In General

    General
  • The setting itself of highly-resistant girls and firearms so common they can be bought at any convince stores can lead to absurd situations in the Main Volume and Event stories, such as a Kindergartener casually tossing a white phosphorous grenade INDOORS.
  • The tutorial introduces Relationship Stories by starting Yuuka's first story. Said story has Yuuka balancing Sensei's accounts and criticizing him for spending an exorbitant amount...on a gacha game. You read that right, a gacha game making fun of people who spend too much on gacha games.

    Character-specific
  • Airi's EX Skill is her throwing her Choco-Mint ice cream into the air, which a few seconds later lands onto the Area of Effect as a Massive scoop of ice-cream.
  • Fubuki's EX Skill is an Attack Up buff after a short delay, which seems simple enough. However she does this by casually laying down, eating a donut, and rolling onto her back to give a satisfied sigh all in the middle of a 'Gunfight'. Truly she can skip work anywhere.
  • Haruna's goal of Gourmet research often goes into weird territories from trying to cook Coq au Vin using grape juice and ethanol as a substitute for wine, cooking instant ramen with high end ingredients and tools to give it refinement, to trying to instill love into Macha chocolates to counteract its bitterness, and of course her several accounts of blowing up restaurants that didn't pass her grade.
    • Haruna's New Year Alt's EX skill gives us a scene of her digging into a osechi, before being disappointed with the fried shrimp. She then slowly brings up a detonator. Her chibi presses it as the "Eat or Die" motto of the club fades until only DIE remains before the explosives on enemies denotates.
  • Juri's sheer misfortune with cooking pretty much anything. Having her simply make orange juice causes severe food poisoning, stirring a pot will make the food taste off, and the numerous times she had creating living pancake monsters with one growing as large a building! Still, whenever she uses her EX skill, enemies are still drawn to the spot where she drops her Pan-Chan, which in turn poisons them.

Main Story

    Prologue
  • After projecting the air of a professional giving Sensei an introduction of Kivotos and an awe-inspiring view of the city from the elevator, Rin's attitude changes to annoyance when she finds the academy representatives complaining about the current crisis in Kivotos. Her constant slips about her irritation of them just goes to show how overworked she is hearing all of them out.
  • Momoka nonchalantly telling Rin that the SCHALE building is occupied and that the city was already a dump before the crisis, before hanging up on Rin to go get the food she ordered. Sensei has to tell her to calm down once an angry vein shows.
  • How do we get our first squad of students? When Rin's plan to get to SCHALE gets setback, she looks towards the Academy Representatives (Yuuka, Hasumi, Suzumi, and Chinatsu) to their increasing concern. She then enlists them to take back SCHALE.
  • While it's meant to showcase the durability of Kivotos's students, Yuuka's reaction to being shot with hollowpoint bullets is to declare banning them in Millennium, as if she had been shot with a BB gun!
  • Wakamo, one of the infamous Seven Criminals that broke out of the Corrections Bureau and looking to sate her revenge on the GSC with SCHALE's destruction, stands paralyzed by Sensei when they meet face to face in SCHALE's basement, before meekly running off with her tail between her legs. The reason for the change of heart is later revealed when she debuts as a playable student is that she fell for Sensei at first sight.

