In the first episode to premiere in a weekday timeslot since 2002, Peter invites his family and friends on a trip to Maine to stay in his boss' cabin, but things soon go awry.
Tropes:
- All Just a Dream: It's abruptly revealed at the end of the episode that the whole story from the company picnic onward never happened; Peter had a heart attack and hallucinated the whole thing.
- Beary Funny: Peter is dead-set on seeing a trained bear show, only to be dismayed when the others cause him to miss it (permanently — it was their last show before closing down). Lois tries to comfort Peter by telling him he'll probably run into a wild bear in the woods, but Peter isn't keen on that idea for obvious reasons.
- Crossover Punchline: Bob Belcher makes yet another cameo throughout the episode, repeatedly calling Peter "Darren".
- Everyone Has Standards: Despite everyone being angry at Peter, they frantically try to protect him from Lois after the revelation that he burned her reusable shopping bags, sending her into an Unstoppable Rage.
- Gilligan Cut: After all the mess is sorted out, Peter asks Preston if they can still stay in the cabin for the rest of the week and he agrees. Cut to everyone driving back home two hours later because "a day and a half is probably enough" in Maine.
- Jerkass Has a Point: As much of a jerk as Peter was acting, he does have every right to be upset with his neighbors since their constant interfering with his vacation caused him to be unable to see the bear show. When the others return and Peter apologizes, they do acknowledge this factor and admit they should have made more of an effort as well.
- This Is Unforgivable!: Lois, enraged and in tears, tells Peter she'll never forgive him after her reusable shopping bags get torched in the cabin fire he started.
