Finn and Jake jump into a giant's belly to try to help fix his stomach-ache, only to find a constantly-partying colony of adorable bears.

Tropes

  • 2D Visuals, 3D Effects: The scenes where the lava is shown and the bears' terrified reaction to it, as well as everything shaking is noticeably more fast paced than almost everything else seen in the series. This is because the aforementioned sequence was animated in Adobe Flash. The reason for this was to bring up tension and tweening to make the lava move better and more smoothly. Adobe Flash was previously used in Power Animal for Jake's dance moves, and it was very noticeable there too.
  • Acoustic License: Averted and played straight. Finn and Jake are first ignored and then misunderstood as they try to talk to some bears in the middle of a noisy rave party, but then in the same space they have a quiet conversation with another bear with no problems.
  • Bait-and-Switch: Finn and Jake leap into the monster because they hear someone calling for help. When they find the source of the cries, it's a bear calling for help... putting up streamers.
  • Beary Friendly: Party Pat and the party bears aren't malicious, but they are partying a bit too hard for the sake of the monster whose belly they're in.
  • Bigger on the Inside: The monster's insides seem to be far larger than the monster looks on the outside.
  • Big "WHAT?!": Finn lets one drop when Party Pat tells him that the partying that he and Jake had been doing wasn't genuine and didn't count. Turns out he was just kidding.
  • Cassandra Truth: Subverted. It takes Finn and Jake hours to earn Party Pat's trust enough to tell him he's living in a monster's belly, but once they do he realizes they're right. But he still won't leave.
  • Convection, Schmonvection: The lava doesn't do anything to the monster beyond badly scalding him, and only gives the bears serious burns, rather than, y'know, killing them.
  • Everybody Do the Endless Loop: The background bears have somewhat limited and repetitive dance moves.
  • Failed a Spot Check: The bears never noticed they were inside a monster's belly, even though it should've been patently obvious, and they were in there for days.
  • "Fantastic Voyage" Plot: Finn and Jake venture inside a giant monster's belly.
  • Lyrical Dissonance: Finn and Jake's song is set to very sombre music, but the lyrics are actually pretty ridiculous.
  • Non-Malicious Monster: The monster just wants the bears to stop setting off fireworks in his stomach, and in the end is perfectly willing to let them stay (until Stufficiation occurs) when they switch to lasers.
  • "Shaggy Dog" Story: After spending several hours trying to save the bears from being turned into The Stuff, the bears refuse to go anywhere else because the monsters' stomach was a "primo" party cave. Fortunately, Finn is able to convince them to find a gentler way to party, by using lasers instead of fireworks, and the monster takes them back.
  • Shout-Out: The bears are a parody of the Care Bears.
  • Swallowed Whole: Party Pat and his bear buddies.
  • Tempting Fate: There's this.
Jake: Seriously, the only foreseeable threat might be all these trees being swallowed, but they're not hurtin' nothin'.
Finn: Yeah... Good thing [the monster's] not swallowing some deadly volcano lava. That would kill them for sure!
(The monster considers this and heads for a volcano.)
  • Unusual Euphemism: Finn and Jake are worried the bears will get digested and turned into "the Stuff", i.e. poop.
  • Wise Beyond Their Years: Cubby, the youngest bear, is the only one who realizes there's a problem.