    Volume 1

Chapter 1

  • From the first episode straight off, Sensei receives the call for help from Abydos and confidently heads over. Then they get lost for days in its abandoned district, out of food and water and pitifully collapsed on the ground according to Shiroko when they first find them.
    • Shiroko offers them her bottle to drink, only for Sensei to directly drink from the bottle; its owner's blush implies it's an Indirect Kiss.
  • The first reaction from the Foreclosure Task Force when Sensei meets them while being piggybacked by Shiroko is for everyone to think their clubmate kidnapped someone, or worse, found a dead corpse. Serika then asks for a shovel so they can dig a hole and bury the corpse.
  • Episode 8:
    • The FTF's meeting to figuring out how to solve their debt leads to interesting suggestions.
      • Shiroko suggests going to rob banks, having made a super detailed plan and even ski masks ala Payday; Serika suggests getting germanium bracelets to help them get lucky, which turns out to be a scam; Nonomi suggests they become idols to attract people's attention; and Hoshino suggests hijacking a school's bus to force them to enroll in Abydos. Sensei even goes along and can decide which they can do!
      • After getting annoyed with every idea being presented, Ayane prematurely ends the meeting by flipping the table in a burst of rage. A trip to Shibaseki afterwards has her sulking and denying she's angry.
    • Then there's your first meeting with Problem Solver 68 at Shiba Seki. In the last episode they were seen casually taking care of the Helmet Gang, projecting an intimidating and professional air, who are now being set against the Task Force. Bad news? Hm...
  • As Foreclosure Task Force had found out that the debt they paid often went to a black market bank owned by Kaiser Corporation, so they needed to get the transaction document from the bank. Needless to say, Shiroko excitedly put on her mask to announce that they rob the bank. They even dragged poor Hifumi they met along the way to join in and gave her a paper bag for the mask since they didn't prepare enough for the heist.
    • As it happens, Problem Solver 68 happened to be in the said bank by coincidence to ask for a loan. While Kayoko and Mutsuki immediately saw through their disguise, Aru not only just as clueless as when they were back in Shiba Seki but admires them for the heist they pulled off. Aru was once again shocked by their identity after she was informed in the next episode.
    • Then Hoshino gives the nickname of Faust to Hifumi as their so-called leader to her shock and dismay.

Chapter 2

    Volume 2

Chapter 1

  • The beginning shows Sensei waking up in the Game Development Department. Why? Because Momoi managed to throw a console from their club's window and hit Sensei in the head, knocking them out.
  • When Yuuka asks for reasons to why the GDD club should still function, they say they won a great award! Sensei then asks if they got a trophy to show, leaving them suddenly dead silent.
    • Then later we see what award they won exactly... The Worst Game of the Year Award, which doesn't help the precarious situation of their club getting shut down.
  • Momoi losing her precious save files so they can download G.Bible.
    • Later, when they go to Veritas to ask to decipher G.Bible password, the first thing Momoi asks Hare before that is if they can recover her save files. Hare says they cannot recover them, to Momoi's despair.
  • After finding Aris, the twins aren't sure what to do with her. So Momoi decides to bring her to the club resulting in Midori choking her for bringing a stranger to their club.
  • Awakening without anything in the way of common sense, Aris's speech is no different from a robot's and she even tries to eat money and an exclusive console. After the Department leaves her a couple of video games for 'education', they find her busting out JRPG lines and referencing one video game trope after another ever since.
    • As it turns out, Aris's video game-y speech is actually what convinces Yuuka that she's a genuine gaming club member, thus giving the GDD her seal of approval over something they did on accident.
  • Neru being always called tiny, despite being a 3rd year and even by her own underclassmen because of her height.

Chapter 2

  • When Rio deploys Avant Garde, Momoi immediately calls it weird while Midori notes it isn't an ordinary design. Rio tries to brush off the comments, showing Sensei a more illogical side of her.
  • Akane, Karin, and Asuna manage to reunited with Neru after Toki tried to separate them using Eridu's moving walls. Toki asks them how they managed to navigate the maze, in which they respond that they simply followed Asuna as she wandered the maze, to the bafflement of Toki. Goes to show how absurdly lucky Asuna is as usual.
  • After rescuing Aris and stopping Divi:Sion attack on Eridu, Yuuka busts in the President's room to have a stern talking to her for her resignation only to find she's nowhere to be seen. Noa points out a note and Yuuka reads: "Sorry." Yes, it's just one word.
  • Toki with bandages casually appearing in the C&C's welcome back party for Neru, just a few days after they tried killing each other. This doesn't get past Neru, yelling why someone who tried to kill her is celebrating her own party! Meanwhile, the club members don't mind and treat Toki as their own immediately despite previously being their enemy and not knowing her much.

