• Rori instigating a splash fight between him, Lena and Niko in the baths.
• When Rori meets his Master for the first time, the first thing his new owner says is "Come closer. I don't bite. But I hear the same can't be said of you." As we've seen in a Flashback, there's a very good reason he would say that.
• This exchange, also from when Rori is meeting his Master for the first time:

  Rori: O-Oh, my God....
  Xávirac: Don't be so formal. Call me 'Master.'

• When Rori asks if he can go to bed, Xávirac tells him he's more than welcome to. Rori sheepishly admits he doesn't know where that is, so Xávirac tells Lilian, another pet, to take him to bed. Then stops and clarifies that he means Rori's bed and not hers, not even needing to look back at her to know what she was thinking.
• After Rori has picked out his clothes, Xávirac tells him to show him the back. Rori, realizing there's only one reason he would tell him to do that, shows him the back in the form of a quick and flamboyant twirl. Xávirac can't help but be amused by his pet's snark.
• This exchange:

  Rori: So...what's he like, Master?
  Xávirac: *Looks down to him and raises an eye ridge*
  Rori: Tavixis.
  Xávirac: He’s one of the nicer ones. And the youngest of us. He’ll show you proper respect, but will always expect the same for himself. He’s pleasant enough as long as he gets that. He enjoys the perks of his position a great deal. And he sees things in black and white.
  Rori: Great. He's like that.
  Xávirac: *Looks at him*
  Rori: He has a narrow view of the world.
  Xávirac: He's color blind.
  Rori: ...oh. *Snickers*
  

• Even more so when you realize Xávirac had no reason to say it that way except to make Rori laugh.
• After he bids Gloria goodbye, Rori goes to get a bath. Several pets join him minutes later, all of whom want to know how it went with Gloria. It's portrayed the same way as college kids wanting to hear about how their friend scored with a hot chick. Having tried his best to be subtle about it, he asks all of them how they knew he had the hots for Gloria and what they got up to. Whereas the others tell him that it was obvious the two of them were crazy about each other, Lilian simply touches her upper lip with her tongue. Rori looks down at the water, realizes Gloria's lipstick is still smeared all over his mouth, and hastily wipes it off.
• Late in the book, Xávirac hosts another Dragon Master, Satiirian. This exchange happens:

  Satiirian: *Looks at Rori* I see you brought me a gift!
  Xávirac: Yes. Give me your head for my trophy wall and he's all yours.
  Satiirian: *Strokes his chin* Having such a treasure is certainly worth the price! Pity I still need my head for the time being. For now, I must decline.

• After the above exchange, Rori is left unsure how to feel. On the one hand, the fact he even considered taking the offer baffled him. But on the other hand, Satiirian admitting he was worth giving up his head was very flattering.
