The Fazbear's Frights books are home to probably the darkest, bleakest and most gruesome moments in the franchise, but that doesn't mean it doesn't have its humorous moments.

As a Moments subpage, all spoilers are unmarked as per policy. You Have Been Warned.

Fazbear Frights Books:

    Book 1: Into the Pit
"Into the Pit"
  • Mike and Chip talk about how they need to bring their new friend Oswald up to speed on recent movies...when in reality Oswald is from somewhere around 30 years in the future and all the movies they talk about are ancient history to him. For particular irony, Mike's favorite movie is Back to the Future.
  • Though the situation is terrifying for Oswald, the idea of the Spring Bonnie entity just casually going about the day pretending to be Oswald's dad is darkly amusing, particularly when you picture the creature vacuuming the rug and doing other household chores. This Reddit post provides a fairly accurate image of what it might have looked like.

"To Be Beautiful"

  • Abby's nickname for the popular girls is "the Penguins", on the grounds that they look vaguely cute but are otherwise completely indistinguishable.

"Count the Ways"

  • As disturbing as Millie's plight in the present-day portion of the story is, there's something amusing about how Funtime Freddy just keeps going on and on about the various execution options he offers, including providing historical anecdotes such as how King Henry VIII made boiling alive the official method of execution under his reign. For a murderous animatronic, he's surprisingly knowledgable about history!
  • In general, the fact that the Freddy animatronic Millie is trapped inside turns out to be Funtime Freddy can give the audience a bit of a chuckle. Upon reading the description of the bear once having been painted purple and pink, it becomes almost impossible to not reread all of Freddy's lines in the same "HEY BAWN-BAWN" voice he used in Sister Location.
    • Millie brings up that American culture is already too materialistic for Christmas presents, which causes all the adults to look very uncomfortable, pleasing Millie.

Epilogue

  • This exchange between Detective Larson and the chief provides a moment of levity in an otherwise serious scene:
Chief: (tossing an envelope on Larson's desk) The Stitchwraith. No one wants it.
    Larson: I don't want it.
    Chief: Tough.

    Book 2: Fetch
"Fetch"
  • Much of what Fetch does on behalf of Greg is either subtly creepy or overtly terrifying. Some of it, however, is strangely humorous on account of what Fetch is apparently capable of; special mention on this front has to go to the time Fetch was able to flawlessly translate a sentence into Spanish. Who knew that the killer robot dog would be bilingual?

"Lonely Freddy"

  • While forming the Counterplan with Hazel, Alec takes a moment to reflect on how many layers of complexity the current situation has:
Now he was fake-arguing that fake acting bad was the best way to counteract his parents' fake-anger at his real bad behavior. It was all getting very meta. Alec could feel a headache forming behind his eyes.

"Out of Stock"

Epilogue

    Book 3: 1: 35 AM
"1:35 AM"

"Room for One More"

  • The sheer thought of Funtime Foxy being a taxi driver is enough to send anyone in stitches when one imagines him/her/them/it/yes speaking to Stanley in the same voice as Ultimate Custom Night.
"The New Kid"
  • Mick's rather dated slang when expressing some of his moods can be hilariously awkward, especially when Devon seems to do the same thing around him and Kelsey.
Epilogue
  • A bit of Fridge Humor from this story: back in the second volume, Fetch appeared to be almost unstoppable, being perfectly capable of moving and even killing after sustaining what would seem to be critical damage; and yet when we next see Fetch in Epilogue 3, the animatronic dog has been incapacitated. How did this happen? What finally brought down one of the most physically capable animatronics we've yet seen in the series? According to Andrew, it got caught in a thunderstorm and broke down. Hardly the most dignified end for such an antagonist.

    Book 4: Step Closer
"Step Closer"

"Dance With Me"

"Coming Home"

Epilogue

  • When the Stitchwraith kills a man, a startled Jake asks what just happened. Dryly, Andrew responds that he doesn't know, because he can't see.

    Book 5: Bunny Call
"Bunny Call"
  • When Ralpho first shows up at the cabin, Bob opens the door and firmly tells him that he no longer wants to participate in the Bunny Call; there is a visceral sense of dread both leading up to this scene and in the actual confrontation. And then, after a moment of suspense...Ralpho nods and starts to walk away. Granted, it becomes clear very quickly that the situation isn't going to be resolved so easily, but for a moment it genuinely looked like the story's killer animatronic was about to politely leave when asked.

"In the Flesh"

  • Okay. Come on. Springtrap impregnates a man with Springtrap. That's at least a little funny.

"The Man in Room 1280"

  • After all this buildup, Afton just spontaneously explodes in the middle of a warehouse, splattering the priest with his gory remains. What a way to go out.

    Book 6: Blackbird
Blackbird

The Real Jake

Hide and Seek

Epilogue

    Book 7: The Cliffs
The Cliffs
  • The Tag-Along Freddy is just trying to tell Robert that his son is at the cliffs, but Robert is convinced that the thing is suicide-baiting him. So basically, the bear is saying "go pick up your son" and Robert responds with, "Shut up, I'm not gonna kill myself!"

The Breaking Wheel

He Told Me Everything

  • It's called Faz-Goo.

Epilogue

  • We have the... rather unique visual of Detective Larson strapping the Puppet to the front of a Forklift and ramming it into the fifteen-foot-tall Mechanical Abomination possessed by a weak-ass Afton going around calling itself the Agony, in the hopes of knocking the thing into the lake and drowning it.
  • After all this build-up, Afton's taken out pretty easily by the Puppet, the Agony tears itself apart, and yeets itself into the lake.

    Book 8: Gumdrop Angel
Gumdrop Angel

Sergio's Lucky Day

What We Found

Epilogue

  • The epilogue builds up the scene like Jake is going to kill the drug dealer to protect "Renelle." It turns out he doesn't... but instead burns the words "JUST SAY NO" onto his forehead. It's the best a nine-year-old whose only exposure to drugs was TV aesops could come up with.

    Book 9: The Puppet Carver
The Puppet Carver

Jump for Tickets

  • In the midst of an otherwise intense scene as Colton breaks into Freddy's at night, we have a moment of hilarity from the last direction you'd expect. As Colton prepares to tamper with the arcade game, Coils the Clown suddenly puts a hand on his shoulder from behind. Terrified, Colton slaps the hand away and tries to shove the clown animatronic... causing it to fly backwards, crash into an arcade cabinet, and fall onto the floor. Looks like not all of the Freddy's animatronics are as durable as the ones we know.
    • Even better? Coils is specifically described as falling so that he lands on his side. He got Yamcha-ed.

Pizza Kit

  • After the massive build-up that the titular pizza kit might be made of the flesh of Payton's missing friend, it turns out that Marley was alive and well the whole time - pizza from Freddy's is just that gross that it tastes like it was made with human skin.

Epilogue

    Book 10: Friendly Face
Friendly Face

Sea Bonnies

  • Mott's little brother loves his Sea Bonnies, to the point of writing a poem about them.
When I saw my Sea Bonnies, I felt love.
It was like a gift from Freddy above.
They’re super cool, and they make me glad.
I like that ’cause I hate being sad.

Together Forever

Epilogue

    Book 11: Prankster
Prankster

Kids at Play

Find Player Two!

Epilogue

  • Larson basically has to Boss Fight Eleanor four times in their mental battle before Jake can get up to kill her for good.

    Book 12: Felix the Shark
Felix the Shark

The Scoop

You're the Band

  • The image of Mike (possibly Michael Afton) just kinda hiding in some woman's bushes, under her porch, and in her attic when he could just ask her if she bought a haunted mask is very amusing.
