The show

    Season 1
  • "Chibi Godzilla of Monster Island"
    • How Chibi Godzilla wake up Chibi Mechagodzilla? By blowing a low-powered Heat Ray right onto the back of the robot's head!
      Chibi Mechagodzilla: (Wakes up) H-H-HOT!
    • Chibi Mechagodzilla introduces himself to Chibi Godzilla, who immediately loses interest.
    • When asked if he knows about humans, Chibi Godzilla lists off four facts about them. The kicker? Only the last one actually applies to humans, and the other three are about carrots. It's enough for Chibi Mechagodzilla to yell at Chibi Godzilla in frustration.
    • When Chibi Mechagodzilla reveals that he's a robot made by humans, Chibi Godzilla's comparison is... a bit weird.
Chibi Godzilla: If you're a robot, that's like an air conditioner!
Chibi Mechagodzilla: Why an air conditioner...?
    • The way Chibi Godzilla tries to call his dad, AKA the King of Monsters himself, Godzilla.
      Chibi Godzilla: Heeey Daaaaad! GODZILLA!
    • Chibi Mechagodzilla tries to befriend Chibi Godzilla, only for the latter to give a hesitant response.
      Chibi Godzilla: Um... Uh... Sure?
Chibi Mechagodzilla: WHAT'S WITH THE HESITATION?!
  • "The Three-Headed Scary God, Chibi Ghidorah"
    • Chibi Godzilla introduces things to Chibi Mechagodzilla, and it's mostly trees and grass...oh, and Chibi Ghidorah too.
Chibi Mechagodzilla Huh? He put his friend on the same level as trees and weeds...
    • When Chibi Mechagodzilla asks Chibi Ghidorah if they can be friends, the three heads of the latter say different things all at once and have to repeat themselves individually:
      • The center head, a friendly guy, accepts Chibi Mechagodzilla's offer, even going as far as to nickname the robot Mego-yan.
      • The quick-tempered left head gives the polar opposite response, even threatening to blast him with his Gravity Beams.
      • The right head, like the center head, responds in the affirmative to Chibi Mechagodzilla's request...only to quickly show off a dark side.
Chibi Ghidorah (right head): I said, "Of course." Friends are beautiful.
Chibi Mechagodzilla: Oh, the right head seems nice.
Chibi Ghidorah (right head): Friends can be made into money by having them be your guarantor when you're in a pinch.
        Chibi Mechagodzilla: Spoke too soon...
Chibi Ghidorah (right head): It's a deal. We are now friends. Let's help each other out NO MATTER WHAT, 'kay?
Chibi Mechagodzilla: The right one is the scariest!
    • When asked on what sights they would recommend to the robot on Monster Island, all three of Chibi Ghidorah's heads once again give different responses all at once. The center head recommends the scenery, the left head just says "I'll whack you" (much to Chibi Mechagodzilla's frustration), and the left head answers with Matsutake mushrooms. And Chibi Godzilla, whom the question wasn't even for, responds with the Dainashi Supermarket.
    • Chibi Godzilla mentions that Chibi Ghidorah's heads start fighting whenever there's food around, like Matsutake mushrooms. Chibi Mechagodzilla points out that they'd all get the same nutrition no matter who eats it. All three of them respond that they don't want to gain weight because of something someone else ate.
Chibi Mechagodzilla: The same from all three! But why now?!
    • Speaking of Matsutake mushrooms...
Chibi Godzilla: Matsutake are pretty rare. So they won't be easy to fin- (notices a Matsutake mushroom nearby) Whoa! There's one!
      Chibi Mechagodzilla: Already?!
Chibi Ghidorah (all three heads): It's mine! (they all bite each other) OW!
Chibi Mechagodzilla: (stunned) They bit themselves.
      • Chibi Godzilla then reveals that because the heads of Chibi Ghidorah share the same body, they all feel the same pain. Cue a shot of Chibi Ghidorah lying flat on the ground.
  • "The Resplendent Maiden, Chibi Mothra"
    • This episode introduces the funniest incarnation of the Shobijin to date. Not only do they act like gyarus when not doing their duty, but they also misinterpret Chibi Mothra's telepathy messages (and use confrontational and rude tones) to the point where the latter starts crying.
    • Speaking of which, Chibi Mothra's crying releases poisonous scales that knock out everyone around her (even Chibi Mechagodzilla, who is a robot).
Chibi Mothra: *sniffle* Nice to meet you, Chibi Mechagodzilla...
