Chibi-Usa and Ikuko's quick run for lemons to make a new pie for Usagi gets rudely interrupted by Hawk's Eye who wants to take a turn in targeting the latter for her beautiful dream. As the battle to protect her grandmother's dream turns desperate, Chibi-Usa calls onto Pegasus who upgrades hers and Sailor Moon's power levels.
Tropes in this episode include:
- Blatant Lies: Usagi warns her mother that she read in a magazine that spoiling a child can be dangerous to a marriage. But Ikuko retorts that Usagi never reads.
- The Cavalry: The Inner Guardians plus Tuxedo Mask show up to support Moon and Chibi Moon.
- Chekhov's Gun: Near the beginning, Pegasus tells Chibi-Usa that she has to call on him if she ever needs his help. And in the climax with everyone weakened and Ikuko being seconds away from being murdered, she resorts to calling on him for help.
- Comically Missing the Point: Do Kanko isn't amused to see the heroes evade her strikes.Do Kanko: Why do you people keep dodging?!
Sailor Mars: (Beat) Do you really have to ask that? - "Everybody Laughs" Ending: Along with enjoying a fresh batch of Ikuko's pies, everyone laughs at Chibi-Usa saying that she'll blame Usagi for eating Kenji and Shingo's pieces.
- Finishing Move: Super Sailor Moon's new finisher for the season is called Moon Gorgeous Meditation which involves using her kaleidoscope to summon a burst of light that can shatter any enemy.
- Funetik Aksent: The Cloverway dub gives the Remless a Joisey dialect, while the Viz Dub has Do Kanko speak with a funny German accent.
- Goal in Life: Ikuko's dream is to see her family grow as the years come along with seeing Usagi and Chibi-Usa in wedding dresses and walking down the aisle.
- Has a Type: Contrary to Tiger's Eye who attacks young women, Hawk's Eye prefers older women believing them to be more vulnerable and easy to target.
- Honorary Uncle: Chibi-Usa thinks of Ikuko as her second mother and vows to protect her from the likes of Hawk's Eye.
- Human Cannonball: Hawk's Eye summons Do Kanko, a Lemures who launches herself at the Sailor Guardians creating explosive impacts. She even comes with her own cannon.
- I Have No Daughter!: Played for Laughs. After hearing Usagi rant about Chibi-Usa stealing her food on countless occasions, Rei snarks that she would disown her if she was Usagi's mother.
- It's All About Me: Usagi throws a temper tantrum over Chibi-Usa stealing her designated pie piece. And later she complains to her mom and her friends over the Chibi-Usa stealing her snacks.
- Jerkass Realization: After Usagi runs off, Chibi-Usa starts to feel bad about teasing her and decides to make up for it with the help of Ikuko.
- Large Ham: Hawk's Eye does not hold back in pretending to be a lost boy looking for his mommy.
- Long-Lost Relative: Hawk's Eye pretends to be a young man who was separated from his mother who just so happens to look like Ikuko.
- Mistaken for Cheating: Usagi's response to seeing her mother being touched by the pink-haired stranger is to accuse her of adultery.
- Next Tier Power-Up: Pegasus officially upgrades Moon and Chibi Moon's brooches so they can unlock their Super forms. He also turns their weapons into the Kaleido-Moon-Scope and the Crystal Carillon.
- No-Sell:
- The Cannonball Lemure's armor makes her impervious to Jupiter's Sparkling Wide Pressure.
- Hawk's Eye is able to neutralize Moon Spiral Heart Attack using only his hand.
- Playing with Fire: Hawk's Eye uses a torch to blow an inferno straight at Moon and Chibi Moon.
- Running Away to Cry: Usagi runs out of the house after her mom tells her to stop making a deal about her stolen pie.
- This Is Gonna Suck: Ikuko's photo of Usagi's first day of school shows her making a face demonstrating she knows the next several years are gonna be torture for her.Ikuko (Cloverway): This one here is the first day she went to school. Long before she called it the halls of torture.
- Transformation Sequence: Moon and Chibi Moon get a combo transformation sequence after they call out "Moon Crisis Make Up!" ("Moon Cosmic Dream Action" in the Cloverway dub).
- Visual Pun: One of Ikuko's photos has Usagi in a kindergarten play while dressed as a bunny. A bunny dressed as a bunny.
- Wounded Gazelle Gambit: Hawk's Eye pretends to pass out from hunger in order to trick Chibi-Usa into going out to buy a rutabaga leaving Ikuko alone for easy picking.
- Yank the Dog's Chain: Chibi-Usa entices Usagi with the remainder of her lemon meringue pie, only to snatch it away before Usagi can eat it.
- You Are Fat: Near the end, Usagi tries to get Chibi-Usa to give her her pie saying that she's in the middle of a growth spurt.Chibi-Usa: By that do you mean you're getting wider?
