The arrival of the original Destiny's Bounty gives Lloyd and his students a lead on the whereabouts of Kai, only to find themselves in a fight between the inhabitants of the Realm of Madness and dragons.
Tropes:
- Bullet-Proof Fashion Plate: Despite whatever it is that's happened to her since the Merge, Nya's ninja outfit is still completely intact.
- The Bus Came Back: Kai returns for the first time outside flashbacks, and brings Nya with him.
- Fantastic Racism: Craglins have a beef with dragons, what with their eating the very stuff the craglins need to stay alive. Even tiny little Riyu is no exception, though his helping to solve things patches the situation up.
- Funny Background Event: Lloyd and Nya talk about the apparently still-missing Kai as his screams of panic echo out. It takes them a moment to realize they can actually hear Kai screaming.
- Hypocritical Humor: Once again, Lloyd grumbles that the ninja would never have done something like Arin and Sora have, only to admit that, yeah, they would and did.
- I Ate WHAT?!: Subverted, when the Craglings mention their sacred burial grounds, Arin, Sora, and Lloyd think that they've been using the mud from there for their lime soup, only for Nya to clarify that this isn't the case.
- I'll Kill You!: Despite having been worried for Kai's safety, on seeing him being chased by dragons, inadvertently bringing them down on everyone's head, Nya shouts that she's going to kill him herself.
- It's a Long Story: Nya refuses to divulge what happened to her after the Merge, only saying it's several long stories, and that she spent her time walking back to the monastery.
- It's a Small World, After All: It's not made entirely clear how far the distance between the Kingdom of Madness and the mountains the monastery's in is, but it's not an incredibly long journey for the new Destiny's Bounty to make, regardless.
- Leeroy Jenkins: Seeing dragons and Craglings tussling, Arin and Sora leap right in without a plan, much to Lloyd's exasperation.
- Never Say "Die": Finding the Bounty trashed and abandoned, Arin raises the possibility that Kai might be... y'know. Subverted later on when Nya actually does use the word "kill".
- Not Evil, Just Misunderstood: The dragons were just feeding, and with Riyu's help give the energy back to the Craglings.
- Weird World, Weird Food: Nice warm lime soup from the Craglings. Sora's a little reluctant to eat it, but Arin happily chows down on it, having always wanted to try it.
- Yank the Dog's Chain: Meeting Lloyd and her brother again gives Nya some hope for Jay, but Lloyd has to inform her there's still no sign or sight of the Master of Lightning.
