Funny / Dungeons & Doodles: Tales from the Tables

  • When Angela gets insults hurled at her for being an unoriginal human fighter... By a group of Tiefling rogues in a tavern full of other Tiefling rogues. Add to the fact that Luv'Ander (the purple Tiefling) is outright calling her plate armor sexist when he's wearing a Stripperific outfit and is played by a woman.
    • And right after being bullied, the final panel shows the outside shot of the tavern going up in blazes, with Angela being implied to have destroyed it herself.
The Forever DM: So about your alignment...
    Angela: I don't give a damn!
  • Despite being on the receiving end of Angela's rage, the Tieflings shrugged it off pretty well and forgave her when she apologised, telling her they have innate fire resistance.
  • Right as Redwen commends Angela, Spoony the bard attempts to seduce Angela, much to the chagrin of the DM who points out he cannot roll seduction checks on player characters. It ended up not working for him... Though he did gain pleasure from being stomped and smacked by three angry girls in their Pervert Revenge Modes.
    • Luv'Ander briefly changes to a more female form, covering her breasts while screaming "Pervert!" at the bard, which prompts Angela to remind his player that she's playing a male character.
  • As brave and well-armed as they are, the party in Episode 3 knows that Nothing Is Scarier, and huddle together in a formation when they check a dark room, which seems to have nothing in it according to the DM.
  • Angela finds herself all alone in the darkness, separated from her friends. She attempts to light a torch, then suddenly Redwen appears out of nowhere with her Glowing Eyes, scaring her out of her wits. All while telling her she has Darkvision.
  • Eriawynn in Episode 6 is shown crying "Cure Wound!" over and over as she casts the healing spell on Redwen. The latter reassures the former that the injury is not that bad (only 1d6 damage), while a handaxe sticks out of her skull.
  • When the party figures out a plan to circumvent the traps in a dungeon that Forever DM worked hard on, he adapts and improvises by replacing one of the chests with a Mimic, which the party indirectly comments on from sensing a sudden shift in challenge rating. The bonus panel shows the monster barking at the DM like an excited puppy while he shushes it.
  • How did Angela achieve paladinhood? A look-alike of Dante Sparda stole the party's loot, refused to assist them in a fight, and killed off an important soldier whom Angela was questioning for the location of her father's holding cell. She proceeded to snap and slice him in half with her first smite.
  • After reclassing from fighter to paladin, Angela discovers spellcasting and attempts to cast one of the spells from the paladin spell list. Eriawynn and Redwen could only watch in concern as she summons a horse inside the tavern they were sitting at. Her steed ends up causing a commotion and inadvertantly starts a Bar Brawl which Angela attempts to defuse with futility. Her party express a feeling that they are going to get banned from another tavern.
  • The running joke of Redwen having Darkvision continues in Episode 10, where she attempts to check for traps in a hallway without using a torch. Then she finds the hallway is all clear, only to step on a tile sets off a fiery a explosion that engulfed her. As her friends reveal to her the tiles were marked red, the rogue weakly mumbles, "I have... Fire... Resistance..."
  • As the party finds a dragon's lair ahead, Eriawynn and Redwen spin a scary tale about how dragons have a taste for the flesh of innocent, virgin maidens. While the two assures each other it is a good thing they are all grown, mature women, Angela looks understandibly nervous, and asks if she could stand outside and guard the entrance. Unfortunately, since she's the party's only tank at the time, the two end up dragging her with them to the lair while she makes a funny crying expression.
Angela: Noooooo!!! I don't want to be eaten!!!
    • Their expressions when they realise they have to help a dragon with family issues say it all.
  • Spoony asks Eriawynn to give him her blessings. Not just because he and Filia are now Happily Married, but also because he needs that +2 AC to prepare for a pair of Orc and Goliath barbarians whom he unwittingly provoked with his lame, offensive puns during his comedy routine.
  • The tavernkeeper mentioned in the second episode that he makes half of his total income from insurance. When the Session Zero tavern in episode 17 gets destroyed again, he is shown in the next panel carrying large bags of gold with a grin on his face while the dwarf insurance broker is Flipping the Bird at him.
  • When the party gets arrested by the Waterdeep City Watch for the tavern's second destruction, Angela and Eriawynn prove their innocence to the detective by convincing her their magic is nothing like what the dragon did to the tavern. Redwen on the other hand proceeds to ham it up with Thaumaturgy:
    Redwen:
NOT DARK, BUT AS BEAUTIFUL, AND TERRIBLE AS THE DAWN!
    TREACHEROUS AS THE SEA!
STRONGER THAN THE FOUNDATIONS OF TORIL!
ALL SHALL LOVE ME AND DESPAIR!
Aaand that's all I've got. That's my only spell.
    • And the worst thing about that spell? It's a cantrip; she can spam it all day, at any time. The detective puts her head down in her hands and tells the party to Get Out!.
