- Meggy gets a special surfboard built by E. Gadd to mimic her lost Inkling powers. Unfortunately for the rest of the team, they're stuck with appliances. Luigi gets a swivel chair, Tari a keyboard, Mario gets a lawn mower, which he uses on his face.
- When Bob and Boopkins are singing Calamari Inkantation on karaoke, Bob sings that he doesn't know the words and begins singing the infamous "kid or squid" commercial jingle from the first Splatoon game.
- This line during the party after the training match:SMG4: So he told me to make a 40 minute movie, and I was like 'a movie?!' and then I cried for 10 hours.
- One of the obstacles faced in the first round is a sprinkler. Terrible for Inklings, but nothing to humans.Mario: (To the Inklings suffering) What a bunch of babies.
- In the second challenge, Luigi is surrounded by Squidwards out for his head. What does Luigi do? Tear off his clothes and reveal his muscular self. This scores big for the Splatsquad.Squidwards: OH NO, HE'S HOT!!!
- Mario comes up with an idea to kill more Squidwards, so he bounces himself in the sky with his "minigun", takes three Splat Bombs and yells:Mario: TACTICAL NUKE, INCOMING!
- After getting it stuck in the door at the start of the year, Mario suffers more damage to his pingas after falling from midair crotch-first onto the barrel of his gun.
- Toad looking very interested in the trophy which the Splatsquad won.
- Meggy is faced with the task of climbing a tall building surrounded by lava. How does she complete the task, considering her poor platforming abilities (as seen in the Smash Audition video)? Bouncing off the lava with a Pain-Powered Leap. Mario couldn't have been prouder.
