My New Life as a Pony, is a My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic fanfic written by Banshee531.

The human Bradley Sengood sacrifices his life one day to save a pregnant mother and her child from a runaway car. Upon his death he is visited by a being called Faust, who recognized his heroism and offers him the chance to be reincarnated and live the life as of a hero he's always wanted to be. Bradley chooses to go through with it, and finds himself reincarnated as an anthropomorphic pony, named Flash Sentry.

Now, Flash Sentry begins his quest to become a true hero by becoming an adventurer and helping those that can't help themselves, making many friends and enemies along the way.

The story was completed on May 20, 2023. A sequel is planned for eventual release in the future.

  • Accidental Pervert: A bit of a Running Gag has Flash ending up in situations like this.
    • At the end of "Bonding with a Princess, as a Pony", Luna accidentally falls onto Flash in the back of the truck and realizes that her chest landed on his face. She quickly gets off him and apologizes, with Flash blushing red and attempting to hide his crotch by crossing his legs.
    • Later in "Lakeside Adventure, as a Pony", Flash saves Luna from drowning and carries her to the surface. When Luna comes to though she realizes where Flash is clutching her and quickly pushes him away from her, with Flash blushing and apologizing.
    • When Team Relic and Luna complete their expedition and use a warp gem to return to the academy, they all end up crashing to the ground in a heap with Flash at the bottom. When trying to free himself he feels something soft and squishy in his hands, before he hears Luna and Trixie cry out, causing him to pull his hands away before they realize who touched them and quickly pulls himself out of the pile.
    • In "OVA 2", first Flash ends up accidentally teleported with Cadance and her falling on him. He ends up having to protect her from the attacking slimes and repairing her damaged clothes. During the climax of the chapter when Flash destroys the Mega Slime, its destroyed body accidentally splashes on all the girls too, causing him to see them all naked. Though to be fair, they all get a look at him naked as well, and are impressed by what they see.
  • Adaptational Name Change: The various races of the ponies have their names changed in this setting. Pegasi are now called "Avians", Unicorns are "Magi", Earth Ponies are "Terrans", and Alicorns are "Omnis"
  • Affectionate Parody: This story is based on the multiple "Isekai" stories and anime, where the main character is transported or reborn in a new world. Brad even name drops this term in the first chapter. It includes several famous staples of the genre, such as a powerful weapon only the main protagonist can use, the world having minor JRPG mechanics, and the main protagonist gaining a pet or servant of some kind.
  • Broken Pedestal: Flash and the girls are disgusted to learns Starswirl's Descendant, who created many impressive spells that are still used today, turns out to be a sick pervert who creates the maze so he can have naked mares on his walls.
  • Clingy MacGuffin: The relic that Flash obtains refuses to be moved anymore than 10 feet away from Flash before magically reattaching itself to him.
  • Cosplay CafĂ©: Team Relic decides to do a maid cafe for the school festival, with Trixie and Wallflower dressing as cute maids. However, they demand Flash, Soarin, and Springer all dress as traditional butlers in exchange.
  • Dead Guy Junior: Faust claims that the pregnant mother Brad saved will have a boy and will name her new child after Brad.
  • A Dog Named "Dog": It is revealed that the previous owner of a Jakhowl Esprit didn't care enough to give it an actual name and simply named it "Jakhowl". This is deconstructed as it is shown how abusive and uncaring this actually is for the Esprit. When Flash forms a true bond with it, he chooses to give it an actual name, naming him Springer.
  • The Dreaded: Slimes are this surprisingly. Despite being the weakest monsters in existence, they are known as "the bane of mares" due to how they destroy clothes by touching them. Even Omnis like Luna and Cadance are terrified just from seeing one.
  • Dramatic Irony: After leaving the maze, the girls all agree to never speak of the experience ever again, forcing Flash to agree as well. Unknown to them however, after they all leave their naked images are all magically added to a blank area of the wall, with the four girls surrounding Flash with looks of amazement on their faces, making them look like a harem.
  • Face Your Fears: Wallflower faces her fear of water in order to save her team and Princess Luna from an Achilles Tentacruel.
  • Fire-Forged Friendship: Flash works together with Trixie Lulamoon, Wallflower Blush, and Soarin Skies so they can all pass the entrance exam to Manehatten Adventurer's Academy. They all decide to keep working together as a team afterwards, going by the name "Team Relic".
  • Hate Sink:
