Tropes

  • Berserk Button:
    • Don't make fun of K. Rool's employees behind his back.
    • Saying anything positive about H.K. Rool in the presence of K. Rool instantly sets him off.
  • Big, Screwed-Up Family: H. K. Rool and Kennedy were already pretty bad on their own, but Kennedy's kids, Kip and Kassidi, are just as unpleasant
  • Call-Back: Like in "The Office Party", Kennedy gets vomited on near the end of the episode.
  • The Dogs Bite Back: K. Rool's crew (primarily DK and Tiny) verbally give Kip, Kennedy and Harold "The Reason You Suck" Speech when they all realise Harold, Kennedy and Kip's true colours towards their colleague, son, brother, and uncle, with DK stating that he'd be rather be working for his boss than selfish money-grubbing assholes who do nothing but mistreat a member of their family.
  • Jerkass Has a Point: Lanky may act lazy and demeaning towards K. Rool at work, but he had a reason not to purchase a suit for the business party as the cheapest suit he could find was worth $100. Talk about expensive clothing!
  • Karma Houdini Warranty: After almost two years of getting away with ridiculing and mistreating a member of their own family, the Viridis City branch members finally get their long-awaited comeuppance, especially Kennedy, who gets his clothes ruined when Spewart vomits all over him, with some of it getting onto H. K. Rool's clothes too.
  • Kick the Dog: Basically, what all of the Viridis City crew do in this episode. They constantly put K. Rool down and verbally abuse him to the point of no return. Kennedy's children, Kip and Kassidi, are also showing ridiculing K. Rool's employees, with Kip gossiping about them behind their backs and Kassidi mocking Katryna and trying to bully Dixie.
  • Like Father, Like Son:
    • Somewhat. Dixie tells Diddy and Kitty that K. Rool doesn't like being called by his first name, Konnor, just like his father doesn't like being called "Harold".
    • Kassidi and Kip, Kennedy's children, are just as unpleasant as Kennedy is. Kip however, doesn't seem to hold his father in a high-regard given how he is seen smiling when Spewart pukes on him.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: DK falls into this when he accidentally hurts K. Rool's feelings and makes him angry. He even lampshades what he should have done. to not make his boss feel enraged.
  • Never My Fault: K. Rool's family has this attitude in regard to K. Rool's bitterness, with his father saying that he has always wanted to be the center of attention, completely ignoring that the reason K. Rool is like that is because of how poorly he and his relatives have treated him all his life.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: DK outlining all of the good qualities H. K. Rool was doing for DK was what made K. Rool gradually push him into losing it with him. When he mentions that K. Rool's father had offered him a position in the corporate section of the business, K. Rool has finally had enough. This even led to DK eventually realising how much he had hurt not only himself but his boss in the process.
  • Oh, Crap!: One as a group, one from Dixie and another from DK alone.
    • Dixie when she realises she has made out with Krusha at Funky's the previous night.
    • DK has this when he mentions to K. Rool how his father offered him a job at a higher ranking position in his branch
    • Mass "Oh, Crap!": K. Rool's gang minus Kiddy have one when they notice Chunky's outfit for the party.
  • Rage Breaking Point: K. Rool has this when his father offers DK a job at his branch, seeing as his family not only mistreats him non-stop, but they also try to steal away his employee and friend.
  • Screw the Money, I Have Rules!: H. K. Rool offers DK a job at his branch of the business, and offers him a higher pay that the one K. Rool gives him among other things. DK ultimately refuses the offer after he realizes how poorly H. K. Rool and the rest of his relatives treat K. Rool, saying that he'd rather work for K. Rool than selfish, greedy and unpleasant people like him and Kennedy.
  • Spoiled Brat: Kassidi, Kennedy's daughter, is this. She essentially does nothing but look down on others with less money than her, especially if they work for her uncle Konnor. Kitty even calls her this without hesitation when she steps in to defend Dixie from her.
  • Tomboy with a Girly Streak: Katryna initially hates the dress K. Rool chooses for her and is embarrassed of wearing it, especially after Kassidi mocks her over it. By the end of the episode however, she confesses that she has grown to like it.
  • Underdressed for the Occasion: Unlike everyone else, Lanky decides not to buy any formal clothing for the Corporate Party and shows up in his regular overalls, much to K. Rool's dismay. In addition, Tiny initially shows up with a Stripperific two-piece dress, though K. Rool tells her to change into something less revealing.
  • Vomit Indiscretion Shot: Played straight and downplayed twice. Spewart vomits his drink onto K. Rool and Kennedy while he was already drunk.
