The Scarehouse is a 2014 Canadian horror film directed by Gavin Michael Booth.

Two friends (played by Sarah Booth and Kimberly-Sue Murray) open a Halloween fun house on Devil's Night and invite six of their former sorority sisters, presumably for a party. As these six young women arrive one by one, their hosts confront them with a troublesome past. They soon find out that what they have been invited to isn't a party—their hosts intend to get revenge in a violent and twisted manner.

The Scarehouse contains examples of:

  • All Part of the Show: Two students named Billy and Stu think the torture they see is just a "scare house" display.
  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing:
    • Pretty much all the sorority girls are this, but especially Katrina and Jacqueline. During the time Corey and Elaina were in prison, Katrina seduced the latter's boyfriend, Matt. And Jacqueline was the one who came up with the idea to pin Brandon's accidental death on the two girls. She and her father bribed the other sorority members $40,000 each to back up the story.
    • Corey is revealed to be this at the very end, by tricking her best friend into killing herself so she could pin the murders of the sorority members on her, and get off scot-free for enacting her revenge.
  • Cruel Twist Ending: Corey never intended to follow through on the suicide pact with Elaina after completing their revenge. She simply fell to the floor, her noose not having been secured, while Elaina hung there, slowly suffocating. Corey then picks up a knife, wraps Elaina's hand around the handle so it would have her fingerprints, and stabs herself, making it appear like she’d been attacked. She then leaves Elaina for dead and smiles before stumbling out of the fun house screaming for help, having seemingly gotten away with multiple murders, pinning it all on Elaina.
  • Deadly Prank: Throughout the film, we're shown brief flashbacks in the form of Found Footage showing what led to Corey and Elaina's 2-year incarceration; as a hazing prank, they drugged a fellow college student named Brandon, painted his face and took selfies with his unconscious body. Brandon wound up choking on his own vomit, and the girls were arrested for manslaughter.
  • Driven to Suicide: It's revealed that Corey's mother swallowed a bottle of pills after Corey and Elaina were arrested. It's part of the reason why Corey is so determined to see their revenge plot through to the very end.
  • Every Man Has His Price: It's revealed that Jacqueline's father paid each of the sorority members $40,000 to pin Brandon's death on Corey and Elaina, so his daughter wouldn't end up in jail. Corey later lampshades how Jacqueline's father could be hiding much more dirty dealings than that, since there's no feasible way he would've been able to bribe the sorority a combined total of $200,000 on a pastor's salary.
  • Fan Disservice: The Cold-Blooded Torture Corey and Elaina give to naked sorority girls is a complete turn-off, especially with Katrina getting her breast implants ripped off and getting choked to death by one of said implants.
  • Fanservice Faux Fight: Averted. Kaitlyn and Shelby are forced to have a pillow fight for their lives, but there's a twist; their pillows are laced with powdered acid.
  • Of Corset Hurts: This is how Emily is tortured by Corey and Elaina, and ultimately dies.
  • Preacher's Kid: The sorority president, Jacqueline, is this. Corey uses this to her advantage after The Reveal; Lisa has her and Elaina at gunpoint, demanding that they call the police and turn themselves in, and to stall for time, Corey threatens that she'll expose what Jacqueline's father did, and the scandal that could come from that.
Corey: If I call the police, I’m gonna have to tell them about your Daddy, Jackie.
Jacqueline: My father's a good man.
Corey: I'm not sure your Christian convincing will be seen the same by the public. They'll see it more as a guilty girl's dad who bought the silence of five other girls, framing us in order to save his precious little daughter. How holy! Praise the Lord!
Jacqueline: The church will stand true!
Corey: Or they'll turn on him when they learn how dishonest he is. "What else is he hiding?" they'll whisper. "Are there little boys in the church basement after dark?" "Where did all this payoff money come from on a pastor's salary?" (fake gasps) "Has the collection plate been a little bit light?" Think about it, Jackie…
  • Pre-Mortem One-Liner: Corey gives one before pushing Jacqueline into the bathtub with the still plugged-in TV.
  • The Reveal: Shelby was lying when she told Corey and Elaina it was Katrina who came up with the idea to pin Brandon’s death on them. Lisa reveals that it was Jacqueline. Her family paid the other sorority members $40,000 apiece to corroborate the story she came up with.
  • See You in Hell: Elaina says this to Katrina right before killing her.
  • Spanner in the Works: A random drunk wanders into the scare house. Corey kills him without telling Elaina, foreshadowing her ultimate plan.
  • Too Dumb to Live: Sure, Katrina, just brag to one of the girls who is mutilating you that you slept with her boyfriend during the time that she was in prison. I’m sure that’ll end great for you…
Katrina: Elaina, you know how Matt kept visiting you in jail those first few months? Yeah, I fucked him every night when he got back. Told him everything was going to be okay. He confided in me. Why do you think he stopped visiting, huh? I helped him get over you, like the rest of us did.
  • Wham Line: "I'll miss you." Said by Corey to Elaina after she's just tricked her into committing suicide and is about to frame her for the murders of the other sorority sisters.
  • Wounded Gazelle Gambit: This is what Corey had planned all along in the end, as shown above.
