The Eggman Alliance is a Sonic the Hedgehog fanfiction written by CVGW James.

The plot is simple; as the title implies, Dr. Eggman teams up with multiple versions of himself across The Multiverse to destroy his blue nemesis and Take Over the World, from Classic Eggman to Boom Eggman to their relatives to even at least one never-before-seen version of the mad scientist. Sonic is going to require a multiversal teamup himself in order to take on Eggman this time around.

James started the story on June 10th, 2022, finishing it with a total of 40 chapters on April 17th, 2024.

You can read it on FanFiction.Net here, or on DeviantArt here.

The Eggman Alliance contains examples of:

  • Actor Allusion: In Chapter 16, Movie Robotnik suggests the alias "Jim Truman", as a reference to The Truman Show. Jim Carrey played both Robotnik in the live-action Sonic movies and Truman Burbank.
  • Alliance of Alternates: The basic premise of the story, as not only does Eggman ally himself with his multiversal counterparts, but so does Sonic. Amy and Knuckles would later join the fray with their own counterparts.
  • Bad Future: In a nutshell, this is what becomes of Silver's time should the Eggman Alliance succeed.
  • Big Bad: Dr. Eggman, of course, the "main" version of which is the ringleader of the Eggman variations.
  • Big Damn Heroes:
    • On Chapter 18, Doom attacks Angel Island for the Master Emerald, and Knuckles is given assistance from his Boom, Classic, and Lego counterparts.
    • Chapter 27 sees the overwhelmed heroes be rescued by Knuckles and his variants, as well as Boom Sonic's Team, the SatAM Freedom Fighters, and Fleetway Sonic.
  • Damsel in Distress: Amy gets kidnapped by Metal Sonic in Chapter 29. Both versions of Princess Amy would later get kidnapped as well in Chapter 32.
  • A Day in the Limelight:
    • Chapter 21 focuses on Shadow pouring an Info Dump on the Babylon Rogues as he searches for the Black Emerald.
    • Chapter 22 focuses on the Freedom Fighters from Sonic the Hedgehog (SatAM) as they search for their version of Sonic.
    • Chapter 34 sees Sonia and Manic looking for Underground Sonic, i.e their brother, and tracing him to the Eggman Empire HQ.
  • The Dragon: Come Chapter 4, Mama Robotnik becomes the second-in-command to the "main" Dr. Eggman.
  • Dude Magnet: Princess Amy #2 has gained the attraction of quite a few Sonics.
  • Everyone Has Standards: When he hears about how apathetic his Boom counterpart is in Chapter 28, Shadow admits that he wouldn't go that far, due to his promise to Maria.
  • Greater-Scope Villain: While the titular Eggman alliance takes up the bulk of the story, there's also the Eggnikbrid, serving as more of an Ancient Evil, as well as the Final Boss.
  • Hey, That's My Line!: When the Sonics are off to save Westopolis from the Eggmen in Chapter 8:
SatAM Sonic: It’s time to juice and jam!
Underground Sonic: Isn’t that my line? Oh, what the heck? ITS JUICE TIME!
  • Hypocritical Humor: Eggman Nega at one point asks Sonic if the Eggmans "look like comic book villains"note ... when the character has made appearances in various comic book adaptations of the Sonic franchise. Not only that, but Fleetway Robotnik is specifically from a comic series.
  • Motive Rant: Mama Robotnik gives one in Chapter 11 as to why she joined the Eggman Alliance. In all caps, too.
  • The Multiverse: Not surprisingly, considering the author, the multiverse plays a big part in the story, on both the heroes’ and the villains’ end.
  • My Eyes Are Up Here: Princess Amy #2 says this when she's talking to the heroes in Chapter 12 and the "main" version of Sonic can't stop looking at her body.
Myrule Sonic: He meant no perverted offense, my princess.
  • Mythology Gag:
    • A council of other Eggmen is also a thing in Sonic Prime, something the author notes in Chapter 3’s DeviantArt description.
    • AoSTH Robotnik calls Sonic a "stupid blue pingas" in Chapter 3.
    • Shadow says his "Cowards run, I win" line from the IDW comic series in Chapter 5.
    • Shadow says this in reference to Shadow the Hedgehog in Chapter 21:
Shadow: Where’s that damn Black Emerald...?
  • Oh, Crap!:
    • Boom Knuckles utters "oh shit" in Chapter 25 upon realizing that the monstrous Eggman-like entity was an extra-dimensional ravager-conqueror.
    • Sonic in Chapter 28 when he realizes he forgot the Chaos Emerald.
  • One-Word Title: Chapter 4 is titled "Regrouping".
  • Original Generation: It’s not just "official" versions of Eggman that get a crack at Sonic; Eggmandorf is a version created by the author specifically for the story. On the heroes’ side, there’s Green Tunic Sonic and Princess Amy Rose, both from Eggmandorf’s universe. That universe is Myrule, a Sonic-ified version of Hyrule from The Legend of Zelda.
  • Recap Episode: Much of Chapter 6 is the alternate Sonics describing the events of the universes they came from. This is a Shout-Out to a similar scene with the alternate Spider-Men in Spider Man Into The Spiderverse.
  • Save the Villain: Boom Sonic catches Mama Robotnik as she falls of a shuttle in Chapter 10.
  • Shout-Out:
  • The Starscream: Eggman is unaware that SatAM Robotnik and Eggmandorf are scheming behind his back, until it officially happens in Chapter 37.
  • Take That!:
    • A brief one in Chapter 3, where Shadow briefly states that he has no friends and Team Dark doesn’t exist before immediately admitting he’s kidding, a jab at Sega retconning away both of those things.
    • Naturally, Sonic's old movie design is referred to as Ugly Sonic. This isn't the only instance of his appearance being roasted, either.
    • There's a bit in Chapter 33 about the Freedom Fighters not slowing down Sonic. According to the author, this is a jab at what Ian Flynn said on the Bumbleking forum years ago about Sally slowing Sonic down and complicating him when discussing why Sonic and Sally don't work as a couple. It's also a jab at s Sonic fan's claim that Yuji Naka voiced his dislike for the Freedom Fighters and stated they slowed Sonic down.
  • Villain Opening Scene: The first chapter consists of Dr. Robotnik, frustrated after one too many losses against Sonic, accessing the multiverse and assembling his doubles.
  • Villainous Breakdown: It's Dr. Robotnik, so regardless of which version, losing his temper at his plans being hindered in any way is to be expected. Chapter 11 is dedicated to this, with several versions of him arguing with each other.
  • Villain Team-Up: What gets the story started, as Eggman allies himself with multiversal versions of himself to destroy Sonic the Hedgehog.
  • Wham Episode: Chapter 37 is where things truly heat up. In it, Eggmandorf and SatAM Robotnik get started summoning Eggnikbrid.
