In the Webnovel:
- Abel and Giselle's relationship when they were kids is full of adorable. Giselle tags along in almost everything Abel does, gets impressed by his achievements, and provides him her full support whenever he need it, while Abel takes care of her (mostly because of their parents' prodding), carves a wooden Ortem to her likeness (not close enough but she likes it anyway), stands up to Noswell when he tries threatening her into marrying him, and destroys his and his father monopoly over the village's trades, just to deprave him the power to try that ever again. Until we learn the parents' and Giselle's view of the relationship.
- After dealing with Evil Bound, Abel and Mea return to Lomarn City and take a rest by a fountain. Mea sees Abel's sour legs, and proceed to give them a Massage of Love, applying some Healing Herb that heal muscle fatigue. Abel thanks her and apologizes for being a burden, but she replies that she is happy to help, even for a little at anything. Abel then thinks to himself:Abel (to himself): I’m glad to hear you say that much, but I feel a kind of bottomless anxiety.
It’s kind of hard to see the vision of Mea being happy ten or twenty years from now. I can’t help but feel that she’s going to be hooked up with a guy who is a total jerk.
But today, with my curiosity taking me deeper and deeper, it was hell while going home. I was thinking rather seriously about throwing my pride and everything else away and having Mea carry me on her back. Maybe it’s because I’ve been walking too much, or maybe it’s just a weird headache.
- During the magic beasts thinning mission in the Fage territory, Abel has collapsed because of the heat, and Mea is giving him a Lap Pillow in the shade as he reciprocate, while the army is engaging a pack of vicious goblins. She cares for all his needs, like pouring him water directly to his mouth and then offering to carry him on her back to Lark's mansion. Unfortunately, this leads to putting them in danger when the pack's leader corners them.
- When Abel, sick with a cold went to his Wizard Duel with Icarus, walking with help from Euris and Mea. He could barely stand straight, concentrate, and feeling pain all over. Mea helps him stand in his place in the duel while the crowd is cursing at him and thinking he's Playing Sick, then she let go of him only for him to fall on his knees and she goes to support him again. Mea tries to dissuade Abel from going through with it and begs him to throw the fight or ask to postpone it so he could recover, but Abel tells her that he must win now or Icarus will regain his momentum. Mea then reaffirms her promise to be on Abel's side no matter what happens and holds his hand. Abel is dumbstruck by this gesture, then he and Mea get into in a Held Gaze with each others... until they're interrupted by a flaming magic bullet flying close to Abel, fired by Icarus.Mea: “…… Mea is, no matter what happens Mea is on Abel’s side.”
Mea said and gripped my hand.
Abel: “…………”
As I was feeling indescribable, a magic bullet of fire flew near me. They didn’t seem to have any intention of hitting me, and the distance was somewhat open. The magic bullets gutted the ground and created a pillar of fire. Mea gasped for breath, and the spectating residents also shushed back.
- At the end of the "Reformation of Fage Territory" arc, Abel and Mea head to Lark's office to discuss future plans. Mea sticks her ear to the door to eavesdrop, in order to check on him after what happened when he learned that Marias was a Love-Interest Traitor. Mea then pulls off from the door, and she's blushing! She tells Abel that they are having a good time, so she and Abel could visit him later. Abel figures out who was with Lark in the office right now: Euris.
- Abel, after being shown many of the Collector's treasures, refuses to give up the World Tree Ortem for any of them. His reasons varies from the Collector being stingy with his collection to offering inferior and impractical items, hoping to trick Abel into giving up something he can't part ways with for something the Collector could easily do. However, before Abel brings up these reasons, he thinks of the World Tree Ortem as "an item that represents his memories with Mea". Then:Abel (Narrating): Mea anxiously glanced at the World Tree Ortem at the feet of the Collector, and at me, anxiously.
Mea also seemed to have a special attachment to the World Tree Ortem.
When my eyes met Mea’s, I gave her a thumbs up and smiled lightly.
Abel: “Hmm …… I’m sorry, but I don’t think I’m going to change my mind.”
Collector: “What ……?”
Abel (Narrating): The Collector’s eyes glared at me as I muttered. In contrast, Mea’s expression shone with happiness.
- After Goddess Kudor enters her form, Type World Tree, and growing to an even more ginormous size and gaining more Super-Toughness, with addition to her Combat Tentacles becoming hardened and with more reach to block Abel's Levi's Spear, Abel is at his wits' end. He was barely able to land a perfect hit at her and she just instantly healed from it, using Levi's Spear's "Fate Distortion" will end up draining him and it won't matter since she'll heal from it, Zolomonia is already exhausted and can't teleport him anymore before Kudor will attack. As he hears the giant Goddess' assuming him giving up, he remembers that she's targeting Mea, for whatever reason she has, and quickly snap back to comes up with a plan to defeat her!
- After an angry Kudor slams Abel, who was falling to his death after he attacked her and caused a giant tumor to grow on her, with her tentacles, he blacks out. When he woke up, he found Peter alive and well, who he saw a while ago getting crushed by Kudor's tentacle, making Abel thinks that they both died. But it turns out, Kudor spared them both and transported them to a nearby cliff. She then appears to them in her human-form, scolding Abel for what he did to her, but in a friendly kind of scolding, and offers a deal again to Abel, now in a form of mutual benefit that includes sparing Mea's life, having been impressed by the effort he put into fighting her. Abel begs for it and gains Kudor's summoning crest!! But then he falls asleep, after such a harrowing battle. He earned it.
- Mea reuniting with Abel after his battle with Kudor. She's been worried sick about him, after she was put to sleep by Peter and carried by Myunhi to Elia's carriage, she greets Abel by rushing towards him, hugging him and crying into his chest. When he asks her if she want to see Kudor's summoning crest, she answers:Mea: “I don’t care about the summoning crest! Let’s not do anything dangerous anymore!”
Mea kept her face buried in my chest and strengthened her arms.
Abel: “I-It doesn’t matter …… I, I see ……”
I gently let go of the fingers that were confidently gripping the hem of my dress.
- Mea defending Abel from Shame's scolding for once again putting the former in danger:Mea: “Me-, Mea’s been next to Abel all along! I’m grateful to Shame, but I don’t need to be told what to do here!”
Shame: “Are you sure? If you stay with this kid, Mea-chan, you might not be happy, you know? Abel-chan is a little off, so you’re going to have a very hard time, you know?”
Mea: “I don’t care if I’m unhappy, as long as I’m together with Abel!”
- After Abel hands Mea her guard Ortem, she becomes worried about Abel suddenly growing overprotective of her. He, on the other hand, is planning of leaving the alchemists division to Altamir and Rinoa for a while, as well as postponing his other projects such as the magic wave tower, so he could have enough time to be with Mea and to protect her from Count Julem, but he can't tell her about that. Mea is staring at his troubled face in anxiety, but when their eyes meet, she relaxes and rests her head on Abel's shoulder and tells him "She's happy he's thinking about her". He lets her like this for a while, until Euris calls for them behind the door.
