    Breaking Ground

    Dark Skies
  • Koji is allowed by Mercia and Major Shosa to spend one night at Cherrystone Castle to hang out with Errol and Orla. This is followed by a Time Skip of "several 'one more nights' later".
  • While the kids are fighting off a horde of crazed undead outside Cherrystone Castle, they can't help but wonder where all the local defenders are. This is followed by an Answer Cut to Horatio and Beatrice, seemingly assisted by the entire castle garrison, trying to give Caesar a bath. The after-battle cutscene reveals that they failed despite all of their manpower, and plan to try again next month.
  • The introduction of Oddvar, a Big Bad Wannabe who expects to become the next Evil Overlord of Felheim. Unfortunately, while he is a Necromancer, none of his creations are obeying him due to the Fallow, causing his Evil Is Hammy routine to fall flat.
    Oddvar: O, children of death... Come! Gather to me!
    (Undead units take their turns normally, ignoring him)
    Oddvar: No! No! Come! The opposite of leaving!
  • The flashback sequence:
    • Ragna approaches the door of Valder's court, and the player is given two options: "Knock quietly" or "ask (the guards) to be let in". You can probably guess how that plays out.
    • One of the courtiers at the feast tables can be spoken to:
      Ragna: Whatcha got there, loser? A quiche!?
      Royal Treasurer: "(Nervous chatter)"
      Ragna: IT SMELLS DELIGHTFUL! COMPLEMENT THE CHEF FOR ME, OR I'LL SNAP YOU IN HALF!!
    • Ragna tries, in her own way, to have a heartfelt little moment with Vesper, thanking her for sticking around despite everything:
      Vesper: Ragna, I am quite literally being held here against my will.
      Ragna: Yeah! It's like DESTINY! I feel it, too!
    • Valder trying to lighten the mood with a Pun, complete with a rimshot sound effect.
      Valder: Sounds like we have a... "dead" audience in the hall tonight, eh?
      (Beat)
      Valder: Yes... We love a good jest every now and again.
    • Ragna demonstrates her grasp of fumomancy through a new "groove", which she dubs "SPECIAL MOVE: Darkest Nightmare of the Souless Umbral Void: Ragna's Smokeshow Spectacular!" It even shows up on the usual groove activation splash, the text scrolling along because it can't all fit onscreen.
      Vesper: She named it!?

     Rising Tides
Wulfar: The gift... is a horse.
->Beat
->Guard Captain: a horse.
->Wulfar: A giant... wooden... horse!
->Wulfar: On account of... er...
->Wulfar: She likes horses.
-> Another Beat
->Guard Captain: Yes, that does sound like the Empress.
Wulfar: The horse... must only be seen at night.
The Warden: Are you suggesting I let the prisoners eat my horse? Is that what you want?

    Final Campaign
  • The Achievement Everyone Is Here! depicts a smug Tenri with a lot of blades pointed at her. Which… rightfully describes the situation where you get this achievement.

    Conquest Mode
  • Cherrystone Conquest:
    • Valder is the final boss. When battled as Mercia, she lightly jokes that her father always said Valder would try to conquer Cherrystone somehow, but Valder coldly dismisses Cherrystone as "a trifling prize" compared to his real goal: the opera tickets that come with winning the Conquest Games.
    • While otherwise played seriously, there's something grimly amusing about the introduction of Dark Mercia's Conquest run, where Mercival's ghost and Emeric are unable to pinpoint why Mercia (levitating off the ground, sporting Flaming Hair and Prophet Eyes, and using an Artifact of Doom as a sword and shield) seems a bit different today.
  • Felheim Conquest:
  • Saffron Isles Conquest:
    • If Sigrid beats you on the final map, she will say 'Arrrrr'.
  • Gloomwoods Conquest:
    • Errol asks Koji whether it's right to be digging up old ruins in Floran territory:
      Koji: Uncle Shosa says sometimes it's better to demand the charges be dropped than to ask permission!
