Murder In Progress

  • Tim's apartment password is AAAAAAAAAAAA.
  • Tim's Static Stun Gun starts buzzing while it's in his pocket. When he explains what the sound is, Eve answers "Oh, good. For a minute I thought this was about to get weird."
  • Eve's embellished memory of her first meeting with her boyfriend Dr. Albert Last in which he says he looks forward to meeting the rest of the staff "more intimately".
Tim: I pictured him giving you a leering wink right there.
    Eve: He didn't wink.
Tim: He sounds like a creepy old man.
    Eve: He was twenty-seven!
Tim: You made him sound like an eighty-six year old.
  • Tim and Eve's remote-controlled robot flee her apartment as Progress Security moves in. When Tim asks what Eve will say if she's caught, she answers "Beep boop, I'm a robot."
  • When Tim is arrested, he's asked to consent to a cheek swab, retina scan, and tranquilizing suppository to keep him calm. He accepts two out of three and he doesn't specify which ones.
  • Tim remembers an old case where someone got deported after being caught in a "compromising situation" with a girl from the Temple of Heaven and an off-brand jeeper. The charge? Trademark infringement.
  • Tim asks a computer where Eve Moore's hearing will be. The computer responds with the definition of the sense of hearing and an article about herring.

Fair Weather Foes

  • Beau gives encouraging words to Tropical Storm Zeke, which is contained in a laboratory and trying to become a hurricane. He's later thrilled to see Zeke actually become a hurricane, even though it's happening outside its containment field.
  • Tim says one of the offices he considers would make a decent broom closet...if you don't own too many brooms. And you're not worried about them getting depressed.
  • Tim wonders if a drone is being remotely piloted by a human or going on a preprogrammed route. How does he test this? By shouting "Who's that naked woman over there?!"
  • Tim grabs onto a drone and is flown over the whole airshow audience. He greets several people he knows, including his Uncle John and asks if his aunt needs help handing out Halloween candy this year.
  • In an emergency, Tim and Eve seek out Dr. Sig Knoll. When Knoll asks how they knew to find him at the bratwurst stand, Tim answers "Broad cultural stereotypes."

The Signal

  • Eve reminisces about a holiday in which her Aunt Carol presented them with a flow chart perfectly scheduling each course of dinner. However, it all tasted terrible.

The Infinite Journey

  • While trying to find a fourth player for their video game team, Tim and his friends run through a list of potential candidates. One is rejected because he spent the last game staring at the virtual clouds and asking how they were rendered while another was rejected for a "rodeo plagiarism scandal".
  • When they're about to enter a dinosaur-themed VR game, Dr. Eastman urges them to imagine themselves in a hellish world filled with boiling seas and exploding volcanoes. Tim's response? "That's not a nice way to describe Florida."
  • Tim notes that while Beau and Pauline fight off pterodactyls quite competently, Morris' strategy seemed to be informed by Mahatma Gandhi's doctrine of satyagraha. Unfortunately, the pterodactyls had not formed the proper respect for nonviolent resistance.
  • Morris, a member of Tim's team, dies in what's basically the game's tutorial.
  • Pauline hacks the game and gives an NPC dinosaur the ability to speak. It has the voice of an ordinary human woman. When Tim points out that it doesn't have lips, vocal cords, or anything else necessary to speak, the dinosaur answers that neither does he.
  • The team discusses the Fridge Logic of the game, which takes place in a dinosaur-themed world and involves reaching an ancient temple. Who built the temple? Do humans exist alongside dinosaurs? Or do dinosaurs have their own organized religion?
  • "Why did they program pain?!"
  • After Beau gets eaten by a dinosaur, they replay his death in slow motion from several different angles.
  • Eve is able to enter the game through the tiny microphone that Tim swallowed. This causes him to vomit her out.
  • Pauline meeting Eve. "Oh, you're the Technician of...Annie's sister!"
  • Pauline eats some virtual peanuts. "I'm allergic, but I'm pretty sure they don't exist."
