Tropes:

  • All Your Powers Combined: In the climax, Bradamante temporarily receives the Santa power of Good Quetzalcoatl, Altria Alter, Jeanne Alter Lily, and Altera to finally overcome Black Quetzal Mask. In gameplay, this maxes out both her level and her Noble Phantasm to 90 and 5 respectively when before she was only Level 70 at NP1.
  • Call-Back: According to Anastasia, the reason she was riding around inside a Snowlem was because it's "SO GODDAMN HOT!!!", much like how she expressed her opinion of Hawaii's weather in her One-Scene Wonder during ServantFes.
  • Debut Queue: Bradamante is added to the gacha.
  • Didn't See That Coming: Jaguar Warrior uses her position as manager to obtain info on all the teams and their movesets and to plan her and Atalante Alter's strategies accordingly to achieve victory. She's blindsided when Martha last-minute replaces Quetzalcoatl due to the latter still being weakened by the Chinese team's poison from yesterday's match and her fighting style works so differently from Quetz's, allowing her to easily dominate both fighters of the animal kingdom team.
  • Dirty Old Man: Ivan seriously compliments Bradamante's acumen but then adds that he must also commend her "shapely rear end" and that they should meet after the match to shake hands. Anastasia wants to throw him off the pyramid then and there for that but she decides against it for the sake of the match.
  • Elite Four: Technically there's nine total fighters, but there are four wrestling teams that work directly under Black Quetz Mask: The American team (Edison and Bunyan), the Chinese team (Carmilla, Wu Zetian, and Red Hare), the "Animal Kingdom" team (Jaguar Warrior and Atalante Alter), and the Russian team (Anastasia and Ivan).
  • Later-Installment Weirdness: This is the only event, to date (discounting recently released events and crossover events, which usually have three year waiting periods) which has never been given a rerun.
  • Loophole Abuse: The China team abuses this out of the ass to get around the "two persons to a team" bit, with even their ally Jaguar Warrior exasperated with how far they take it. Carmilla registered as Wu Zetian's niece, Red Hare is explicitly a vehicle for Wu to ride on, and the Mooks Wu brings along are registered as her "equipment".
    • This is lightly foreshadowed by Martha revealing that she tried to enter the tournament with Tarasque (her summon/Noble Phantasm) as her tag team partner.
  • Manipulative Editing: Jaguar Warrior introduces Chaldea's team in the pre-fight promotional video with a clip of Quetzalcoatl reassuring her team that the wild beasts they're about to face in the forest pose no threat. The way Jaguar Warrior places it in the promo, however, makes it look like Quetzalcoatl was trash talking the other contestants.
  • Missed Him by That Much: The final narration implies that Ruggiero participated in the tournament as part of the African team, but was concealed by the information blackout around the competitors and eliminated before the Chaldean team (including Bradamante) could have faced him.
  • Mother Russia Makes You Strong: Anastasia and Ivan represent Russia, and they're the strongest of the Elite Four and considered one of the strongest teams in the tournament, facing off with Quetzalcoatl and Bradamante in the semifinal round. Anastasia even outright states they're not actually loyal to Black Quetzal Mask and they got their position for their sheer power.
  • Never Trust a Trailer: In addition to the Manipulative Editing mentioned above, Jaguar Warrior warns that not all the teams featured in the televised promo will be fought in the main story.
  • No Challenge Equals No Satisfaction: Bradamante refuses to ask Santa to reunite her with Ruggiero, because it's the process of searching for him that proves her worth.
  • Paper-Thin Disguise: Martha is forced to briefly substitute for Quetzalcoatl, who is still not recovered from the poisoning suffered from fighting the Chinese team, and wears a full-face mask while calling herself "New Quetzal Mask." Only Bradamante and Jaguar Warrior actually fall for it.
  • Playing Possum: After the collision of their finishing moves knocks out their partners Quetzalcoatl and Anastasia respectively and leaving themselves barely able to keep going, Bradamante defeats Ivan by blinding him when he assumes she's down for the count.
  • Power Levels: Anastasia uses "tsarpower" to explain the difference in strength between her and Ivan's super move to what the Quetzal Sisters can do. Mash points out that it's not even a real unit of measurement but Bradamante rolls with it anyways to explain how she'll improve her super move to match and surpass theirs.
  • Rules of the Game: In the Main and Matches Quests, the players can only use two Servants in the party, one of their Servants and a Support Servant.
  • Tournament Arc: This year event is a wrestling competition in Mexico.
  • Whole-Plot Reference: While the overarching plot is a beast all its own, the meat of the story is a massive reference to Kinnikuman's "Dream Chojin Tag Arc", and follows similar narrative beats with certain characters filling in for teams in that tournament. For example, Lionman (Edison) and Big Body (Bunyan) are stand-ins for Neptuneman and Big the Budo.
  • The Worf Effect: All the previous Santas are defeated before any of them can even reach the semi-finals, but with the exception of Altria (Alter) they're all able to dole out some advice that helps Quetzalcoatl bypass the tactics that beat them.
