Go To

Soundwave Familiar is a crossover between Transformers: Prime and The Familiar of Zero written by ConnorShover on Wattpad.

Synopsis on Wattpad: Trapped in the Shadowzone by the Autobots and their human pets, Soundwave wanders aimlessly on the Nemesis, Earth, and even the new Cybertron. He becomes angered and disheartened with his fate until he hears a disembodied female voice in a language he recognizes as French calling out to someone. After which a portal opens, itching to escape this hellish dimension, he touches the portal, being brought into a world filled with the creatures ever hates most...humans...that can fly?! What will the ex Decepticon Communications chief do in a world of magic and monsters as a little pink haired girl's "Familiar"?

Tropes:

  • Abhorrent Admirer: Kirche is this to Soundwave, though she tones down her Stalker with a Crush tendencies later on after realizing that her first attempt to seduce him was beyond reprehensible.
  • Adaptational Nice Guy: Louise is much nicer to Soundwave than Saito in canon. At first, it is mainly out of fear of the Decepticon, but she later grows to respect him.
  • A Form You Are Comfortable With: Soundwave creates a smaller human form for him to use via Shockwave's techno-organic fabricator that he finds while exploring the city due to his actual form being much too large for practical use. From the looks of things, the only way it hinders him is that his human form cannot transform, though he still has his special visor and Combat Tentacles.
  • Asshole Victim: Count Jules de Mott dies with little fanfare due to the fact that his favorite pastime was making younger women his Sex Slaves after tricking them into being his "servants". Most tellingly, Soundwave simply lets the count's previous victims put him down themselves instead of killing Jules himself.
  • Badass Boast: Soundwave lists off his various experiences to Mr. Osmond when he signs himself up to hunt down Fouquet
Soundwave: I have a history of cyberwarfare, covert operations, and espionage, the tracking, housing, and oversight of the incarcerated, military planning, information gathering, and interrogation. Over my 9-million year military career, I have had 146,598 confirmed kills by my hand alone, led troops into battle, and hunted the most dangerous of individuals on my homeworld Cybertron. There is no being on this planet who is more qualified to hunt down this thieving, sniffling primate than I am.
  • Berserk Button: Harming Laserbeak is one considering that he's the last of Soundwave's Minicons by the events of the story. Fouquet pressed it when she injured Laserbeak prior to her unmasking by Soundwave and Tabitha.
  • Beware the Quiet Ones: Soundwave himself might as well as be this trope personified thanks to his combat skills and cold ruthlessness that he still retains even after becoming Louise's familiar.
  • Break the Haughty: In canon, Louise is so arrogant and egotistical, especially towards her familiar, that one could almost call her insufferable. Given how said familiar this time is a towering killer robot who could toss her across the room in his human form, she quickly begins treating him with more respect.
  • Character Development: While still as emotionless as ever, Soundwaves grows to care for the people he befriends and is enraged when Fouquet dares to threaten them.
  • Cold-Blooded Torture: Soundwave makes sure that Fouquet suffers for her crimes by first slapping her in his true form hard enough to inflict crippling injuries before using his own Energon to permanently blind her in one eye.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle:
    • Guiche challenges Soundwave to a duel, believing him to be an easy target and a mere peasant. Soundwave immediately trashes his Valkyries and forces him to submit.
    • Soundwave thrashes Count Mott in his duel against him before leaving him at the mercy of the count's former victims.
    • Fouquet attempts to use the Staff of Destruction against him after she is unmasked, earning herself a dose of Cold-Blooded Torture from the former communications officer of the Decepticons for her troubles.
  • Death by Adaptation: Starscream was presumably Killed Off for Real by Predaking, Darksteel, and Skylynx as payback for all of the abuse he heaped onto them before Soundwave was summoned by Louise.
  • Double Standard Rape: Female on Male: Averted; Soundwave is clearly traumatized by Kirche's attempt to rape him when Louise rescues him.
  • Do with Him as You Will: Soundwave leaves Count Jules de Mott at the mercy of all of his previous victims after defeating him in a duel and taking all of his assets.
  • Dreaming of Times Gone By: Louise ends up glimpsing into Soundwave's past memories in her dreams thanks to his connection as her Familiar.
  • Everyone Has Standards: Soundwave is absolutely disgusted at Jules de Mott's lavish and disgusting taste in decor after he inherits the dead count's mansion and orders them replaced with simpler items.
  • Forceful Kiss: Kirche gives Soundwave one before Louise shows up just in time to rescue him from being raped by Kirche.
  • Like Brother and Sister: Soundwave and Siesta have this relationship. Or maybe something more than that.
  • No-Sell: The Staff of Destruction proves ineffective against Soundwave after Fouquet is unmasked, though given that it's basically an Earth-made rocket launcher, it's failure to damage Soundwave is to be expected given the durability Cybertronians are known to possess.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Soundwave is clearly shaken by Kirche's Attempted Rape even after Louise rescues him in time.
  • Red Baron: Soundwave is referred to as the Dark Knight among the common people.
  • Shout-Out: Soundwave bears quite the resemblance to Sebastian Michaels in his human form, which is only shown when he takes off his visor.
  • Time Abyss: Soundwave's had a lot of years under his belt thanks to being part of a race of giant transforming robots who are extremely hard to kill.
Kirche: Darling... how old are you?
  • What Is This Feeling?: Seemingly a side effect of his new organic form. Through his time in his human body, Soundwave begins experiencing emotions he never experienced before, especially fear during Kirche's attempt at raping him.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: Soundwave is not pleased to learn that Montmorency made a love potion to keep Guiche from cheating on her, stating that her actions were nothing short of reckless due to how love potions amplify human lust and hormones to unnatural levels, resulting in chaos and tragedy from the overcharged emotions that people who consume it go through.