      Chibi Mechagodzilla: L-Likewise...
  • "The Ruler of the Skies, Chibi Rodan"
    • Chibi Rodan is about to ask if Chibi Godzilla, Chibi Mechagodzilla and Chibi Mothra (who are hiking) can fly, only to realize they can't, so he starts poking fun at them over it.
Chibi Rodan: Why don't you just fly— Oh wait, don't tell me... YOU CAN'T FLY?!!!
Chibi Mechagodzilla: SHUT UP! LIKE WE COULD!
    • The comparison between Chibi Rodan and Chibi Mothra's wings.
Chibi Rodan: Who could help it with wings... THIS BEAUTIFUL?!
Chibi Mechagodzilla: You brag like they're special, but you can fly too, right, Chibi Mothra?
      Chibi Mothra: Who, me?
Chibi Rodan: She might have wings, but mine are grander.
Chibi Mothra: (offended) What's the difference?
    • When Chibi Mechagodzilla says that Chibi Rodan's wings look plain, the latter plummets to the ground headfirst!
      Chibi Rodan: RO-DOOOWN!
      Chibi Mechagodzilla: What the-?!
    • The way Chibi Rodan is helped back up... that is, by having girls (Chibi Mothra for example) appealing to his ego with compliments.
Chibi Mothra: Hey, Chibi Rodan, you're so cool! Chibi Rodan, you're so popular!
      Chibi Mechagodzilla: What's she...?
Chibi Mothra: Super tall, mega wealthy, hot stuff!
Chibi Rodan: Ro... Ro... (springs back up) RODAAAN!!
    • Following the above, Chibi Mechagodzilla remarks that the kind of people who try to find validation through bragging are always the least popular, causing Chibi Rodan to have a second "Ro-down" moment, so Chibi Mothra has to get him back up again.
    • Chibi Godzilla takes offense at Chibi Rodan's remark that monsters who can't fly are as good as pigs.
    • The episode ends with one more "Ro-down" for Chibi Rodan— only this one is self-inflicted, as he realizes how bothersome he can be to other people.
  • "Monster Study Session"
    • The first question that Chibi Godzilla put out is which foe has been the hardest for Godzilla to defeat.
      • Chibi Mechagodzilla gives Mechagodzilla as an answer...only for Chibi Godzilla to say that it's totally wrong.
        Chibi Godzilla: WRONG. You're expelled!
Chibi Mechagodzilla: But I just started...
    • The second question is what feels the best to destroy.
      • Chibi Rodan's answer? Common sense.
Chibi Rodan: Destroying the fetters of common sense leads to free throught. THAT is the most feels-so-good moment, am I wrong?
Chibi Godzilla: You could not be any more wrong.
        Chibi Rodan: A-Are you serious?
      • The correct answer to the second question turns out to be prefabricated houses, in which they feel like a pressure point mat to giant monsters.
    • The answer to the third question (what made Godzilla want to go home the most) turns out to be when he burst out of the ocean facing the wrong way.
    • The episode ends with Chibi Godzilla revealing the subject of the next lesson: "Should we stomp them? Or chomp them? How to destroy trains with style!" Chibi Mechagodzilla immediately remarks that the class is not worth taking.
  • "The Roaring Dragon, Chibi Anguirus"
    • How the episode starts...
Chibi Godzilla: Today, I'll teach you how to get food here on Monster Island.
      Chibi Mechagodzilla: Oh...
Chibi Godzilla: I often use traps to capture my prey.
      Chibi Mechagodzilla: Oh yeah?
Chibi Godzilla: So, when do you think of my trap?
(camera zooms out, revealing that Chibi Mechagodzilla is caught in said trap)
Chibi Mechagodzilla: I would say it's very effective!
      Chibi Godzilla: Good!
Chibi Mechagodzilla: How is this good?! Why did you set it to catch me?!
Chibi Godzilla: I wanted you to see how powerful it is.
      Chibi Mechagodzilla: Lemme out already!
    • When a loud roar is heard, Chibi Mechagodzilla gets scared— even more so when Chibi Godzilla up and leaves on him!
Chibi Mechagodzilla: He's gone! That son of a theropod!!note
      • Chibi Mechagodzilla panics as he wonders just how big the inbound creature could be... and then it turns out the source of the roar is the very small (by kaiju standards, at least) Chibi Anguirus.
Chibi Mechagodzilla: Super small! He's not a big monster at all!