    Volume 3

Chapter 1

  • As Nagisa tries to explain what is the Make-Up Work Club, Mika keeps on interrupting her, which eventually leads to Nagisa's Rage Breaking Point before she threatens to shut Mika's mouth with a cake roll. Once Mika was quieted, Nagisa apologizes for her outburst.
  • The introductions each member of the Make-Up Work Club as they were picked up for studying.
    • When Sensei and Hifumi get the JTF Club room to pick up Hanako while she was detained for "disorderly misconduct", where Hanako explains it was strolling in public in a swimsuit. It also appears that Koharu had forgotten to lock Hanako's cell door.
    • The next member —Azusa— wearing a gas mask as she is escorted in by Hasumi and Mashiro. Azusa, had earlier occupied a tear gas storage building while fleeing the JTF, then held out for 3 hours using tear gas grenades, bombs, and various traps to resist arrest.
    • When Sensei and Hifumi said that they were taking Hanako and Azusa for Make-Up Work Club, Koharu laughs at their misfortune, before Hifumi speaks up that Koharu was in the Club as well to her shock.

Chapter 2

  • The Make-Up Work Club's infiltration into Gehenna Academy to take their second exam has a lot of moments.
    • In the first scene, Hifumi tries to explain to Prefect Team members why they need to enter the school to take their exams. Hifumi is telling the truth, but the Prefect Team members don't believe her due to how ludicrous it sounds.
    • The second scene has Hifumi, Koharu, Gourmet Research Society, and Fuuka in a car chase. They are being chased by the Hotsprings Development Department. Hifumi and Koharu are clearly troubled by the explosion and chaos surrounding them, but the Gourmets aren't even bothered by the explosion, all the while Fuuka is asking to be let go. Azusa proceeds to radio in, explaining that she and Hanako are surrounded with Iori and Megu approaching them from opposing sides. She says they will attempt a breakthrough and get to the meeting point. Hifumi's final dialogue is the crowning moment of funny:
Hifumi: We're only trying to take an exam! That's all! WHY IS THIS HAPPENING?!
    • The third scene has Hifumi and Koharu reach the meeting point, only to meet Hanako in her swimsuit and Azusa with her gas mask. Hifumi is curious about what happened, but decides not to ask. We never find out what happened.
    • Despite the club reaching their destination at last, the Hotsprings Development Department blows up their building and makes them fail the exam by losing their exam papers in the explosion no thanks to Nagisa's manipulations.

Chapter 3

Chapter 4

  • After having a serious mental break down, we get treated to a comedic yet terrifying scene of Mika casually breaking out of her cell, picking up her firearm, and strolling out of prison, much to the shock of a stunned Trinity officer and a student outside her cell. Even with Mika's overwhelming strength and her going on a Roaring Rampage of Revenge, she's still the ditzy Trinity girl we know.
  • Upon reuniting with Hiyori, she realizes that Sensei and Saori (who shot Sensei) are here to rescue her together. Hiyori wastes no time speculating that Sensei has come to punish Arius Squad and drag her off to a secret torture chamber in the SCHALE building's basement. Who knows how this rumor has started or spread all the way to Arius or it's something Hiyori thought about.
  • Once Beatrice is defeated, Golconde & Decalcomania go pick her up but not without commenting on how Beatrice was neither the Protagonist nor the Antagonist, but merely a "Plot Device", to the irritated groans of Beatrice.
  • As the chapter ends, we get a comedic scene of Saori's introduction to the criminal world.
    • We get to see Saori's more gullible side as she got scammed by her black market employer, who reduced her paycheck to nothing through various fine print details in her contract.
    • Then walks in Haruka, where after Aru was scammed similarly by the same employer to check whether the calculations were done correctly... by shooting the employer and rigging the building with explosives. Haruka then realizes Saori is in the room with her, apologizing for the interruption. Once Haruka leaves, Saori stands there amazed by how the criminal world works.
    • We cut back to Problem Solver 68's office as it turns out that Aru was being literal when she wanted to get her point across and have the job's calculations redone. The Chapter then closes on Aru's flabbergasted face.

