My Little Pirates: Luffy's Adventures in Equestria is a story written by Fullmetal Pony that is found on Fimfiction. Like its name implies, the story is a crossover between One Piece and My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic, with the story taking place at some point during Season 3 and what was supposed to be the Amazon Lily arc. The major difference in the crossover is that Boa Hancock and the characters of Amazon Lily do not exist. Instead of that, Equestria takes place as the setting for Amazon Lily and Princess Celestia replaces Hancock as one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea. After Luffy is transported into Equestria, he begins to have many misadventures, which ultimately bring him to Impel Down on a quest to save his brother Ace from being executed.

A small side story featuring Trafalgar Law named My Little Pirates: Doctor's Orders focuses on his misadventures in Equestria after the Battle of Marineford.

My Little Pirates: Luffy's Adventures in Equestria provides examples of:

  • Action Girl: Celestia, Luna, and the Mane Six.
  • Adapted Out: Boa Hancock or any other characters from Amazon Lily never existed in the universe of this story.
  • An Arm and a Leg: Ace suffers this due to the damage he suffered against Akainu.
    • Celestia loses a hind leg during a fight with Blackbeard.
  • Animorphism: Inverted with Celestia and Chrysalis, who are ponies (or a look alike in Chrysalis' case) that can turn into humans. Their fighting style is similar to all Zoan Devil Fruit users as they can use magic to summon their wings to fly or turn back their limbs to their original equine shape for devastating hits.
  • And the Adventure Continues: There is a two year Time Skip that correlates with the one that happens in canon, at which point Luffy reunites with the rest of the Straw Hats while the Mane Six decide to give piracy a try as the Harmony Pirates.
  • Awesome, but Impractical:
    • Star Swirl's final spell is more awesome in comparison to its canon counterpart, but it has its disadvantages. Star Swirl created it to use the full power of the Elements of Harmony, except that he didn't embody the virtues of any of them so he was stuck with a useless spell.
    • Celestia successfully used the spell after Luna's banishment to use the Elements against Tirek. However, it cut her connection to the Elements forever and she took years to recuperate from the strain of using it.
    • Twilight uses it again during the fight with Tirek. It gives her a Super Mode that temporarily makes her an alicorn and allows her to fight on par with a weakened Tirek. Unfortunately, it has a time limit and the canonical "Freaky Friday" Flip kicks in as Twilight's friends continue to fight on her stead.
  • Badass Pacifist: Unlike her fellow Warlords, Celestia is appalled by the Battle of Marineford, making it her mission to end the battle as soon as she helps Luffy get Ace safe and sound. At one point, she uses Conqueror Haki to knock out Marines and pirates alike as a way to subdue them without hurting them. However, strong willed pirates and dangerous enemies turn her into...
    • Martial Pacifist: She uses human martial arts augmented with hooves, magic, and Haki to pummel every opponent that she sees into submission should they prove to be a threat to her.
  • Beat Them at Their Own Game: Discord tries this with Luffy. Subverted in that although Discord held his own and caused Luffy to faint by the end of the fight, he was still defeated due to Luffy having more skill and experience with his powers and as a fighter.
  • Being Tortured Makes You Evil: It wasn't envy at her sister that caused Nightmare Moon to exist. It was Luna's trauma and hatred towards humanity that was induced in her due to her torture by the Celestial Dragons that led to her transformation.
  • Berserk Button: Celestia is NOT fond of pirates. To a minor extent, she is not fond of Crocodile.
  • Big Sister Instinct: Celestia had this when Luna disappeared and she traveled to the Grand Line to save her.
  • Born Winner: Out of the Mane Six, it is revealed that Fluttershy has the most talent in Haki. She already has Observation Haki and her Stare is actually Conqueror Haki...and this is before Luna started her Training from Hell.
  • Combat Pragmatist: Not only the pirates of the Grand Line are this, but some of the ponies as well when push comes to shove.
    • Celestia does not hesitate to approach her enemies silently with stealth or pacific behavior before shifting her human leg into her pony leg and kick them when they are not expecting it, as Crocodile and a random Whitebeard pirate can assure. She also did not hesitate to give Chrysalis a No-Holds-Barred Beatdown when she was distracted in the middle of their fight.
    • The Mane Six don't hesitate to use the Elements of Harmony on Discord and Blaze once they were beaten by Luffy.
