Fairly certain that's not how giving the finger works.

The player receives a Finger in the Mail by the torturer and killer of homeless man Steve Wood. Now it's up to them and Jones to play his sadistic game of chasing him down.

Tropes:

  • The Chase: Jones and the player are forced to chase Steve Wood's killer in a sadistic game of following his body parts and indications left behind by him.
  • Cold-Blooded Torture: The victim was tortured by having his fingers cut off before being stuffed inside an Iron Maiden, left to die from blood loss in there.
  • Continuity Nod:
    • Cooperville, the homeless camp from Case 3, reappears as a crime scene.
    • In the Torture Table scene, a newspaper mentioning the murder of Samuel Rye can be seen.
  • Creepy Basement: One of the crime scenes is even called Creepy Basement. It's chock-full of torture devices and it's also where the victim is found, killed by an Iron Maiden. Then you find out it was used as a sex dungeon too...
  • Cruel and Unusual Death: Steve was tortured by having his fingers chopped off, then put inside an Iron Maiden that slowly killed him.
  • Cute and Psycho: Harper is quite cute, but also crazy.
Jones: Psychiatric hospital? What were you there for?
Harper: Oh nothing really. They say I have psychotic disorders just because I couldn't resist biting that young doctor that time...
Harper: But I'm better now! I only go there twice a week!
  • Dominatrix: Jezabela, one of the suspects, is one. She has used the torture room where the victim was killed as a sex dungeon, as well as carrying a whip and being entirely dressed in rubber.
  • Don't Ask: After Jones tells you who is Jezabela.
Jones: Y'know, I've heard a certain Jezabela owns a fetish club in town. The rumor says that she hosts animated torture parties.
Please don't ask me how I know that.
  • Finger in the Mail: The case starts with the police department receiving a package with the victim's finger on it.
  • Fingore: The killer chop off the victim's fingers one by one.
  • For the Evulz: Tyler murdered a homeless man and sent the police the man's fingers all for the sake of some sick game.
  • Half-Identical Twins: Harper and Tyler McAlister look like gender-swapped versions of each other.
  • I'm a Humanitarian: Tyler confesses to eating the victim's liver after killing him. This understandably makes Jones very sick.
  • Hobo: The victim was one.
  • Iron Maiden: After being tortured, the victim is finally killed with one of these.
  • The Mentally Disturbed: Let's just say Harper has a lot of loose screws.
Harper: I'll never understand why they categorize you as "unstable", just because you need to stand naked on your balcony and scream before going to bed.
  • Noodle Incident: Apparently, Jones and Jezabela have some rather personal history together, which she uses to blackmail him into helping her.
Jones: Jezabela, we're Police, not your personal Lost and Found service!
Jezabela: Now Jones, I've known you to be more... cooperative. Do you remember when-
Jones: But I guess this time we can make an exception!!
  • Only One Name: Jezebela's full name was never revealed.
  • Property of Love: Harper McAlister towards Jezabela.
Jezabela: As for the necklace, it's quite obviously not mine.
Jones: Come on! "Property of Jezabela" is written on it, clear as day!
Jezabela: Which means it belongs to my devoted vassal, Cherry Doll. SHE is my property, not the leash!
    Jones: ...Oh.
  • Pun: After finding the victim's fifth finger, Jones asks you to high five him. Cue Lame Pun Reaction from you.
  • Shout-Out:
  • Standalone Episode: Just like Case 10, this case features a self-contained story with little to no connection to the overall plot of the Financial Center, despite being sandwiched between both cases that serve as the climax of the Greene Holdings Story Arc.
  • Too Much Information: Jones' reaction after Nathan tells him the killer used the victim's finger as a caviar spoon.
Jones: <Player's Name>, next time I ask Nathan for details, please tell me to just shut up.
  • You Do Not Want To Know: The following exchange with Jezabela.
Jezabela: As for the caviar spoon, of course I recognize it. We use them in our "Caviar goes too far" parties!
Jezabela: They're my favorite nights because they combine two things I love the most. And one of them is caviar.
    Jones: What's the other?
Jezabela: Are you sure you want to know?
