After 90 years, the uneasy truce between humans and emus is shaken when Vicky breaks the royal emu egg. Now the people of Dapto find themselves in the fight of their lives against a warrior race of hostile ratites. Meanwhile, the Kookaburra's plot to ruin Koala Man reaches fruition. Dapto's darkest hour lies ahead.

Tropes:

  • Big Damn Heroes: When General Peckmeister are trying to attack Alison and Rosie, Maxwell rescues them by parachuting towards Peckmeister and then continuously stabbing his eye until he dies.
  • Big "NO!": Kevin screams out "no" after the Kookaburra reveals he's responsible for all the disasters in Dapto to get back at him and trapping him on Toothbrush Island so he can be the new hero of Dapto.
  • Civilized Animal: After the first Emu War, the emus have evolved to the point where they can communicate through speech, operate planes, and partake in hot yoga in preparation if the humans attack again. They're even militarized where they can use guns.
  • Destroy the Evidence: After Vicky realizes she restarted the Emu War by cracking the royal emu egg, she tries to get rid of the eggshells before people realized she did it, but Kevin stopped her and gets the truth from her.
  • Devoured by the Horde: During the fight between the Daptonians and the emus, Saucy Simmons dies in the fight when one of the emus uses their head to stab itself through Saucy and then the rest of the emus devour her corpse.
  • Dreaming of Things to Come: Liam started getting visions of the future during his sleep after Vicky cracked the royal emu egg and the emu retaliate by attacking one of Dapto's outpost and he can only communicate it through progressive rock music.
  • The Exile: After taking the blame for restarting the war between the humans and emus, King Emudeus banishes Koala Man from Dapto. Koala Man's banishment made it easy for the Kookaburra to capture him when he's alone.
  • Feathered Fiend: The emus are way more dangerous in the world of Koala Man because they evolved to the point where they're able to operate aircrafts and use firearms.
  • Fire-Forged Friends: Alison initially wanted to get rid of Rosie so she can become the most powerful girl in her school, but after Rosie displayed kindness towards her, she soften on her and starts having doubts on getting rid of Rosie. When General Peckmeister is about to kill Rosie, Alison considers letting her die but changes her mind and stops Peckmeister, and by the end of the episode, Alison and Rosie have become best friends.
  • Genghis Gambit: Koala Man ends the Emu War by claiming he cracked the royal emu to restart the war between the humans and the emus because he hates everyone in Dapto for never treating him like a hero and wanted the emus to destroy Dapto. His plan works and the humans and emus cease their fighting and they have a peace treaty between them and thanks it to their hatred for Koala Man.
  • Hidden Elf Village: After the first Emu War, the emus secluded themselves from the humans where they evolved and lived in peace and harmony and it's where they found Emutopia.
  • Historical Villain Upgrade: In one of the very rare examples of this happening to non-humans, the Emu army. In the real Emu War, the worst thing the Emus did was destroy crops in an already-impoverished Great Depression-era Australia. In the Koala Man universe, they were actually brutally killing people.
  • Honor Before Reason: Just before Kevin leaves in exile Dapto for good, Vicky stops him and tells him he can just remove his mask after he leaves and sneak back into Dapto (since no one knows his true identity) and forget about being Koala Man, but Kevin chooses to honor the banishment.
  • Hope Spot: When talking with King Emudeus, he successfully convinces him to stop attack Dapto by telling him they're both good blokes. Just before they could shake hands, the rest of Dapto are driving towards Emutopia where they break into their kingdom to fight back. After they break in, King Emudeus changes his mind about making peace and orders his emus to attack the humans.
  • Instant Expert: Despite Louise stating she has never played the drums before, she instantly plays it expertly well when helping Liam amplify his psychic powers.
  • Internal Reveal: Koala Man finally learns the existent of the Kookaburra and he reveals he was the one who moved him trash bins back in "Bin Day", among other things.
  • It's Raining Men: Or more accurately, It's Raining Emus. The emus attacking Dapto have paratroopers deployed from Second World War-style aircraft in the first wave of the invasion.
  • Killed Off for Real: Saucy Simmons is among the first people to die during the the fight with the emus as one of the emus uses their head to stab through Saucy's chest and then the rest of the emus devour her corpses.
  • Meaningful Echo: When Koala Man tries to tell King Emudeus attacking Dapto won't bring back their cracked Royal Emu Egg, Emudeus admits it wasn't an easy decision too make and tells Koala Man "sometimes, a hero must make the ultimate sacrifice for the greater good of their flock". When Vicky is about to reveal she cracked the Royal Emu Egg, Koala Man quickly takes the heat for her and sacrifices his reputation to put all the hatred towards him so Vicky can be spared from being scorned by everyone. When Vicky asks why he would do that for her, he tells her "sometimes a hero must make the ultimate sacrifice for the greater good of their flock".
