Heartwarming / Snow White and Seven Dwarfs

Go To

  • From the omakes, Ken secretly leaving Fujimaru Christmas gifts when they were younger.
  • When Makoto smiles for the first time. The little brofist that Takeru gives him is adorable, as is him telling Makoto that Makoto's his first friend here—keeping in mind that Takeru's a kid who's just woken up to the apocalypse and knows absolutely nobody else.
  • Takeru, being The Pollyanna, loves to dish these out, especially when paired up Fujimaru.
Takeru: "Fujimaru, it's simple. We'll go and destroy the central government together! That way... you'll be able to smile a lot more."
    • And then again, when Takeru runs off with Souichi and Souji, as this line is exactly the kind of thing that Fujimaru needs to hear:
Takeru: "Fujimaru, I will win. I'll win, and so will you."
  • Ken's attempted Heroic Sacrifice, overlapping with Tear Jerker. It just says everything you need to know about his and Fujimaru's friendship, and what Ken would do for him. Also, Takeru risking his life to come back for Ken, trying to stay upbeat all the while, with Fujimaru crying in relief and gratitude afterwards. It's the moment where, after wavering up until then, Fujimaru's loyalty is sealed.
  • Takeru's brief Disney Death of sorts, as he embraces Shirayuki while looking at the faces of all his friends and remembering the figures of Makoto and Izumi, before falling unconscious with a smile.
  • Right before the operation that will hopefully save Ken and allow him to fight again, Fujimaru tries to boost Ken's self-esteem by telling him that (despite Ken's thoughts), Fujimaru has never thought of him as a burden. Also notable for being one of the few times Fujimaru smiles sincerely.
  • Doubling as Tear Jerker, Souichi and Souji finally coming to an understanding, as Souichi thanks Souji for saving him and promises that next time, Souichi will be the one to protect him—and so if there comes a time where Souichi needs his power again, would Souji lend it? Similarly, the accompanying colour illustration for Ch. 27 counts as this.
  • After Shirayuki's been taken back from them, the others snap Takeru out of his Heroic BSoD by assuring him that even now, Shirayuki and Izumi, whom he feels that he let down, still believe in him.
  • From the finale:
    • A quiet one, but when a completely berserk Amagiya heads over to where Kuroyuki and Shirayuki are, Takeru's afraid that he's going after Shirayuki, to which Izumi and Nakanoshita, knowing Amagiya better than that, are confident that he's no threat to Shirayuki. They're right, of course.
    • Akane's reassurance to Takeru that everyone can find happiness if they keep on smiling.
    • When Fujimaru asks Ken to keep talking as to prevent him from falling unconscious, Ken's response is to smile, comment on how talking should be easy—after all, they've been friends for how long now?—and proceed to talk about mundane things. For the record, Fujimaru is on the brink of death right now.
    • Another Tear Jerker moment, but Takeru encouraging Shirayuki and indirectly assuring her that they'll make it through this by promising that they'll all go and make a grave for Amagiya.
    • "... Everyone..." Aka the first thing that Shirayuki has said in a hundred years.
    • The colour illustration that accompanies the climax.
  • The epilogue is one giant chapter of warm and fuzzy feelings. Seeing everyone so cheerful is heartwarming on its own, but specific moments include:
    • "It'll be okay. We're all friends!" Said by one very happy and no longer mute Shirayuki, after affirming that the hostility towards previous government workers haven't faded just yet.
    • Fujimaru laughs. Following that, Makoto making it clear that he's forgiven Fujimaru for his role as Ward Chief, without needing to punch him as he swore before that he would.
    • The Reveal that Amagiya survived, and his interactions with Shirayuki.
    • The final shot, with everyone having a meal together, accompanied by the narration:
And together with the prince and their allies, Snow White and the seven dwarfs lived happily ever after.
