"Did he just said he's parking here all night?"

"Go get some help, you freaking nutcase!"
—Louise, to Millie

The Belcher kids, the Pesto twins and Darryl become trapped in a makeshift fort and are left at the mercy of psychotic classmate Millie, who is obsessed with Louise.

Trope Night:

  • Bittersweet Ending: The kids don't get to maximize their candy profits as planned, but they don't go empty-handed as they steal Millie's bag of candy, giving her some much-deserved karma.
  • Blame Game: Everyone starts accusing each other of being the one that ratted out their escape plan to Millie.
  • Brick Joke: Darryl makes a map of houses to hit and houses that give out things like raisins. At the end of the episode, Millie mentions having gotten some raisins while trick-or-treating—she clearly didn't have the liberty of checking Darryl's map before leaving the fort.
  • Brutal Honesty: Louise spelling it out that she isn't Millie's friend.
Louise: Of course I don't?! Who would?! WHO. WOULD?!
  • The Calls Are Coming from Inside the House: Not seen but alluded to through the Burger of the Day, the "Cauliflower's Cumin from Inside the House Burger".
  • Chekhov's Gun: Andy loses one of his shoes escaping the fort and rather than go back to retrieve it, Ollie throws one of his back inside. This proves to be helpful when the Belcher kids pretend to be ghosts and trick Millie into believing she killed them.
  • Claustrophobia: Like many things, Darryl has “a thing” about small spaces.
  • Cool and Unusual Punishment: How Louise handles Darryl betraying the group: having Andy and Ollie belch in his face. It's not effective because their breath smells good, ruining the punishment.
  • Didn't Think This Through: Darryl acts as The Mole for Millie, allowing her to stop their escape attempt. The thing is: Millie can't take him out of the fort, and if he'd just let the plan go through he would have escaped with the others. Louise has to tell him just how stupid he is for thinking stopping the escape plan would let him escape.
  • Double Entendre:
Linda: You don’t have to be good; you just have to be fast.
Mort: Why can’t all women want that?
  • Earn Your Happy Ending: After the Belcher kids trick Millie into giving them her candy, they're seen sharing it with the Pesto twins and Darryl in the credits.
  • Epic Fail: Bob, Linda, Teddy and Mort's attempt to make a dragon costume for Tina, Gene and Louise due to repeated miscommunication over who is working on which body parts.
  • Eye Twitch: Millie does this along with a Slasher Smile, befitting her psychotic personality.
  • Failed Attempt at Drama: When Andy is apparently trapped in a room with spiders, he tells Ollie "I'll be with you every time you look in a mirror!" (because they're identical twins). Ollie doesn't get it at first, causing Andy to explain it while lamenting that his "last words" are ruined.
  • Halloween Episode: The second in the series.
  • I Got a Rock: Tina hands out trash to Andy, Ollie, and Gene as they trick-or-treat inside the fort.
  • I Resemble That Remark!:
Louise: This is Tina’s room. You can really feel the insecurity.
Tina: I think it’s nice. You don’t think it’s nice?”
  • It's a Long Story: When Linda asks where the kids’ candy is, Tina replies that it’s a long story.
Gene: Actually, I could tell it pretty fast.
  • Jump Scare: The Kuchi Kopi nightlight appears for a couple of frames during the opening theme, with a squeaking sound and a "Happy Halloween" message. While the image and noise are both benign, their sudden appearance can catch viewers off guard.
  • Just in Time: The trapped children manage to get out just before the ramp crushes their fort.
  • Lame Comeback: When a homeowner makes fun of the dragon costume, Linda calls his doormat stupid.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: After trapping the kids in the fort, which nearly goes horribly wrong, Millie has her candy taken by the Belchers, the Pesto twins, and Darryl to make up for the fact that their predicament kept them from trick-or-treating. Not to mention she gets the fright of her life when she thinks she got the kids killed, knowing she'll get in massive trouble for it and they make her think they return as ghosts.
  • Losing a Shoe in the Struggle: Andy loses his shoe when the kids are escaping the fort and Ollie throws one of his in with it. This ends up playing a big role in tricking Millie into thinking she killed all of them.
  • Manipulative Bitch: Bob and Linda do notice the kids' absence, but when they go out to look for them Millie leads them away by telling them the kids are trick-or-treating.
  • The Millstone: Darryl betrays the group when Millie promises him candy and the chance to use the bathroom in exchange for keeping the Belchers and the Pestos trapped inside.
  • My Life Flashed Before My Eyes: Parodied. As they’re about to be crushed by the roof of their fort, Gene says that every meal he’s ever eaten is flashing before his eyes.
Gene: Oh my god. My last meal was cardboard!
  • Noodle Incident: The kids apparently let Bob into the fort once, and he wasn't supposed to tell Linda.
  • No, You: When the first person Bob and Linda meet note that they're too old to trick-or-treat, Bob retorts that he's old (he's 60).
  • Pet the Dog: During the credits, Louise trades Tina's pile of candy for a single chocolate bar, but then feels guilty and gives her some candy back.
  • Potty Emergency: In addition to wanting to get out to go trick-or-treating, Darryl also agrees to work with Millie because he knows he’s going to have to poop soon.
  • Rage Breaking Point: Louise can only take so much of Millie's obsessive behavior before finally screaming at her.
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Louise to Millie when she puts her obsession with becoming Louise's friend over helping her, her siblings and her friends from a life or death situation.
  • Shout-Out: The entire episode is this to director Wes Anderson and pays homage to his usage of camera angles, mostly of the kids' fort. Additionally, Darryl is dressed as Mark Mothersbaugh of Devo, who has composed music for Anderson's films.
  • Sibling Seniority Squabble: Notable aversion; Ollie is confirmed to be the older twin in this episode, but this causes no problems between him and Andy.
  • Spiders Are Scary: Darryl ALSO has “a thing” about spiders.
Darryl: I have a thing about spiders!
Louise: You have a thing about everything!
Darryl: But especially spiders; they’re scary!
  • Skewed Priorities: After thinking she's killed the Belcher kids, Millie is more concerned over whether she'll like her therapist.
  • They Call Me MISTER Tibbs!:
Bob: What are you? Bean can head?
Gene: No, robot bean can head to you!
  • Too Dumb to Live: Darryl, who honestly thought it was a better idea to squeal to Millie so that she would let him out to use the bathroom.
  • Too Old to Trick-or-Treat: Tina wants to make the most of what she thinks will be her last year trick-or-treating, leading to angst when the kids are trapped in a cardboard fort during prime trick-or-treating hours.
  • The Walls Are Closing In: Darryl comes up with an idea for how to get the truck’s ramp off the roof, but accidentally hits the wrong button and it comes pressing down on the fort, threatening to squish everyone inside.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: Gene and Tina both call Louise out for pissing Millie off when she was in a position to get them free, even though it's clear Millie would've gone on rambling about nothing and probably wouldn't have helped, anyway. To be fair, Millie went out of her way to be antagonistic because of Louise's (admittedly justified) outburst of the latter's absent-mindedness.
  • You Fool!: Louise to Darryl when she finds out about his double cross to Millie, primarily because it doesn't even benefit him in any way.
  • You Monster!: Tina when Millie starts eating candy in front of the boxed in fort.
