  • In a Flashback, Rori is captured and has his arms and legs restrained. A slaver approaches him to put a collar around his neck, believing that, since he's tied up, he's harmless. Rori is happy to prove him wrong by biting his hand as hard as he can, forcing him to yank it free and severely damaging it. As we see later, his hand never healed from it. And, though he learned firsthand not to mess with Rori, he kept doing so, earning new injuries every time.
  • When Rori gets the uncomfortable metal Slave Collar removed and has a new, fancy collar to replace it, Rori asks what he should do with the old one. "Get rid of it." Xávirac tells him. Rori looks at the collar, which now seems like nothing more than a small slab of metal. Remembering the one who put it on him, Rori growls and twists the old collar until he has ripped it to shreds, imagining he's wringing out that scumbag's neck the entire time. Xávirac is left impressed with his strength, and a little disturbed.
  • After spending so much of the story afraid, Rori showing no fear of his past tormentor before beating the shit out of him when he refused to leave him alone despite several warnings is a good showcase of how far he's come since arriving at his new home. Even more so when you realize that Rori did exactly what one is supposed to do in his situation, no more and no less.
    • Props to Xávirac, too. He kept a cool head the entire time despite the immense disrespect shown to him and his pet. And, with a single word, he stopped Rori from ending the man's life and stepped in to resolve the situation himself, sent Rori away to treat himself to something with only a few more words, and sent everybody else running rather than having to deal with him. He was in complete control of the situation the entire time.
  • Afterwards, Xávirac takes Rori out for ice cream. While he doesn't say it, there's no denying that he was incredibly proud of how Rori handled himself in the confrontation.
  • The two sex scenes are also a good showcase of how far Rori has come since the start of the story, and a sign that he has fully overcome his traumatic past.
  • In the side story, Satiirian effortlessly wiping out the slavers shows exactly why dragons should always be feared and respected.
