"High tech, low life."
Mike Pondsmith, Cyberpunk creator on defining cyberpunk.

Cyberpunk is a multimedia franchise originally created by Mike Pondsmith.

Starting with R. Talsorian Games' Cyberpunk, the setting sees the player as anything from a mercenary to a vagabond trying to make it in Night City, a place where mega-corps rule. Along with multiple editions released later, there was also a video game, Cyberpunk 2077, a series of comics from Dark Horse Comics, a novel, and an anime, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners.

The original version of Netrunner was set in the franchise before Fantasy Flight Games bought the rights and changed it to be based on Android instead.