    Volume 4

Chapter 1

  • After managing to obtain the oil barrels, RABBIT finally settles down for a long-awaited bath... until Sensei ruins the moment with their commentary, reminding everyone of their existence, the player probably wondering why they're still there, and the RABBITs reacting quickly with Moe glaring and ready to throw an incendiary grenade.
  • Kirino and Fubuki try to stop RABBIT Squad from leaving the building with the incriminating evidence of Valkyrie's rebate. Emphasis on "try": Fubuki dives for a donut laid out for her and eats an explosive, while Kirino tries to replicate the shooting skills that downed Miyako, only to keep missing when the operative merely walks off this time. Meanwhile, Fubuki plays dead to avoid more trouble.

Chapter 2

  • When Miyako and Sensei attempt to infiltrate the Kousagi train station, a police officer catches them: Descartes. Yep, he got a job after being successfully rehabilitated by Kaiser to dress in a proper police uniform and become a productive member of society, probably one of the vanishingly few helpful things Kaiser has ever done. It doesn't last long once Miyako briefs Kaya and Kaiser's plan to nuke Kousagi, prompting Descartes to immediately shed his uniform for his old clothes and decry Kaiser as an example of evil capitalism, which would make anyone wonder whether he was actually rehabilitated at all.
  • How RABBIT Squad gets into the command center of the Kaiser secret base:
    • Upon Kurumi's incapacitation, Otogi readies to snipe Saki, but before she does that she wonders about where counterpart sniper Miyu is—upon which said sniper says hello behind her. A shocked Otogi asks how she sneaked up on her, but Miyu was simply finding a spot to snipe from and coincidentally found Otogi. Before Otogi is knocked out, she questions if Miyu's actually a ghost with unfinished business.
    • When Moe tries to hack into the elevator, she finds it turned off by Niko. This does not stop her and even makes her salivate to the confusion of Niko. Moe then announces to Niko she's about to use 10 POUNDS OF SEMTEX on the elevator, which despite Niko thinking it's a bluff, follows through with the detonation. Saki later just exasperatedly remarks on the destruction.
  • In case anyone's forgotten, the Kaiser General and his Special Forces got their metal behinds handed to them by RABBIT Squad in Volume F, so it's baffling to see General still think he can take them even after hearing FOX going down to their juniors. Sure enough, the rabbits gun them all down like annoying flies in a single scene in their rush to keep Kaya from escaping. Even in the following combat instance, there isn't a map stage, but instead a single generic run-through. It's made all the more cathartic with the EX cost gauge on Fever Time, letting you dole out EX Skills within seconds just to underscore how outclassed Kaiser is this time.
  • Kaya admitting that one of the reasons she doesn't like Rin is because she's more stacked than her. Everyone points out how petty and ridiculous it is.
  • At the end, with Kaya and the FOX Squad arrested, Moe goes to the SCHALE headquarters to have a shower...

    Volume F

Chapter 1

  • There's something satisfying about seeing a guy get full of himself, only to be proven wrong a moment later. That's what happens to General, a puffed-up commander who made preparations to stop RABBIT Squad and Sensei with his special forces, only to lose without much difficulty on our heroes' part, and doesn't even get to enact the backup plan of blowing up Schale HQ when Miyu surprise-snipes him.

Chapter 2

  • When Arius Squad gets Sensei's message, they soon encounter a suspicious Helmet Gangster, who is obviously Saori, in which Misaki immediately shoots her with her pistol before asking who the Helmet Gangster is while Astuko joins in. While this could be Misaki being precautious, it could be Misaki getting payback for Saori leaving Arius Squad to her before leaving.
  • The Pandemonium Society's genius plan to evacuate people to gain votes? Having Satsuki use a Hypno Pendulum of course! (It doesn't actually work, and the people just followed along because she was interesting, to Satsuki's disappointment.)
  • When deciding what to enlarge to tackle the False Sanctum empowered Perorozilla and rather than a tank or helicopter to fight it, Sensei offers something else. We then cut to the Kaiten Rangers readying their new Mech: Kaiten FX Mk.∞. Then Sensei says a line right out of Super Sentai, to the confusion of Himari and Chihiro.