    • As expected from Chrysalis, she won't hesitate to attack Celestia while she is distracted, use her Vampiric Draining in random fighters to power up every time Celestia has her on the ropes, or send her Changeling soldiers to gang up on Celestia.
  • Crazy-Prepared: Celestia has seastone cuffs to prevent Ace from using his powers, knowing that he is going to try to leave Equestria to reunite with the Whitebeard Pirates.
  • Curbstomp Battle: Discord delivered hundreds of these to Celestia and Luna before they finally returned the favor with the Elements of Harmony.
  • Dark Action Girl: Chrysalis
  • Death Glare: Fluttershy's Stare. It is revealed that she is releasing Conqueror Haki when she uses it, hence why she can intimidate dangerous enemies in spite of her shy nature.
  • The Dreaded: Discord is this to Celestia, even mentioning that she never hit him in her entire life. Tirek is much worse after he escapes Tartarus.
  • Dream Weaver: Luna can still do this as per canon. It becomes a focal point in the Mane Six (sans Twilight)'s Training from Hell since Luna's control allows her to summarize years of training in a few hours of sleep. Thanks to that, the girls learn Haki just in time to defend Equestrian from Tirek.
  • Facepalm of Doom: Celestia uses an enhanced version of this attack with The Power of the Sun twice on Chrysalis. It doesn't kill her but it hurts her a lot.
  • Faking the Dead: Ace manages to get saved at Marineford but Celestia has to deceive everyone there by making it seem like she killed him with her magic.
  • Foolish Sibling, Responsible Sibling: In the past, Celestia was the responsible sibling decided to rule Equestria after Discord's defeat. Meanwhile, Luna was the foolish sibling as she decided to travel to the Grand Line to be a pirate. Deconstructed as Luna was eventually captured and turned into a slave for the Celestial Dragons, who tortured her. The trauma was enough to turn her into Nightmare Moon shortly after being rescued.
  • Forced Transformation:
    • Every human character who travels to Equestria will be turned into a pony, unable to recover their original form until they get out of Equestria's borders. Ponies are not affected when they visit the Grand Line though.
    • Trixie suffers from this thanks to Tirek.
  • Glamour Failure: Both Celestia and Chrysalis partially revert to their original forms every time their human forms take damage. By the time Celestia is winning her fight, she is literally beating the human form out of Chrysalis.
  • The Heart: Out of the Warlords, Celestia is the ONLY one who disapproves of the execution and the imminent fight with Whitebeard due to the repercussions the war was going to cause as well as the only one who is apalled with the battle, being visually disgusted when her fellow Warlords enjoy it a little too much. She makes it her mission to stop the fight once she manages to help Luffy save Ace. She nearly threw away her plan to discreetly save Ace and was about to stop the execution herself out of sheer disgust upon finding out that Ace's sin was just being born as Rogers's son.
  • The Heavy: Celestia is this to Luffy during the Battle if Marineford, as she was not only the one who got Luffy in Impel Down in the first place, but it was her victory over Chrysalis that led to the Changeling Queen and Trixie to help Ace escape. She also destroyed a Pacifista with one kick before it had the chance of attacking Luffy. And it was her Faking the Dead of Ace that ultimately made the mission a success.
  • Heroic Second Wind: Celestia gets one during the Battle of Marineford after Chrysalis had her Changelings drain her of her love. Once she recovers, she delivers a brutal No-Holds-Barred Beatdown to Chrysalis, finally defeating her.
  • Hero of Another Story: Law is the protagonist of the side story.
    • The Set Adrift chapters, which are non-canon stories that detail what would have happened in Equestria if ANY of the other Straw Hat crew members had arrived there instead of Luffy. Out of all of them, Sanji is the one who has his only Recursive Fanfiction.
  • Idiot Hero: Luffy, as always.
  • In Spite of a Nail: Ace dies in Equestria by the hands (er... hooves) of Doflamingo
  • Ki Manipulation: Haki is introduced and properly explained earlier than in the original anime. Celestia and Luna both learned all three forms of Haki during their travels in the Grand Line. The Mane Six also showed potential to learn it and they get a chance when both princesses decide to give them a Training from Hell to prepare them against Tirek.