  • Mistreatment-Induced Betrayal: When Koala Man took the blame for starting the war, he claimed this was his motive for starting it: revenge for being continually disrespected after all he's done for Dapto.
  • The Power of Rock: Big Greg is able to help amplify Liam's future vision, who can only communicate it singing through progressive rock and playing on his keyboard, by having more people play along side with him.
  • Put Their Heads Together: Mrs. Banks manage to kill two emus by banging their heads together so hard that the top of their skull breaks off to reveal their brain.
  • The Reveal: No only did the Kookaburra reveals that he moved Koala Man's trash bins in "Bin Day", but he's also responsible for most of the disaster in Dapto just to ruin Koala Man: He's the one who told the Tradies about him, he got Chad Wagon to turn Liam against him, he summoned the Great One to screw Dapto, he hired the Kangaroos to carjack him, he rigged the Handies torch to explode and kill Sarah Sportsday, and he's the one who set Vicky up to crack the Royal Emu Egg. And the worse of all, he reveals he was the one who ran over Mindy years ago.
  • Revenge: During the first Emu War where a younger Maxwell fought in, he encountered General Peckmeister who shredded his legs but he got back at him by stabbing his eye. In the present, just before Peckmeister could attack Alison, Maxwell arrives in time by parachuting towards him and stabbing his other eye until he dies.
  • Seers: Liam is able to use his psychic vision with the aid of music to foresee the location of the emu's secret city.
  • Sound-Only Death:
    • When an emu is charging towards Koala Man and his family, Maxwell tackles the emu who now focus its attention on him and has him at gunpoint on the ground. After Maxwell tells Koala Man and his family to leave him and he's Dapto's only hope, and as they run, a gunshot can be heard, implying Maxwell is dead. But it's later subverted when it's reveal Maxwell somehow survived and parachutes toward General Peckmeister to rescue Alison and Rosie from him.
    • While General Peckmeister is announcing to everyone in Dapto they'll execute one human every hour if the person who cracked the Royal Emu Egg doesn't come forward, a scene show an emu pointing a gun to the back of a human's head who's on his knees and has his hand tied behind his back. Then it cuts back to Peckmeister where we hear a gunshot in the background.
  • Taking the Heat: When the war between the humans and emus is going too far, Vicky is about to tell everyone that she accidentally cracked the royal emu egg. Not wanting his wife to be scorned at by everyone, Koala Man takes the full blame for it before she could confess, claiming he intentionally restarted the war between the humans and the emus because he's tired of everyone in Dapto not respecting him after everything he has done for the town. This ends the conflict between humans and emus but Koala Man is banished from Dapto.
  • Unwitting Instigator of Doom: Vicky unknowingly restarted the Emu War when she cracked the royal emu egg to feed the students at the school, not realizing the egg she cracked was very important. It's revealed by the end of the episode that the Kookaburra set up her by placing the royal emu egg among the eggs Vicky uses to cook.
  • Use Your Head: Saucy Simmons dies this way when one of the emus uses their head to stab through Saucy's chest, instantly killing her.
  • War Is Hell: Before the emus start their attack on Dapto, everyone is confident they won't be able to get past their fences. But they soon later that the emus have evolved and militarized themselves into flying planes and using firearms. They first dropped their feces on them that's apparently heavier enough to crush everyone who gets hit by it, and then they start parachuting into their town armed with firearms and starts shooting and capturing the humans. General Peckmeister announces that they'll kill one human every hour until the person responsible for cracking the Royal Emu Egg comes forward.
  • Wham Episode: Koala Man takes the blame for Vicky when she cracked the Royal Emu Egg and he's exiled from Dapto. When he's alone, the Kookaburra kidnaps him and traps him on Toothbrush Island where he reveals that he's responsible for all the chaos happening in Dapto so he can take down him and be the new hero of Dapto and reveals he's the one who ran over Mindy and then he removes Koala Man's mask and throws it in the ocean. Liam goes into a coma after overusing his psychic powers.
  • Zero-Approval Gambit: Koala Man sacrifices his reputation in order to save Vicky from being scorned by the people of Dapto and the emus by claiming he wanted to have Dapto destroyed because they never appreciated him for helping the town. Everyone, including his own friends, believes him and they have him exiled from Dapto.
