    In general
  • Offical artwork of Jorus C'Baoth (especially this one) ended up looking like Old Luke.
  • Word of God states that C-3PO was originally intended to be a smarmy used car salesman, but as anyone who's seen him in any of the movies will tell you, his personality sure doesn't match that. Along comes Uchuu Sentai Kyuranger, which features a C-3PO expy named Balance, who has the exact personality that would match up with the type of personality that C-3PO's original intended career would likely have needed.

    A New Hope
  • Rogue One retroactively makes the opening of A New Hope a hilarious example of Refuge in Audacity: Princess Leia tells Darth Vader that she and her ship were on a diplomatic mission, despite Vader having personally witnessed the ship hightailing it from the Battle of Scarif with the stolen data on board.
  • C-3PO exclaiming "Thank the maker!" is amusing, when you know who built him. "Thank Darth Vader!"
  • C-3PO claims to Luke that he's "not very good at telling stories. Well, not in making them interesting, anyway." Come Return of the Jedi, and he's shown telling stories of his exploits to a group of Ewoks, complete with sound effects.
  • Han calling Leia "sister," especially when you realize that she's not HIS sister, but Luke's!
  • Han's foot dragging and chronic snarking when it comes to Leia's rescue is incredibly funny, given what happens down the road - Happily Married in Legends and Amicable Exes in Disney.
  • Legends had Keyan Farlander be the character who survived in the Y-Wing during the Battle of Yavin. Disney Canon had Evaan Verlaine be the canonical Gold Squadron survivor around 2016. Just before that in 2015, Disney introduced a variant of the Y-Wing that was a two-seater meaning both stories could be Canon. Star Wars: Battlefront II also had the Y-Wing as a two-seater.
  • When George Lucas initially presented his script to different studios, among the big names who turned down the project was Disney. Fast-forward nearly four decades later and they now have the entire franchise in their grasp.
  • Mimas, one of Saturn's "classical" moons, was discovered to look a lot like the Death Star just some years after the movie's release, even if there are two other lookalikes in Saturn.
  • Given the memetic "High Ground" scene from Revenge of the Sith, fans joke that Vader primarily beat Obi-Wan because the two were in a level hallway.
  • Obi-Wan's first line in the saga being "Hello there!", due to its Shout-Out in Revenge of the Sith and subsequent conversion into a meme.

    The Empire Strikes Back
  • In Return of the Jedi Leia says "I know. Somehow I've always known." when Luke tells her that she's his sister. So, about that kiss on Hoth, Leia...
    • Adding another layer to this scene; in RotJ, Han thinks Leia is in love with Luke and offers to step aside before Leia tells him they're actually siblings. Here, Leia kissing Luke is largely motivated by spite because Han kept goading her about her feelings for him. Han is inadvertently responsible for a decent chunk of the accidental Incest Subtext in the trilogy!
  • The scene where R2 and Yoda fight over Luke's lamp was made even funnier when the prequels revealed that ESB was not the first time Yoda and R2 had met. It's somewhat comical to think that R2 probably realizes that he's dealing with one of the most powerful beings ever to have lived... and decides to continue trolling him anyways, though it's possible that, knowing who Yoda is, he figures Yoda knows what he's doing by not revealing himself to Luke, and is just playing along by pretending to fight with him.
  • Han's kissing Leia before being frozen in carbonite, while Darth Vader is present in the same room, is funnier after Leia is revealed to be Luke's long-lost sister and, therefore, Darth Vader's daughter. This means Han kissed Leia in front of her dad!
  • Since Revenge of the Sith shows only C-3PO got his memory erased, then this means R2-D2 knows Luke and Leia are siblings. It's not hard to imagine if he might have astromech equivalent of feeling Squicked out inside him upon seeing Luke and Leia kissed, but had to keep himself quiet, either to maintain the masquerade or possibly he's programmed by Bail Organa not to tell anyone about it.
  • The original recording where Darth Vader said Obi-Wan killed Luke's father can be seen in a new light upon watching Revenge of the Sith; Obi-Wan certainly came close there!
  • Han's indignation at being called "Scruffy-looking" takes on a bit more sense after the comic shows that Han actually has herded Nerfs(on behalf of the Rebellion, no less!).
  • 3PO's complaint about the Falcon's main computer having a "most peculiar dialect". Solo reveals the computer has the memory core of a rather rude and sarcastic droid. This is expanded on in From a Certain Point of View: The Empire Strikes Back, where the conversation is actually heard and, since the Falcon has three droid cores with different personalities, their collective response sounds like a Voice of the Legion that seems to rapidly switch tone every few seconds, from blunt to sarcastic to curious and back again.
  • During the duel between Luke and Darth Vader at the end of the film, Vader at one point compliments Luke's skill and notes that Obi-Wan taught him well. As he's saying this, Luke is standing on a platform above him — after Revenge of the Sith, this accidentally comes off as Vader lampshading Obi-Wan's famous "high ground" trick.