    • Celestia's mastery of Haki is shown many times in the story. She has Twilight attack her with magic blasts that she immediately dodged with Observation Haki, used Conqueror Haki to knock out Marines and Pirates alike without hurting them and it is hinted that she used Armament Haki in order to kick Crocodile and knock him out in one blow despite his Devil Fruit powers.
    • Luna was chose to teach Haki to the Mane Six sans Twilight. She demonstrated Conqueror Haki when training Fluttershy and it is obvious that her mastery is legitimate given how the girls are progressing with their Haki development.
  • Let's Get Dangerous!: Twilight decides to do this when she is the last one of her friends to remain in the fight with Tirek. She uses the Elements of Harmony and Star Swirl's spell to become an alicorn and engage Tirek in a final fight.
  • Locked Out of the Loop: Ace doesn't know that Whitebeard is dead. Similarly, besides Marco, none of the Whitebeard Pirates knows that Ace is alive. Celestia pretty much starts this loop to prevent the world from finding out about her role in saving Ace's life, which will endanger Equestria if the World Government finds out about it.
  • Magical Girl Warrior: Celestia and Chrysalis fit this trope during the Battle of Marineford.
    • Elemental Punch: Both of them use solar or green fire in some of their physical attacks. Celestia even incorporates this into a slap to knock out Whitebeard pirates that were strong enough to take on her Conqueror Haki and not faint.
    • Full-Contact Magic: Excluding their transformations to their true forms, Celestia and Chrysalis can use magic with hand gestures and physical strikes. Celestia has also used this for Mundane Utility, such as gathering moisture in the air to turn it into drinking water.
    • Kung-Fu Wizard: Both of them fight with hand to hand combat as much as they use their magic. Celestia justifies this as she found the fighting approach as suitable for distractions while preparing Ace's rescue.
    • Magic Knight: They are both skilled with swords, even channeling some spells with their blades.
    • Partial Transformation: when fighting hand-to-hand, they transform their limbs back into their original equine shapes to increase striking damage.
    • Winged Humanoid: Both of them have the ability to recover their wings in order to fly in human form.
  • No-Holds-Barred Beatdown: Luffy defeats Discord with one of these, knocking him out long enough for the Mane Six to arrive with the Elements and turn him to stone.
    • At the Battle of Marineford, Celestia and Chrysalis exchange this at different points in their fight. By the end of the fight, Celestia delivers a second one powerful enough to defeat Chrysalis.
  • No-Nonsense Nemesis: Unlike Discord, Celestia does not mess around, preferring to go all out and being a Combat Pragmatist. Back in Equestria, when she becomes Blaze, she fares better against Luffy than Discord did, in spite of being weaker than him. It takes the combined efforts of Luffy AND Luna before she gets purified by the Mane Six. Similarly, in Marineford, Celestia went all-out on Chrysalis, engaging her in a brutal fight, even giving her a No-Holds-Barred Beatdown when she got distracted in the middle of their fight. When she defeats Crocodile, she does it by taking him by surprise, approaching him without killing intent until she was close enough to take him out.
  • Non Sequitur, *Thud*: Happens to Twilight after Luffy shatters her magic shield in chapter 2.
  • The Power of the Sun: Celestia is capable of creating magic stars of plasma during her fight with Chrysalis.
  • Pragmatic Adaptation: To make up for Hancock and Amazon Lily's abscence, Celestia was given Hancock's role in the story as a Warlord and as an ally to Luffy in rescuing Ace from his execution. Hancock's crush on Luffy is given to Luna though.
  • Sequel Hook: Luffy reunites with the Straw Hats and promises to meet the Mane Six again now that they are all pirates that will go on adventures and will very likely meet him very soon. Meanwhile, Doflamingo is in possession of Ace's Flare Flare Fruit and has Sunset Shimmer as a member of his crew, who now has a grudge against the Harmony Pirates. Meanwhile, Chrysalis and Crocodile are still at large and probably carrying a grudge against Celestia for their encounter in Marineford.
  • Sitcom Archnemesis: Celestia is not on good terms with Crocodile, getting angry upon seeing that he escaped Impel Down and was fighting at the Battle of Marineford. She even goes as far as to attack him by surprise with little to no provocation from his part. Given that Crocodile is now partnered with Chrysalis, it can be assumed that he is probably waiting for a chance to pay her back.
