- Bittersweet Ending: The episode tries to pull this off with Chris leaving the other characters back to his world (possibly never able to return), and Eggman resuming his plans to build the Eggman Empire, with Sonic and friends getting ready to stop him.
- Broken Tears: Poor Tails completely bawls his eyes out upon finding out that all that's left of Cosmo is a seed.
- Grand Finale: The very last episode of the series.
- Love Redeems: Following Cosmo's sacrifice, Luke/Lucas reappears, reformed and repentant, realizing the errors of his ways as Dark Oak and the fact that his lust for power destroyed his own people and only brought pain and suffering to the universe. A vision of Hertia/Earthia appears before him and gives him a second chance, redeeming him, after which then he happily reunites with Hertia and they both depart for the afterlife.
- Not Quite Dead: The final shot of Cosmo's seed sprouting vaguely implies that she will return from death at some point.
- Percussive Prevention: Super Shadow punches Super Sonic out of the way, and uses Chaos Control to save everyone from the exploding Planet Egg.
- The Reveal: The Japanese version reveals the locket Rouge holds as blackmail to Bokkun has Cream's pictures in it, meaning that Bokkun has a crush on her.
