It's a roleplay series set in Hell, what did you expect? As such, there are a lot of examples to be found.
- Lockhart. Just...everything about him. A hundreds of years old, dirty, grimey and insane miner demon who likes to torture other demons. His creepy appearance (imagine a miner but with long sharp clawed hands that can turn into pickaxes, constantly Glowing Eyes of Doom and Slasher Smile) and just how he can always seem to pop out of nowhere, not to mention how he's portrayed as a more realistic horror compared to others (having next to no comical moments), he's easily considered one of the scariest characters in Lucifer's Folly. He's so menacing that even Gevaudan Silverwolf is unnerved by him. He's less like a character from Hazbin, and more like a horror movie villain.
- Biggest examples are of him torturing Minerva, his disturbing phone call to her and him just walking around and circling Krokodil. Jesus fuck...
- There are some ocassions in RP where Lockhart can be seen at random places at random times, such as standing at the bus stop past midnight, walking around Lucifer Park at 3 AM and lurking around the woods at night. Even if he rarely does anything, it's still really creepy.
- Perhaps the creepiest time was when he stood by Wolfsbane Bar and did nothing other than stare directly at the camera, his glowing eyes and creepy smile not ceasing to change.
- Zepio the stalker pegasus demon. Seems harmless at first...up until you see his big, bulging bloodshot eyes. And he seemingly only appears whenever someone is alone in the restroom. You'll want to avoid using the restroom at night thanks to this guy.
- Valentino when he gets really dark. He's already scary enough when he acts all seemingly polite and charismatic to others, but when it gets dark and one is alone, he gets really dark and nasty. Him forcing Angel Dust to give him a blowjob all while sadistically laughing all the ways further solidifies it.
- Fucko the Clown himself can be kind of unnerving in just how enigmatic he is. The time he looked directly into the viewers didn't help.
- Some of Volk's war stories from his KGB days, comically dark as they are, are pretty gruesome to hear. Like the time his squad was mauled by a highly trained tiger on Bangladesh.
- Dr. Varkreim. He hasn't even appeared (at least physically) but already he's quickly solidified himself as one of Lucifer's Folly's darkest characters due to his cruel and barbaric experiments, not to mention him expanding and making the Hell Nazis more of a threat.

- Murmur's tantrums when he gets REALLY angry can fall into this.
- Mephistopheles. He might present himself as a slick conman who has nothing to hide, but if you make a false move with him and fall for one of his deals....lord knows what he can do with you.
- Metatron and his angels flying above a darkened Pentagram City and flying in the air like fighter jets, killing and slaughtering as many demons as they can. Metatron's ravings only make it worse.

- Gavin himself can be this sometimes with his kills.
- Monty-Jasper when they get into their "obsessive" state...yikes...
- Toby's other demon forms (that were given to him by Kur) are all pretty unsettling, but his final and full demon form is by far the most nightmarish. Black pits for eyes, risen up hair, warped jacket and flayed-like skin...no sleep tonight!
- Cazador when he attacked Angel Dust when he was depressed and turned into his full demon form. Just seeing Cazador so emotionally broken and acting so brutal towards his friend like that is scary enough, seeing him literally turn into a monster was extremely frightening. Thankfully he stops himself from harming Angel when Angel begs and pleads, reminding Cazador who he is.
- Of course it wouldn't be this trope without mentioning El Condor. His brutal execution methods and how he treats his prisoners is portrayed as realistically graphic and not with humor once unlike other demons—-he's as depraved as they come. He has even killed his own men for being drunk or such petty crimes, that's how empty he is.
- From Hazbins Hell Hotel, John beating up Alex to a bloody pulp out of sheer petty anger all while he's laughing and forcing Alex's daughter Serena to watch (most likely traumatizing her). Not only is this not depicted in a humorous light but it's shockingly disturbing, even for John. Granted it's somewhat undercut by Alex shrugging it off, but still; John's a fucking sociopath.
- John wanting to get an angelic weapon for himself...lord knows what he could have done with it...
- Leon St. John killing his girlfriend after she was tortured by the Overlord Fractalis Mandel. While she was in a bad shape, she could have been saved. Instead, he opted to choose to end her life. The fact he just forgets about her and doesn't even treat it like a big deal afterwards (in fact, he seems more upset about losing his fucking guns) that solidified him as a monster.
- Ribesal. Not only is he as big as Lamashtu, but his design is utterly terrifying. Imagine seeing a creature like him lurking in Earth's seas (which he can appear in.)
- The very concept of some demons being able to roam Earth freely and you wouldn't know it. Sweet dreams!
- Raguel himself is pretty scary looking for an angel. Ditto Kushiel, who travels to Hell regularly and unlike the Exorcists, he doesn't have a yearly limit. Not to mention his scary appearance and voice. Fortunately, he only punishes, not exterminate demons and still has a time limit.
- Dreadic. The insane 21-year-old Joker-like Jamaican Duppy that was formerly the Medic for the Dreadheads. He wasn't insane during his reign as the gang's medic. Only after getting replaced by Poxxy, and getting abused by the older Dreadheads. (Which most likely turned him insane.) He only left the gang after the Dreadheads surrendered to Jacob. After leaving the gang, his insanity grew, and he began to kill and torture innocent patients in the hospital. He later planned revenge on Poxxy and her friends, in which he developed a zombie virus (He still has the zombie virus.) and caused a zombie outbreak in the Hotel. He also stole a dangerous device that temporarily swapped his personalities with Poxxy. That ended up getting many demons killed in a nightclub, including the pain that Jacob experienced at the beach. Dreadic may not be the most dangerous or powerful demon, but he can be a huge threat to society.
- Mr. Fuzzy. Widely considered to be one of the scariest characters to have ever appeared in Lucifer's Folly, Mr. Fuzzy is a deranged, mentally disturbed Serial Killer wearing a bunny mask who goes around and targets and kills children. Unlike many other villains in previous R Ps, Mr. Fuzzy is played up 100% seriously and isn't comical in the slightest, being depicted as a frighteningly realistic mentally ill man who harbors a hatred for children and believes their all monsters who deserve to be slain.

- While on the topic of Mr. Fuzzy, his RP itself was also very scary, with it involving the Hotel gang finding a severed hellhound child's head laying around at the park and going to find Mr. Fuzzy in the woods. It plays out like a horror movie, with Mr. Fuzzy popping up out of nowhere after long moments of quiet and seemingly being nigh-unstoppable.
- Tylon Martric's debut. He's a worker for Valentino who has apparently a rough history with his employer. But one day, he shows up for work while hungover from an attempted suicide by overdrinking, and Valentino isn't happy in the slightest. As Tylon is struck and threatened, he's terrified as he repeatedly apologizes and begs for the Overlord to not hit him again. By the time Valentino is done and tells Tylon to get back to work, the wolf-spider is reduced to a frightened mess while crying.