    • Iron Core's Magi Teammate is an arrogant prick who looks down on Team Relic and came off as a Sore Loser when Team Relic won the contest. Even Iron Core and his team can't stand him and didn't back him up when Team Relic were willing to fight him after he kept talking bad about Luna.
    • The previous owner of a Jakhowl's spirit was abusive and uncaring toward the espirt.
    • Starswirl's Descendant was a pervert and sick old man who created the maze to target mares for his walls' collection.
  • Horsemen of the Apocalypse: Discussed briefly. When Soarin, Trixie, and Wallflower all start to think that Princess Luna might want to reclaim her lost power and become Nightmare Moon again, Soarin says what if she is using them to do it, and if she succeeds then Team Relic will go down in history as "the four horses of the apocalypse".
  • Jerkass Realization: Soarin, Trixie and Wallflower immediately feel guilty over their accusation toward Luna when she risks losing her magic to protect them, and all three of them apologize to her.
  • Knights and Knaves: While exploring the labyrinth, Flash comes across two doors, one blue and one red, and sees instructions explaining one leads to his goal and the other his doom and must question the guardians of the doors while being told one tells only truth and the other only lies. He solves it the classic way of asking one what the other would say and then doing the opposite.
  • Let Us Never Speak of This Again: After escaping the maze, the girls agreed to never talk about the whole experience ever again, especially the part about being naked after Mega Slime destroyed their clothes, and make Flash agree to this.
  • Morph Weapon: Luna upgrades Wallflower's gauntlets so that she can feed it material from monster drops to change it into other weapons that take on properties to the material.
  • Obliviously Evil: Luna encounters a golem that was created by Nightmare Moon. It recognizes her as its master, but declares that her current form is "corrupted" because it thinks Nightmare Moon is her pure form, so it tries to "save" her by "purifying" her into Nightmare Moon again, not realizing it is the one corrupting her.
  • Psychic Nosebleed: Luna pushes herself to hold up the magical shield keeping Team Relic safe from the Sulphur gas so much that she gets a nosebleed.
  • Pyrrhic Victory: How the battle with the Mega Slime ends. Flash, Trixie, Wallflower, Luna, and Cadance all battle it together and try to destroy it before it can dissolve the girls' clothes. Flash eventually flies right into it and destroys its nucleus. This causes the Mega Slime to explode, but as a result it splashes all the girls, dissolving away their clothes and causing them and Flash to become completely naked, to all of their embarrassment. Furthermore, unknown to the five of them their naked images were all magically added to the wall of the room after they left, making the girls all seem like Flash's harem.
  • Reformed, but Rejected: After Luna's reformation as Nightmare Moon, many ponies still see her as being evil and believe she is bidding her time before she strikes again. Even Soarin, Trixie, and Wallflower briefly doubt her and wonder if she is just using them to get something.
  • Reincarnate in Another World: The main premise of the story, given it's an Isekai inspiration. Bradley Sengood performs a Heroic Sacrifice to save a pregnant woman and her child from being killed and is thus given the choice to pass on to the afterlife or be reincarnated in a new world for a second chance at life. He chooses the latter option, and since he was alive for sixteen years and a hundred and seventeen days previously, all of his past memories are locked away until his hundred and eighteenth day of his sixteenth year of his new life.
  • Reincarnated as a Non-Humanoid: Bradley used to be human but after death he's now heroic Pegasus (well Avian) Flash Sentry.
  • Screams Like a Little Girl: Flash apparently has a girly scream. When Team Relic reunites in the labyrinth, having heard Flash's scream as he slid into the room, Trixie and Wallflower thought it came from Luna while Soarin and Springer thought it was one of the girls. Flash is quick to try to change the subject without telling them.
  • Shout-Out:
  • Story Arc:
    • Beginning Arc: 1-5
    • Luna Arc: 6-11
    • School Festival Arc: 12
  • Take That!: The Royal Guard are described as a bunch of useless Adventurer washouts that Celestia had felt sorry for and gave them positions near her to make them think they still had a purpose. This is a take at the Royal Guard's infamous reputation for being a Red Shirt Army in canon.
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?:
    • Wallflower reveals in "Lakeside Adventure, as a Pony", that she has a fear of water. More specifically she fear being submerged in deep water, due to a scary moment when she accidentally fell in a river when she was four, and was under for a few seconds before her grandfather pulled her out.
    • The girls are absolutely terrified when they encounter slimes as slimes dissolve their clothes, leaving them naked.
