Fans of Sonic know that E-123 Omega made his first appearance in Sonic Heroes… but what if he made his first appearance earlier during the events of in Sonic Adventure?
Dr. Robotnik has yet another plan to Take Over the World. He plots to unleash the ancient god Chaos upon Station Square. During this planning, he also creates the last unit in his E-series model machines, E-123 Omega. The robot swears loyalty to Robotnik and will annihilate anyone in his way, but much like in canon, his loyalty to the mad doctor may be put to the test somewhere down the line.
James started the story on March 11th, 2021, and finished it on August 4th, 2023.

Sonic Adventure AU Omega's Story contains examples of:
- Big Bad: Dr. Robotnik, as usual. His scheme of releasing Chaos is the story’s driving force.
- Breather Episode: Chapter 23 is a relaxing break from several action-filled chapters, featuring a reunion between Omega and Shirley Bodacous at Emerald Coast. Lampshaded in the chapter's description on DeviantArt.
- Dimensional Traveler: At the end of the story, Omega goes through a portal to another dimension... specifically, Dimension #5251, the basic premise for a bigger story the author has planned for the future.
- Distressed Dude: Froggy is in Omega's captivity for a good majority of the fic.
- Hot Springs Episode: Chapter 9 takes place at a pool in the Station Square Hotel.
- Insistent Terminology: A somewhat downplayed example. While Dr. Robotnik is most commonly referred to as such, the heroes refer to him as Eggman, and he’s called Eggman in the story’s description on FanFiction. Humorously, the author stops himself from calling him Eggman in one of the chapter descriptions on DeviantArt.
- Mythology Gag:
- Gamma coming for Froggy in the Mystic Ruins shortly after the Master Emerald shatters is a reference to Archie Sonic.
- Omega’s interactions with the hotel guests in Chapter 9 was inspired by those of Gamma. In both cases, a Killer Robot interacts normally with human citizens who don’t seem especially intimidated by their presence.
- Sonic says this in Chapter 13 referring to Sonic X... more specifically, his final line in the final episode.Sonic: Watch out, Eggman! We’re comin’ at you full speed!
- Also from Chapter 13, Sonic talks about seeing Omega in landfill, which is a loose reference to the Sonic Boom episode "FiendBot".
- For more references to Sonic X, Sonic asking Perfect Chaos "is that the best you can do" is a reference to "Flood Fight", where Sonic says the same thing to the beast.
- No Title: The chapters aren’t titled in the story.
- Pet the Dog: Robotnik firmly reminding Omega that Gamma is just as useful to the doctor’s plans as Omega is makes Gamma feel relieved. Robotnik also removes Omega’s weapons so he doesn’t obliterate Gamma when they battle.Gamma: I am starting to respect this massive robot that is my brother.
- Shout-Out:
- Omega, a Killer Robot, screaming "EXTERMINATE!" at times refers to the Daleks, another type of Killer Robots.
- You might think Knuckles saying "this is the way" is a nod to the Ugandan Knuckles meme. But actually, it's a reference to The Mandalorian.
- Eggman makes a reference to Return of the Jedi in Chapter 13.Eggman: May the fools witness the firepower of this fully operational airship!
- Chapter 26 contains a reference to The Sega Scourge, with Big telling Omega not to steal Froggy this time calling back to "What if E-123 Gamma Survived?"
- The Stinger: The story ends with a teaser of E-123 Omega returning in "ANIMATED GRAPHICAL PIXELATION GALACTIC INVASION", a big story the author has planned for the future.
- Unusually Uninteresting Sight: Like in canon, the hotel guests don’t seem at all intimidated by the Killer Robot interrogating them in Chapter 9.
- Villain Opening Scene: The first two chapters consist of Dr. Robotnik’s creation and training of Omega, respectively.
- You Have Outlived Your Usefulness: Defied. Omega’s first interaction with his "little brother" Gamma is to warn him that he’s about to be outdated. Robotnik firmly tells his newest creation that Gamma is just as useful as Omega.