Chapter 3

  • When the Ninjutsu Research Club finally meets Nagisa, she insists she isn't the Vice-President of Hyakkaryouran Conflict Resolution Council, but merely a cosplayer. This is despite being in the middle of nowhere in the Great Snowfield while wearing a Hyakkaryouran uniform without any photography equipment. The jig is up when Michiru remembers her after she collapses.
  • Before raiding a Kaiser PMC facility for a way to reach the Ark, the Foreclosure Task Force (minus Shiroko) don their Masked Swimsuit Gang masks to avoid a repeat of stepping on Kaiser territory, before Ayane points out that Kaiser had left it... after she puts on her mask. They then take off the masks while noting Ayane was willing to wear her mask when everyone else wore theirs, to her embarrassment.

Chapter 4

  • The look of fear and horror on Fuuka's face when Haruna enlists her to drive to disable the Ark's self-destruction system.
  • The gameplay juxtaposition of Sensei against Phrenapates in the climactic duel has the serious, tragic, and dramatic air undermined by Phrenapates taking out his own Adult Card and effectively turning the fight into a PVP match. The symmetry even extends into the second phase of the battle, as Phrenapates spends almost all of his remaining Pyroxenes to whale hard in order to power Shiroko Terror up - when you receive his old Adult Card as a keepsake at the end of Volume F, there are only 1200 pyros left in it, enough for a 10-roll, adding a little levity to the tragedy.
  • Shiroko gives her Terror counterpart a welcoming gift to Kivotos: her blue bank robber's mask. They then discuss their hobby of bank robberies to a piano rendition of Unwelcome School called Welcome School, making for a jarring juxtaposition of heartwarming music being played to a discussion between potential criminals. As much as it's a touching moment, it just goes to show that Shiroko will always be Shiroko, no matter the reality.

Event Stories

  • The concept of Trinity's Extracurricular Activities, for one the fact that Hanako managed to drag not only Koharu, but Hinata, and even Ui to adventure in a tropical deserted island, but also that when they go there they have to face against The Dreaded Justina Council, who for some reason are also wearing swimsuits.
  • In one of the afterword episodes of Kivotos Halo Festival, Sena admits to having a false preconception of the Remedial Knights and realizing she was wrong after working with the Remedial Knights during the Halo Festival. She then proceeds to list the rumors that caused her preconception, unknowingly listing the stranger traits of every member of the Remedial Knights accurately, all the while Serina becomes increasingly nervous as Sena goes on:
Sena: I foolishly believed the rumors that when the leader of the Remedial Knights was involved in a case, the number of wounded would actually increase. People often whisper, "The leader breaks, so her knights heal..." But after seeing the work you do here, I simply cannot believe that a group so kind-hearted would be led by such barbarous tactics.
    [...]
Sena: I must admit, I've even heard of a Remedial Knights nurse who attempted to cure a sleeping disorder with the aid of a baseball bat and wolfsbane tea, worsening their conditions.
Serina: Ah...Ahaha... Yes... You know how facts can be distorted through the rumor mill...
Sena: I would agree. You've shown me today that rumors are simply rumors.
    [...]
Sena: Yes. They say there is a Remedial Knights nurse who appears whenever she is needed, like a medical ghost. They even go so far as to claim that this nurse provides aid to patients before they can even press the call button and then disappears as if she were never there.

Other Content

    Official content outside the game
  • In the first anniversary's celebration livestream, the producers are given cheeseburgers that are said to be inspired by the Gourmet Research Society, even though it's insisted that they're just ordinary cheeseburgers. Everyone is understandably wary, the burgers getting passed back and forth, so they vote Kim Yong-ha to try it first. He eats it... and finds it's actually good; an inspection of the insides reveals chocolate, just like Izumi's chocolate burgers. Then he stops eating, saying that he has to before he "enlightens" himself out of the livestream.