  • Spared by the Adaptation: Ace survives the incident in Marineford thanks to Chrysalis stopping Akainu from killing him and Celestia Faking the Dead for him. Subverted in that he dies in the next story arc after Tirek's defeat when Doflamingo puts him into a Sadistic Choice that involves him sacrificing his life to protect Luffy from him.
  • Superpowered Evil Side: Nightmare Moon was this to Luna just as much as Blaze became this to Celestia due to Luffy's presence hurting Luna due to her trauma with pirates.
    • Flutterbat is this to Fluttershy, given Tirek more damage than Celestial and Luna gave him during the fight at Canterlot.
  • Token Good Teammate: Celestia, Jinbei, and Kuma. Celestia is this in account of being The Heart of the Warlords, Jinbei is this for sacrificing his title of Warlord to protect Ace, which led to his imprisonment. Similarly, Kuma sent Luffy to Equestria to make him stronger, even delivering a message to Celestia during their meeting to apologize for sending Luffy there as well as instructions to send him with Rayleigh if she didn't want Luffy in her domain.
  • Took a Level in Badass: The Mane Six decide to learn Haki from Celestia and Luna. It shows during the fight with Tirek, particularly with Fluttershy, who displays the most progress. Twilight initially displays the least amount of leveling up...at least until she becomes the last one standing between the Mane Six and a weakened yet still determined Tirek, at which point she uses Star Swirl's spell and the Elements of Harmony to turn into an alicorn.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Luffy still loves meat, even as a pony. Twilight mentioning this in a letter is what alerts Celestia of his true identity, as well as Luna when he meets him, leading to her having a panic attack upon remembering her time with the humans.
  • Training from Hell: The Mane Six are forced to take this after Celestia informs them about Tirek's escape. Luna takes Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Fluttershy, and Pinkie Pie to an abandoned island filled with dangerous beasts in order to help them develop their Haki. It pays off well once they use it to protect Canterlot from an invasion by Tirek and his monsters. They even managed to do better than Twilight, who spent days training with Celestia.
  • Underestimating Badassery: Discord's first defeat was caused by him underestimating Celestia and Luna when they confronted him with the Elements of Harmony. It later leads to Luffy defeating him in spite of Discord being much more powerful than him. By the time he wakes up, the Mane Six immediately petrify him.
  • Unskilled, but Strong: Discord is insanely strong, to the point on which Celestia and Luna were never able to beat him together until they obtained the Elements of Harmony. However, in comparison to them in skill, he is a lousy fighter as Luffy was able to defeat him. The fact that Celestia did better than him in a fight against Luffy AND Luna during her brief time as Blaze and her ability to defeat Luffy's biggest threats in one blow (a Pacifista and Crocodile) shows that if it weren't for Discord's power and the Elements being his only weakness, Celestia would have defeated him on her own very easily.
  • Vampiric Draining: Chrysalis and her Changelings do this for feeding. Chrysalis uses this in battle to power herself up against Celestia, each time the Warlord is getting the upper hand on her.
  • Villains Want Mercy: Chrysalis is quick to beg mercy once Celestia finally defeats her at the Battle of Marineford. She gets spared as long as she takes Luffy's form to distract Garp long enough for Trixie to release him.
  • Voluntary Shapeshifting: Ponies are incapable of taking human form when they leave Equestria. As such, they need to use magic to adopt a human form. Celestia uses her magic to take on a human appearance during her time at Marineford. She can actually undo her transformation when she punches or kicks to increase the damage of her attacks or recover her wings to fly.
    • Being a Changeling, Chrysalis not only has this abily by default but she can also use it to take human form.
  • The Worf Effect: Celestia and Luna suffer this in order to highlight that even they can be beaten. Luna was somehow captured in spite of her powers as an alicorn and possibly knowing Haki at the time while Celestia is forced to joining the Warlords after an Admiral defeats her in combat.
  • Worf Had the Flu: Celestia held back against Chrysalis in her previous fight with her to avoid hurting her subjects. Now in Marineford, Celestia is more than happy to go all out this time.
  • Year Inside, Hour Outside: This is pretty much the basis of Luna's Training from Hell for the girls. Since Haki is a spiritual rather than a physical technique, she pretty much has the girl surviving an island full of dangerous creatures for a year in order to develop Haki when in reality they're just sleeping for a few hours. She and Celestia used this method of training to fight Discord, albeit unsuccessfully. Fortunately, it works perfectly for the girls when fending off Tirek's monsters.
