Meet Spines Rose, son of struggling single mother Amy Rose and a hedgehog who's softer than he looks. Also meet Alice Acorn, the princess of Acorn who's tougher than she looks. Two students, but one secret that makes them linked to one another. How could this have happened? Has Amy been keeping something hidden from her son?

- Face of a Thug: Spines was born given the appearance of a Werehog, due to his father's leftover Dark Gaia energy, which scares almost everyone around him. However he's actually a nice guy beneath it all.
- Jerkass: Alice is the girl who usually fights anyone who stands in her way. She's also loud, brash, arrogant, and has a temper on her, however she warms up. Topaz also counts.
- Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Shadow gets one as well for making sure that Alice is to return home safely, despite threatening his son that he won't be allowed in the house until he does.
- Momma's Boy: Spines absolutely adores his mother and wants to become a better person for her. Justified since she's the only one he had growing up.
- Supreme Chef: Spines loves to cook and mainly does the cooking while his mother is working.
