Funny / The Greatest Freakout Ever

Go To

Staged or not, one has to admit this series is, as Jack puts it, "pretty friggin' funny".

In general:

  • Any time Stephen breaks something.
  • Any time Stephen uses Gosh Dang It to Heck! speech.
"GET OUT OF MY FREAKIN' DARN FACE!"
    "YOU'RE A B-WORD AND I JUST DON'T LIKE YOU!"
    • Which makes it all the more shocking when he actually DOES curse.
  • Mr. Quire's responses anytime Stephen sets off his Berserk Button.
"BOY I CAN'T WATCH FOOTBALL FOR AN HOUR WITHOUT YOU BREAKING SHIT?"
"I CAN'T DRINK A DAMN MOUNTAIN DEW WITHOUT— WHAT'S ALL THIS SHIT?"

The videos:

  • Episode 1: Pretty much the whole video. Special mention goes to the infamous Ass Shove and the overall hilarious display of Angrish.
    • Even more hilarious is what transpired from Jack's perspective - he put a camera in Stephen's room, listened to the unearthly sounds coming from his room, then watched Stephen leave his room in his underwear. No wonder he was laughing when he took the camera back.
  • Episode 5:
    • "I WANT MY FREAKIN' TURKEY BREAST WITH FREAKIN' GRAVY!"
    • "YOU HAVE A FREAKIN' BONER FOR THAT FREAKIN' CAMERA; GET IT OUT OF MY FACE!"
  • Episode 6:
    • Jack and Stephen's sassy grandmother has many humorous lines, especially at the end;
      Grandma Quire: Where's the phone?
      Stephen: I DON'T KNOW!
Grandma Quire: You got it up your ass, too?
  • Episode 7: Stephen destroys a vacuum cleaner when he struggles to operate it. When his father threatens to "rip [his] freaking face off", he flees into the backyard, only to be attacked by a dog as he lets out some rather girly screams.
  • Episode 16: The entire video is full of funny comments.
Jack: Okay, Stephen's been taking culinary classes in school, and he thinks he's a chef now. So I'm gonna mess with him while he's cooking us dinner. (Walks into the kitchen where Stephen, wearing a chef uniform, is preparing the food.) Hey, Chef Stephen!
    Stephen: ...What?
Jack: What are you making there?
Stephen: ...What does it matter to you?
Jack: Oh, I'm just wondering what we're gonna be eating for dinner.
Stephen: Oh, like I'm gonna give you any. Douchebag.
Jack: Is it really necessary to wear that, uh, that whole little outfit there?
Stephen: Well, it's not like I'm like making cereal or toast or something you would make; I'm making manicotti with creamed chicken and artichokes.
Jack: (Confused) ...What? Wait, what? What is it?
Stephen: Manicotti with creamed chicken and artichokes.
    Jack: One more time.
Stephen: ...You're frickin' retarded; I'm not repeating myself.
    Jack: What is that?
Stephen: GO AWAY! IT'S MANICOTTI! WITH CREAMED CHICKEN! AND ARTICHOKES! WHICH ONE OF THOSE WORDS DON'T YOU UNDERSTAND?
  • Episode 17: Stephen is angry because his mom wants him to clean up after he cooks. Stephen's response? Wait until his mom is in the shower, then toss the cooking utensils into the front yard. One of them even gets caught in a tree.
  • Episode 20: Steven is causing trouble on a boat tour on his family's vacation to The Bahamas, where we get this gem:
Female Tourist: Is that your son?
(Jennifer Quire nods her head, embarrassed.)
    Female Tourist: I'm sorry!
  • Episode 24: It's revealed that Stephen sold his car to buy seats for the Batmobile he built in the previous episode so that he could take it to California in time for San Diego Comic Con, and he's urging his parents to drive him to the auto parts store to pick the seats up. Then there's Jack's response to when Stephen says he only needs one seat.
Jack: What about Robin? Where's Robin gonna sit?
    • Another priceless bit is the later exchange between Stephen and his dad.
Dad: You're gonna take the Batmobile all the way to California? 2000 miles without a roof over your head?
Stephen: Yes, I'm taking it to California! I am!
      Dad: What if it rains?
      Stephen: I don't care!
Dad: You don't care if it rains?
      Stephen: I. Don't. Care.
  • Episode 26: Though it might be a little cruel, Jack locking Stephen (who isn't even wearing a shirt) out in the snow is funny in a Black Comedy way.
  • Episode 34:
    • The episode isn't that funny on its own, but what is funny is Stephen sporting a Bob Ross look while painting. It actually works on him.
    • The eventual reveal of what Stephen was actually painting. It looks like a kindergartener did it!
  • Episode 37: Stephen going completely off the deep end when he has to raise an egg. Cue the reveal of him squatting over it, alone, in total darkness, in the family duck-house while wearing a duck mask.
  • Episode 38: Stephen tries to prove that he knows how to live "off the grid" by showing his garden of fruits and vegetables and a fish that he caught from a pond. However, he clearly failed to do his research when staging the scene; watermelon, corn cobs, and carrots are stuck haphazardly into the ground, and Stephen fails to realize that wild tuna comes from the ocean, not from a pond. When Stephen shows up, he's wearing a one-piece American flag print suspenders and sunglasses, screeching about how Jack and his ducks are "trotting through [his] veg."
  • Episode 39 (the McJuggerNuggets crossover): Stephen's freakout was so chaotic that quite a few fans felt it literally was the "greatest freakout ever".
