Funny / SMG4 Movie: Revelations

Go To

Even though this movie is by far the most serious SMG4 movie to date, it's still full of comedic moments, to keep the film from being too dark.

  • Bomberman gets sent flying into a wall from the gang breaking out of their imprisonment just as he was watching some funny videos.
  • While the apocalypse from the God Box being opened is a horrific sight, the fact that the last words from the old guy was a simple "oh ok" before he gets hit by a meteor is out and out funny. He survives too!
  • Even when he's saving their lives, Mario can't stop the Toad Abuse, singing as he kicks them into a garbage truck.
Mario: One potato, two potato, three potato, four!
  • During the evacuation, Bob is seen stealing Steve's life savings and Boopkins luring all the anime characters into the bunker by holding up a sign saying "Sexy anime protagonist here".
  • While the demise of the Box Club leader was pretty jarring (if well deserved) the fact that the Niles possessed Melony calls him an idiot for diving straight into the inside of the God Box is quite comedic.
    • Speaking of which, before that, the leader was greatly annoying Niles!Melony with his excitement to meet the God Box to the point where he gives him a pizza box to pass the time, which he plays with like a baby. Niles rolls his eyes, looking for all the world like an annoyed parent on a road trip.
  • It turns out that SMG1 and SMG2 hid the guardian pods under their mattress. Much to SMG4’s annoyance.
  • Mario's words in response to SMG4 wanting him to promise he won't mess up the mission if he agrees to let him move with them?
    Mario: penis
    SMG4: Good enough, hop on.
  • There's something oddly hilarious about the God Box, an Artifact of Doom capable of destroying entire universes, actually being just a box of old PC parts in Luke's office. Luke's nonchalant reaction to the box's evil red glow is equally funny, as are the characters' reactions to seeing him.
SMG3: What the heck is THAT?
    SMG4: He looks... strangely familiar.
    [...]
SMG2: The unfathomable being of the Great Beyond has shown us the way!
  • One of the first universes the trio went to as they search for Melony is just a forest with a bunch of banana meme people.
  • During the universe hopping montage, they come across a FNAF universe...where all the characters of the FNAF franchise are butt ugly versions of themselves, which is promptly nuked by the three out of disgust.
    • During that moment, they spot a ugly Toy Freddy having...uh...some mating time with an ugly Roxanne wolf.
    • Speaking of which, during the montage, they come across a universe of faced bread, a giant Marge Simpson-cosplaying Hank Hill chasing the trio, a brief trip to SMG2 and 1's destroyed universe with Mario flat out calling it boring, and a strip club full of skeletons, which Mario and SMG3 enjoy VERY much (SMG4 not so much).
  • During SMG4 and SMG3's experience with anti-meme energy, they inadvertently blow up a nice lobster family.
  • During the space battle the heroes fly through a world full of giant Hideo Kojimas.
    Kojimas: HELLO, MARIO.
    Mario: Hello!
  • While the build up to what Melony faces isn't funny during her fight inside her mind, the fact that it starts with a family of melons masquerading as Melony's family and a room with suited Axotols where she quietly and nervously closes the door was pretty goofy.
    • Melony isn't really sure if she ever had parents or not. Guess being a melon turned into a human can make your family tree a bit confusing.
    • Similarly, while Melony seeing a Zero-ified version of herself in the mirror is pretty terrifying, the thing it says to her softens it at least a little bit.
  • As SMG0 explains his backstory while the 3 men have tea, Mario straight up eats his whole cup!
  • When Niles re-merges with SMG0 and assumes their monster form once again, Mario decides to defeat it by... throwing a tiny rock at it, which works exactly as well as you'd expect. Zero's unimpressed look is what sells it, along with the aspect ratio briefly switching to fullscreen like a normal episode.
  • While Melony is fighting Zero and the SMGs can only look on.
    SMG4: I feel so useless!
  • Despite the overall intense tone of the part where Mario and his SMGs are trying to escape, there's this one good tidbit when they fly through Zero's ring shaped horn:
    1-up
  • SMG3 sacrificing Terrence in order to power Mario up with meme energy? Depressing stuff. Mario becoming a big Flying Face as a result? Hilarious!
  • Once all is done, Mario...asks if he can have spaghetti again.
  • During Melony's graduation speech, we see still images of the aftermath, from Chris and Swagmaster keeping an eye on the remnants of the Box Club as they clean up the mess they caused, Boopkins, Bob and Saiko rebuilding Peach's Castle, Luigi and Tari listening to Meggy talking about her completed Sport coach dream, SMG1 and 2 teaching Shroomy about meme energy, SMG4 sending the last of the dead memes back to the Internet Graveyard, SMG3 holding a funeral for Terrance...and Mario laying on a big plate of spaghetti.
  • As SMG4 and SMG3 link hands to summon a bus to return home after graduation...
    Mario: GAAAAAAAAYYY!!!
[... Mario gets smashed in the face by the meme particle the SMGs are manipulating]
  • In the Great Beyond, we see the God Box in flames... as in Photoshop flames with Luke wondering what the hell happened… and then he realizes he doesn’t actually need it anymore and casually kicks it aside. He then proceeds to advertise the movie's merch like nothing happened.
