psyche provides Logan with a love potion that will enable him to secure Margaret's affection. She tells him that one drop will have her marry him, but two drops will render her his forever. Since Logan doesn't fully understand the implications of these instructions, Margaret is ultimately rendered an animate, lovesick corpse.
  • Machete Mayhem: The zombified Margaret uses a machete to chop off Freddy's head, presumably under the influence of Psyche so Logan's trusted partner won't be able to help him.
  • Making Love in All the Wrong Places: Logan and the freshly resurrected Margaret have sex atop her grave.
  • Man on Fire: During their struggle in the swamp, Logan kicks Margaret onto an oil lantern, causing her dress to catch fire.
  • Morally Ambiguous Doctorate: Logan's partner Freddy is a British doctor who was known to intentionally let wealthy and important patients die in England, and presumably fled to the tropics to avoid being arrested and convicted. He continues his shady dealings by letting the rich and sick on the island die off, sickly people die, bringing their medical documents for Logan to turn into cash.
  • Off with His Head!: Margaret, presumably under Psyche's direction, chops off Freddy's head to keep him from helping Logan. Psyche later acquires his head and brings him back to life.
  • Quicksand Sucks: Logan loses one of his workers (and his hat) to the swampy quicksand that covers most of the land he just bought. While trying to escape from Margaret, he blunders into the same quicksand and starts being sucked down under, only for Margaret to pull him out. After setting her on fire, he shoves her into the quicksand and watches as she vanishes beneath the surface. Logan thinks he's seen the last of her, but she manages to escape.
  • Rich Bitch: Margaret Richardson, who Logan describes as "a bitch on wheels." She does nothing but complain about how primitive and unpleasant the tropical locale is, and even after being enchanted to fall in love with Logan, she demands he fire his staff and employ more presentable servants. It's actually a relief when her original personality is completely erased through the love potion.
  • Rise from Your Grave: When the Love Potion restores Margaret to life, her hand bursts through her grave as Logan kneels beside it. She then crawls out of the grave and immediately pulls him into a passionate embrace.
  • Shout-Out: Psyche utters the name "Damballa" as she performs the ritual that kills Margaret.
  • Skewed Priorities: Margaret is more concerned with breaking a nail after she chops Freddy's head off, and also complains about Logan putting holes in her new dress instead of the fact he just shot her.
  • Villain Protagonist: Logan, who wants the equally loathsome Margaret's funds to finance his new hotel.
  • Visual Pun: When Margaret is set on fire, she tells Logan that she's "burning with desire".
  • Voodoo Doll: Psyche uses a pair of them to orchestrate her revenge on Logan, starting off by killing Margaret via an occult ritual.
  • Wham Line: Logan being informed that there's no way Margaret could still be alive, because Freddy had her embalmed.
  • Woman Scorned: Logan and Psyche dated for a short time, but he quickly kicked her to the curb when his rich friends weren't happy with him for having a native for a girlfriend. After buying the land her people lived on, she engineers the events of the episode as revenge on Logan for all the trouble he put her through.
  • World of Jerkass: Logan, Freddy, and Margaret (pre-love potion) are all utterly horrible people.

Crypt Keeper: Well, Psyche can work that old black magic on me anytime she wants. And how about Maggie? Girls like that are pretty hard to dig up. (cackles) Anyway, looks like poor old Logan's got himself... a zombie! I think I'll have one, too. (holds up a tropical drink)
