Therefore, Not on the List, as it's a gag based on a list, not about how the contents of a list relate to each other, so it doesn't count.

Neither does the Evil Overlord List, which is Just for Fun.

Tropes:

  • Alliterative List: A list of things all starting with the same letter. Commonly used in conjunction with Rule #1.
  • Amusingly Short List: A list that's much, much shorter than you'd expect it to be.
  • And a Diet Coke: A character orders a diet soda after they just ordered a ton of unhealthy food.
  • Arson, Murder, and Jaywalking: A list of accomplishments or flaws ends with one that doesn't sound as impressive or heinous when compared to everything else on the list.
  • Arson, Murder, and Lifesaving: A character is chewed out for what they did wrong, then praised for the one thing they did right.
  • Bread, Eggs, Breaded Eggs: A list of three or more things ends with a combination of the previously listed items.
  • Bread, Eggs, Milk, Squick: A list of mundane stuff ends with something gross or disturbing.
  • The Commandments: A definitive list of rules that are meant to be obeyed at all times.
  • Enemies List: Someone keeps a list on hand of people they dislike.
  • Epic Catalog: Epic poetry tends to contain huge lists of things, be they people or gods/goddesses.
  • Famous, Famous, Fictional: A list of real-life famous people are put next to an obviously fictional one that doesn't really fit.
  • "Five Things" Fic: A fanfiction that lists the five times something happens, and the one time it doesn't.
  • Hurricane of Aphorisms: Someone lets loose with a series of aphorisms or sayings.
  • Hurricane of Euphemisms: A character refers to something using various euphemisms for the subject.
  • Listing the Forms of Degenerates: Someone gives a list of the types of horrible people that populate a place.
  • List-of-Experiences Speech: Someone recaps all the things that happened in their life up to this point in a speech.
  • List of Transgressions: When put on trial, a criminal's offenses are listed.
  • List Song: Listing a selection of things through song.
  • Long List: A really, REALLY big list of something.
  • Odd Name Out: The one member of a group or family whose name doesn't follow the same theme the other's names do.
  • Oh Wait, This Is My Grocery List: Someone mistakes a grocery list for another important list.
  • Rhyming List: A list of things that all coincidentally rhyme with each other.
  • Rule #1: Someone creates a list of rules that they expect everyone to abide by.
  • Snub by Omission: Someone mentions a group of characters and intentionally leaves one of them out to spite them.
  • Song of Song Titles: A song that mentions the titles of other songs in its lyrics.
  • Sparse List of Rules: A list of rules is implied to have a large number of them, but only a handful of them are brought up.
  • Top Ten List: Ten things are put into a list and ranked based on their position.
  • The Triple: A common comedy shtick: listing three things, with the third and last one being the funniest and most out of place.
  • Two out of Three Ain't Bad: Someone gives a list of three things, with the last one not being as great as the others. Cue trope name.