    • Chibi Anguirus having his voice broken becomes a big source of comedy in this episode as none of the other characters can understand what he says, even when they bring in the Shobijin.
      • At one point, when Chibi Mechagodzilla asks him what Chibi Anguirus is saying, Chibi Godzilla responds, "I don't know!"
  • "All Chibi Monsters Attack"
    • The episode opens on Chibi Godzilla, Chibi Ghidorah and Chibi Anguirus destroying a miniature city, much to the anger of Chibi Mechagodzilla, who spent a while working on that city.
    • Chibi Godzilla's face undergoes a brief Art Shift from repressing his desire to cause destruction.
Chibi Godzilla: (face turns realistic for a moment) Ugh! I wanna destroy so bad!!
Chibi Mechagodzilla: What the heck was THAT?!
Chibi Ghidorah: Godzi-yan's face turns realistic when he can't contain his destructive urges.
      Chibi Mechagodzilla: Say what?!
      • And then Chibi Godzilla gets so frustrated, his Heat Ray starts leaking out of his nose.
    • Chibi Godzilla tries to distract Chibi Mechagodzilla with a long flashback scene while wrecking the mininatures. It doesn't work.
    • After Chibi Mechagodzilla leaves the room, Chibi Godzilla and company continue trashing the mininature city. And then Chibi Mechagodzilla returns without any of them noticing, now with Glowing Eyes of Doom.
      Chibi Ghidorah: Oh.
Chibi Mechagodzilla: (blasts the three with Eye Beams, then turns around) Fix what you can. Got it?
Chibi Godzilla: Chibi Mechagodzilla is the one with the worst destructive urges...
  • "The Sage of Grudges, Chibi Hedorah"
    • Poor Chibi Rodan...
Chibi Hedorah: (pointing at Chibi Rodan) And you?
Chibi Rodan: It's me! We see each other all the time.
Chibi Hedorah: Oh, right, you are...
      Chibi Mechagodzilla: Zero recognition...
      Chibi Hedorah: Sorry, no idea.
      Chibi Rodan: RO-DOOOWN!!
Chibi Hedorah: He fell on the ground! How flithy! I cannot stand flith!
Chibi Mechagodzilla: But you're a sludge monster!
    • The reasons Chibi Hedorah gives for seeing humans as pathetic, like how they can't stop messing with their phones even if they need to wake up early the next day, or how they only exercise and eat well just before a health exam.
    • The episode ends with Chibi Godzilla and Chibi Mechagodzilla shocked to find out that Chibi Hedorah hasn't even met any humans at all.
  • "The Bewitching Rose, Chibi Biollante"
    • Chibi Mechagodzilla is not happy to find out that Chibi Biollante's snack bar only serves rice crackers.
    • This exchange:
Chibi Mothra: When my mind is tired, my skin gets all rough and dry too.
Chibi Biollante: Know what you need in times like that?
Chibi Mothra: Um... A holiday for the mind! Or something like that?
      Chibi Biollante: No, hyaluronic acid.
      Chibi Mechagodzilla: Hyaluronic acid?!
Chibi Mothra: Like, my mind is dry because the hyaluronic acid of the mind is lacking...?
Chibi Biollante: Totally wrong. Forget the mind. Your skin needs hyraluronic acid, plain and simple.
  • "Chibi Godzilla's Second Form"
    • The episode starts with Chibi Mechagodzilla startled to find Chibi Godzilla as a wriggling, beige fish-like creature with legs due to sleep sprain.
      Chibi Godzilla: Good morning!
      Chibi Mechagodzilla: Who're you?!
      • Even better? Chibi Ghidorah and Chibi Mothra reveal that this isn't the first time this has happened.
    • One of the upsides that Chibi Godzilla sees to his condition is... a little strange.
Chibi Godzilla: I can totally relate to slugs!
Chibi Mechagodzilla: How is that an upside...?
      • This becomes a Running Gag throughout the episode. While he's trying to return to his usual form, Chibi Godzilla comments that he's starting to care less about slugs.
Chibi Mothra: If his affinity for slugs is diminishing, he's improving!
Chibi Mechagodzilla: What kind of metric is that?!
      • After Chibi Godzilla's back to normal:
Chibi Godzilla: I feel sorry for slugs when they get salted...
Chibi Ghidorah: Oh no! He still cares about slugs!
        Chibi Mechagodzilla: That's irrelevant!!
    • Chibi Mothra suggests that Chibi Godzilla do some neck stretches to return to normal. Chibi Mechagodzilla is skeptical at first, but then...
