"I think I might have feelings for someone I've never met."
"These texts you're receiving are saying something. Things like this don't just happen. Love has a plan for each and every one of us. You need to pursue this."

Love Again is an 2023 Romantic Comedy film. Directed by James C. Strouse, it is an American remake of the German film SMS für Dich, itself adapted from the novel of the same name.

Mira Ray (Priyanka Chopra) tragically loses her beloved fiance. In an attempt to heal, she begins texting romantic messages to his cell phone number. Unbeknownst to her, these messages are being received by journalist Rob Burns (Sam Heughan). Rob is also currently tasked with profiling Céline Dion (played by herself), who becomes involved with making sure Rob and Mira connect for real.

The film was released on May 12, 2023. Its soundtrack also features five new songs written by Dion.

Love Again contains examples of:

  • Adam Westing: Céline Dion makes her acting debut in this film as a more flamboyant, nosy, and self-absorbed version of her regular public persona.
  • Animal Motifs: Mira writes children's books about a butterfly hesitant to leave its cocoon, which is also a metaphor for her being unwilling to move past her grief.
  • As Himself: Céline Dion stars as herself.
  • Foreign Remake: The American English-language remake of the German film SMS für Dich.
  • Gory Discretion Shot: John dying at the hands of a drunk driver is offscreen; the camera instead focuses on Mira's reaction.
  • The Lost Lenore: Gender-Inverted. Mira's beloved fiance John dies at the beginning of the film, and Mira trying to move on from him is the plot.
  • The Mourning After: After her fiance dies, it takes Mira two years of cocooning herself in the country before she tries to get back out there.
  • Mythical Motifs: Mira grieving her fiance's death is explicitly likened to the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice, except she (unlike Orpheus) chooses to get over it rather than take extreme action.
  • Rom Com Job: Mira is a children's book writer and Sam a journalist, both artistic and flexible careers that give them time to fall in love through romcom hijinks.
  • Second Love: The premise of the film is about Mira moving on from her fiance's death and finding love again with Rob.
  • Tagline: "Destiny has a plan".
