With the threat of Lloyd and his tribe of Hypnobrai, the ninja are on high alert and training harder then ever. After an altercation with the other ninja, Zane spots a strange falcon and follows it into the woods and to Lloyd's in-construction tree house fortress.
The stakes are raised when the team starts their assault. Cole's hypnotism is revealed and the ninja are forced to face their leader. However, Sensei Wu manages to cure Cole's hypnotism with a magic flute, but the Monastery is unguarded. When they return, the Monastery is destroyed and the staff has been retaken.
Meanwhile, the Hypnobrai second-in-command, Skales, puts his scheme to take control of the tribe into action, challenging General Slithraa to a duel, which he wins. Skales subsequently banishes Lloyd, but not before Lloyd steals a map to the other Serpentine tribes.
This episode introduces Zane's falcon and Destiny's Bounty.

- Bait-and-Switch/Call-Back: Like the previous episode, this episode opens with Sensei Wu being disturbed by battle cries. He goes to check the game room where he found the ninja in the previous episode, only to find that this time, they're actually training in the courtyard.
- Cool Ship: The Destiny's Bounty, which becomes the Ninja's base of operations for pretty much the rest of the series.
- Doomed Hometown: The Ninjas' Monastery is burned down by the Hypnobrai.
- Evil Is Not a Toy: Lloyd is betrayed by the Hypnobrai and forced to flee as the Hypnobrai develop their own plans.
- Fighting Your Friend: Skales takes control of Cole and uses him to attack the other Ninja.
- Ninja Looting: Lloyd steals a map to the location of the other Serpentine tribes.
- No-Sell: Jay hits a hypnotized Cole with a powerful lightning blast to make him snap out of the hypnotism. It doesn't work.
- Skewed Priorities: When the Monastery is burned down, Jay's main concern is that he lost all his high scores.
- The Starscream: Skales usurps control of the Hypnobrai from Slithraa and exiles Lloyd.
- Stock Scream: A Wilhelm scream is heard as a Hypnobrai falls from Lloyd's fortress.
- Underside Ride: Cole hitches a ride to the top of Lloyd's treetop fortress on the underside of an elevator.
- What the Heck, Hero?: The ninja all initially blame Zane for the Monastery burning down. Wu has to correct them that it was no one's fault.
- "You!" Exclamation: Skales when he sees Cole. He then follows it up by putting the ninja under his control.