Chibi Mechagodzilla: Stretching isn't gonna... (notices that Chibi Godzilla's head is changing color) He's turning green again?!
    • The episode ends with Chibi Godzilla turning back into the second form, this time with purple skin, as a result of bumping his knee. And if Chibi Mothra's comment is anything to go by, this isn't the first time this has happened either!
  • "An All-Chibi Monster Chorus"
    • The chibi monsters hum the songs with no lyrics, much to Chibi Mechagodzilla's dismay.
    • The Shobijin urge Chibi Mothra to sing next, but when Chibi Mothra picks out "Mothra's Song", the Shobijin end up singing it themselves instead.
      Chibi Mechagodzilla: You're singing anyway?!
Chibi Godzilla: Why did you try to make Chibi Mothra sing it?!
    • Chibi Anguirus's "singing" only consists of his usual roars.
  • "The War at Low Tide"
    • Right before Chibi Godzilla, Chibi Mechagodzilla, Chibi Ghidorah and Chibi Rodan can start digging for clams, Chibi Hedorah arrives.
Chibi Hedorah: Dooo nooot overdooo iiiit!!
Chibi Mechagodzilla: Holy—?! What is this, a horror flick?!
    • Chibi Hedorah slandering humans as usual.
    • Poor Chibi Rodan gets "Ro-downed" again, not once, but twice, as Chibi Hedorah still doesn't know his name.
      • The episode ends with this exchange:
Chibi Hedorah: Trash pick-up starts with picking up your own trash.
Chibi Mechagodzilla: Huh? I don't think we have any trash.
Chibi Hedorah: That thing. (pointing at the fainted Chibi Rodan)
Chibi Mechagodzilla: Can we give the poor guy a break, please?!
  • "A Mighty Monster's Instinct"
    • Chibi Godzilla accidentally fires a Heat Ray at Chibi Mechagodzilla when he sneezes.
Chibi Mechagodzilla: Your sneeze is blazing hot!!
    • The episode ends with Chibi Godzilla, having found out he isn't going through puberty and just has a cold, firing a Heat Ray at Chibi Mechagodzilla again.
Chibi Godzilla: We'll be together forever! I can rest easy knowing...
      Chibi Mechagodzilla: Huh?
Chibi Godzilla: (fires a Heat Ray at Chibi Mechagodzilla) ...that I can aim at you!!
Chibi Mechagodzilla: I TAKE BACK WHAT I SAID!!!

    Season 2
  • "Shin Chibi Godzilla"
    • Chibi Godzilla's introduction of Chibi Mechagodzilla is hilarious, as the former says that he and his friends don't know anything about the robot besides the fact that he washed up on the shore and loves to open fridges without asking. Chibi Mechagodzilla is not amused about that last part.
Chibi Mechagodzilla: Stop making me sound rude!
    • Chibi Godzilla reveals that he and Chibi Ghidorah snore, after which Chibi Ghidorah's left head makes this comment:
Chibi Ghidorah (left head): Fall asleep first or endure hell.
    • Chibi Rodan goes "Ro-down" yet again because Chibi Godzilla forgot his name. Then it turns out that Chibi Godzilla was just messing with him.
    • When a headache strikes Chibi Mechagodzilla as he tries and fails to remember what brought him to Monster Island, Chibi Godzilla mistakes the robot for a Chuunibyou (or for having Grandiose Delusion Syndrome in English sub), much to his chagrin.
      Chibi Mechagodzilla: I lost my...memory...
Chibi Godzilla: This must be...Grandiose Delusion Syndrome!!
      Chibi Mechagodzilla: No, it's not!!
  • "Chibi Minilla is a Big Girl"
    • Chibi Godzilla tries to teach Chibi Minilla how to deal with strangers...by firing a Heat Ray at Chibi Mechagodzilla, who clearly picked a bad time to show up.
Chibi Godzilla: See? Handle stranger danger like that.
Chibi Minilla: Um, I'm pretty sure that he was calling your name...
Chibi Mechagodzilla: (stands up) I'm not a stranger! Don't you heat ray me!
    • This exchange:
Chibi Minilla: I'm sorry my brother made such a ruckus.
Chibi Mechagodzilla: I gotta say, you seem much more reasonable than him.
Chibi Godzilla: That's right! She's MUCH better than that brother of hers.
Chibi Mechagodzilla: And by that brother of hers, we're talking about you!
