  • Heartwarming Moments:
    • Eve reminiscing about her relationship with her missing boyfriend Albert.
    • Despite Carol's apparently declining sanity, Eve decides to try and get her mental help rather than report her and get her fired.
    • Despite their rocky relationship, it's implied that Uncle John watches Tim's video game tournaments every year.
    • Pauline describing her love of old-school games.
    • After Pauline gains Reality Warper powers Inside a Computer System, the first thing she does is bring back Dina.
    • As Tim begins to dematerialize, he asks Pauline to make him a scotch with her powers. She gives him an entire bottle.
  • Ho Yay: The good-bye between Pauline and Dina sounds a lot like an Aborted Declaration of Love.
    Pauline: I...liked you.
    Dina: I liked you too.
  • Nightmare Fuel:
    • The plot of "The Signal", in which Carol is haunted by visions of a worker on a catwalk shouting down at her before someone dies in a monorail accident. It's the result of a faulty AI meant to predict accidents but which only "warns" people with the last thing they see before they die. Carol is eventually Driven to Suicide when she actually sees the worker.
    • The end of "The Infinite Journey" shows that Eve's Aunt Carol is still alive, though only as a confused computer file. Then Julia Io coldly deletes her.
  • Tear Jerker:
    • After shrinking down a highly expensive robot and losing contact with it, Albert decides to shrink himself down and look for it despite the fact they might also lose contact with him. Eve begs him not to and even insists on joining him but he refuses. The last thing Eve hears him say is "Marry me?"
    • Eve's Aunt Carol believes a mysterious entity appears to her days before a monorail accident happens. She tearfully begs it to tell her how to stop these accidents or to stop torturing her with the knowledge. She eventually kills herself by staying on the track as a monorail passes, staring up at the worker trying to warn her.
    • Eve meeting a Living Program who looks like her missing fiancé Albert Last. She begs him to remember her but he insists he's just a computer program.
    • Pauline begging Dina, a Living Program she befriended, to not be dissolved and reabsorbed into the main AI.
