Now loading tropes:

  • Actually Pretty Funny: The massive ghost's reaction to getting sprayed in the face with soda.
  • Always Save the Girl: As usual, Numbuh 4 is the first one to find Numbuh 3 in peril and is the most determined to save her.
  • Bait-and-Switch: The episode opens with Numbuh Three giving a eulogy speech at the funeral of someone she says was "the smallest of the team" and that she remembers him "acting so big and tough" and one of the five members is noticeably missing from the group shot. Turns out it's one of their hamsters, named Chubbo, who has died and Numbuh Four was just absent because he thought that a funeral for a hamster was stupid.
  • Be Careful What You Wish For: Numbuh Three wishes she could take care of all the dead hamsters in that place they move onto. She gets that wish...
  • Big Damn Heroes: In a surprising twist, it's the Hamsters who save the day by dousing the massive ghost of Chubbo with cans of soda and tossing an entire vending machine of it on him and his grave.
  • Body Horror: When Kuki tells the assembled hamster souls that she really can't stay all of the hamsters shed their normal appearance skins by exiting through the mouth.
  • Brick Joke: At the funeral in the beginning, Numbuh 2 outrageously mentions that hamsters enjoy motocross racing in the afterlife (before Numbuh 5 nudges him). This turns out to be indeed the case in the very last scene.
  • Butt-Monkey: Numbuh 4 throughout the entire episode and by the hamster's hands. Most likely invoked, given his insensitive remark at Chubbo's funeral. See Kick the Dog below.
  • Friendly Ghost: What the hamster souls turn out to be, at least initially...
  • Kick the Dog: While probably not intentional, Numbuh 4's response to the whole funeral for Chubbo is pretty darn insensitive. Especially towards the other hamsters who clearly viewed Chubbo as a friend.
Numbuh 4: Aw, come on! So what if one of the cruddy hamsters is gone? It's not like we haven't got another thousand of the dumb rodents running around!
  • Lack of Empathy: Numbuh 4 shows no remorse for the passing of Chubbo the hamster.
  • Never Say "Die": Played straight with the kids comforting Numbuh 3, telling where hamsters go where they "move on."
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: When the hamster ghosts try to keep Numbuh 3 from leaving.
  • Ship Tease: Numbuh 4 being the first to react when Numbuh 3 gets abducted, then him grabbing her hand and pulling her to safety when the hamsters nearly drag her away for a second time.
  • Tempting Fate: In the end, Numbuh 4 thanks the hamsters for their help and says the next soda is on him. A hamster obliges by again spraying Numbuh 4 in the face with a can of soda.