  • "Smartphones are Handy"
    • The episode opens on Chibi Mechagodzilla, Chibi Mothra, Chibi Rodan and Chibi Anguirus at the beach, waiting for a tardy Chibi Godzilla.
      Chibi Mechagodzilla: Ngh... He's late!
Chibi Rodan: It's rare for Chibi Godzilla to be on time.
Chibi Mechagodzilla: He's the one who wanted to show us something...
    • Then Chibi Godzilla finally shows up, telling the robot that he did warn them yesterday that he would be late. The thing is, Chibi Godzilla said that before he went to bed, so he was just talking to himself.
    • Fortunately, Chibi Mechagodzilla already figured that this might happen, so he made smartphones for the chibi kaiju to use. However, when he hands them out to everyone, Chibi Godzilla quickly runs into a problem...
Chibi Rodan: And then there's Chibi Godzilla, who destroys everything in sight.
Chibi Godzilla: How rude! (he pulls out his broken smartphone) Although, yeah, this happened.
Chibi Mechagodzilla: You broke it already?!
    • The next day, Chibi Mechagodzilla is waiting for everyone else, as this time all of them are late. So he asks everyone in the group chat what happened...
      • Chibi Mothra messed with her smartphone all night. As an apology, she sends a cutesy picture of herself with stamps on it.
Chibi Mechagodzilla: How's it you have time for a pic?!
      • It turns out that Chibi Anguirus is well-versed in internet slang.
Chibi Mechagodzilla: Got something from Chibi Anguirus. Let's see...
        [Chibi Anguirus: Everyone's late? LOLZ]
[Chibi Anguirus: Hang in there, dude LOL]
        [Chibi Anguirus: ( • ∀ • ) つ旦 Some tea for you~]
Chibi Mechagodzilla: Chibi Anguirus is totally different online...
      • As for Chibi Rodan, well...
[Chibi Rodan: My face recognition isn't working]
Chibi Mechagodzilla: Really? I swear I set it up right...
[Chibi Rodan: It's cuz I got even more beautiful overnight!]
        (Beat)
Chibi Mechagodzilla: ...Left on "Read" by all four?! Someone say something!!
(Chibi Rodan sends a picture of the ground)
Chibi Mechagodzilla: Huh, what's this? The ground? (with realization) Oh no! He drove himself into the ground!
    • When Chibi Mechagodzilla asks Chibi Godzilla what he wanted to show the other chibi kaiju, Chibi Godzilla sends a pic of himself holding a smartphone he picked up on the beach the other day.
[Chibi Mechagodzilla: What did you want to show us again?]
[Chibi Godzilla: I found this on the beach the other day!] (along with a picture of him holding a smartphone)
Chibi Mechagodzilla: You're tellin' me you had one already?!

Others

  • The Chibi Kaiju Karuta short videos (which were uploaded onto Youtube by Toho Animation) contain several funny situations in several cards.
    • The "あ" card with the phrase "If you need to eat Anguirus, stew him in miso", showing Chibi Godzilla holding a canned meat with Chibi Anguirus printed on it.
      • What makes this funnier is that back in the day, toy manufacturer Takara did released several canned foods with Godzilla's kaiju printed on the packaging. One of which is a canned meat with Anguirus printed on it.
      • Even better, the "み" card shows Chibi Anguirus shocked about the canned food's existence, with the card's phrase "Stew in miso?!" being his response to said canned food.
    • The "さ" card with the phrase "Now just sign this contract, okay", has Chibi Ghidorah trying to convince Chibi Mechagodzilla to sign a paper contract. Considering the personality of the three-headed dragon's right head, that's probably not a good idea...
    • The "れ" card with the phrase "Just bring a practice target", has poor Chibi Rodan hit by Chibi Godzilla's Heat Ray.
    • The "も" card with the phrase "Morning routine", has Chibi Rodan getting knocked out by the poison scales released by a freshly-awake Chibi Mothra.
  • The Chibi Godzilla's movie manner video, a PSA about theater etiquette by Toho Cinemas in Japan, contains a few funny moments.
    • Chibi MechaGodzilla calling out almost everyone for doing things that not supposed to do while in theater, from Chibi Godzilla using smartphone to Chibi Ghidorah kicking Chibi Mothra's seat in front of him.
    • That is until Chibi Mothra has had enough and tells the robot that he's very noisy.
      • Unfortunately for her, the other four monsters (Mego-yan included) are all saying things too loud at the end of the video.
Chibi Mothra: Would you shut up already?!
