The Mitraka Series is a series of fix-it fanfics written by Systlin.

A goddess of mercy hears a plea for justice, and sends her champion to a world with neither mercy or justice. The stories follow a warrior Queen by the name of Systlin (Note: the author named herself after the character) as she is thrown into various stories by the goddess of life and mercy known only as The Lady, allowed to leave only once all the hurt has been undone, or until she embraces her powers and makes her own way home.

Systlin is a character from the author's as of yet unreleased series Lady of Ice and Iron. The series takes place after the main story, and started largely as an exercise in catharsis after a friend paid the author twenty dollars to read the Gor series.

The Mitraka series contains the following works:

Lightning From A Clear Sky: The first story sees Systlin transported to Gor. Very unimpressed by the behavior of the locals, she and her husband Foicatch campaign across the planet to break the chains of the enslaved and free the planet once and for all.

A Crossing of Fires: After being transported to Gor, Systlin and Foicatch wake up in Westeros, alongside Sura, Queen of the Sands and Systlin's wife. They know very well how to play the game of thrones, but none will like the way that they play it.

Smoke and Summer Ice: Some years after their misadventures in Gor and Westeros, Systlin and her spouses awake in a blizzard in The Blue Mountains, near Kaer Morhen. Joining them is Stellead, the queen's Master of Arms and Aunt.

Hand Upon The Strands of Fate: In the middle of a meeting of the Jedi Council, four figures spontaneously appear. No new characters are introduced upon the opening of this story, however it is clear that this is a temporary departure, as Systlin is quickly revealed to be pregnant.

Confession's End: Three years after their latest adventure, Systlin, her spouses, aunt, and now High Commander Elias of the Bloodguard find themselves dropped into a portion of the underworld being used to wall off part of the living world.

The Dragon Age Ends: A reluctant elven Inquisitor suddenly finds several new allies on her hands. This includes Versina, Systlin's younger sister, and the Lady herself, who Sys decided didn't get to just dump them somewhere unknown without pitching in to help this time.

The Mitraka Series provides examples of:

  • The Ace:
    • Systlin and her companions are all warriors that far outclass those that they encounter on their involuntary travels, thanks to their longer lifespans keeping them in prime fighting shape and access to "the best true-healer north of Sielauk" to ensure that their vigorous training does not damage their bodies.
    • Systlin herself. Long years of training have left her the finest warrior in her homeland of Ellinon, of which she is ruler of the Northern Realms. By all accounts, she began to learn to rule around the same time she learned to walk and talk, and became not only a sharp Queen, but a charismatic leader and shrewd tactician. Not only that, but she is the only known Breaker to have mastered their powers, avoiding going on a deadly rampage through willpower alone.
    • Foicatch is no slouch either. Son of a carpenter who left the smithy he was apprenticed to for the town guard, working his way up until he was accepted into the Bloodguard, guards of the royal family and widely known to be the finest warriors in the land. Even before The Lady elevates him to the role of a minor god he is one of the most powerful water witches alive. A talent he can use for both practical purposes such as sailing, or more deadly, such as pulling the blood out of an opponent's body. He is also noted to be a remarkably good blacksmith, though he never cared to progress beyond journeyman status.
    • Strange though it may seem upon first glance, Sura is often called the most dangerous one of the group. Her ability to speak with and understand animals gives her a massive advantage in any situation that requires a spy, and it is noted several times that humans are animals too. Though she cannot charm people directly, she has an uncanny insight into their thoughts and motivations that can put her in control of any situation she cares to be. She is also an expert horsewoman, having grown up in a nomadic tribe that put great value on such things. Her skill with a spear outclasses The Red Viper of Dorne.
  • Adopted into Royalty: Arden joins the royal family of the Northern Lands when Foicatch and Systlin adopt him. Though we are yet to see any formal process or agreement between the characters, they refer to him as their son.
  • Angel Unaware: Used as a test of character by Odin. The protagonists pass, but we meet someone that didn't.
  • Assassin Outclassin': Not that it's particularly difficult, given that the Gorean idea of an assassin is someone who dresses all in black, paints a dagger on his face, walks right up to his target's front door, and demands to be allowed in so he can kill his target in a Duel to the Death. After Systlin takes out the first one (who was initially stymied by her guards refusing to open the gate), she pays the local guild hall a visit later that evening to show them how a proper assassin operates.
  • Body Guard Crush: Notably a common thing for the women of the Stellas line. Systlin may have been the first to marry one of her Bloodguard, but there are plenty of Queens throughout history who never married but gave birth to heirs that everyone pretends were fathered by a secret noble lover instead of the very attentive bodyguard at her side.
  • Bodyguarding a Badass: Systlin doesn't really need Foicatch to protect her. But oaths are oaths, and he'd be bored otherwise.
  • Crossover Cosmology: As the conquest of Gor develops, the Norse Pantheon, Odin particularly start to take an interest in events. Additionally, The Force and Chaos exist even if no one outside their respective home settings seems able to use them.
  • Friend to All Children: Foicatch has a habit of going mushy over children. According to his wife, they'd have a dozen if he had his way, but she never got that glow her mother promised.
    • He brings home Arden during the campaign on Gor, just about adopting him on sight.
    • Foicatch can't hide his happiness when introduced to The Sand Snakes, and is noted to be friendly towards the youngest of their number. The news that Tywin Lannister didn't even spare the children and babies at Castamere just about drives him over the edge into pure rage.
    • When Systlin is revealed to be pregnant with twins in Hand Upon The Strings of Fate, he can't keep himself from cooing over the scans.
  • God's Hands Are Tied: The Lady would fix the problems of these worlds herself, but as a Goddess of Life she cannot kill. Her reluctant sister on the other hand...
  • Good Taming, Evil Taming: The Panther Warriors are very dismissive of the way the men of Gor treat their tarns (Giant rideable hawks), and use treats to train them instead of trying to beat them into submission. Notably, their birds try to eat their riders far less frequently because of it.
  • Happily Adopted: Arden, a teenager rescued from slavery in a salt mine on Gor, is adopted near instantly by Foicatch and Systlin.
  • Heir Club for Men: Causes much confusion when the trio arrives on Westeros, as Ellinon's system is much more egalitarian.
  • Hidden Supplies: After the first two times Systlin and those close to her got pulled into another world without warning, Foicatch decided to ensure that the next time it happened, they would have more resources than just their pocket change to start out with. To that end, he helped himself to a few boxes of small, loose gems from the treasury and sewed them into the hems of all of his and Systlin's cloaks and tunics.
  • Hot Consort: Foicatch plays this role, reminding anyone that believes that being the King means that he's the one in charge that as King Consort his job is to "look pretty, keep her bed warm, chuck anyone who tries to kill her headfirst out a window, and father heirs as required."
  • Incredibly Inconvenient Deity: The Lady seems to take pleasure in causing trouble for Systlin, dropping her on worlds filled with slavers, in the middle of a blizzard, or while she is pregnant without so much as a warning.
  • Modest Royalty: While Systlin is a Queen, spending much of her life on the battlefield has given her practical tastes. Mirrored by the crown her family wears, made not of gold but of iron with a single star ruby in the center.
    • Sura, being of a nomadic people, also favours practical clothes that she can ride a horse in.
  • Oh, My Gods!: The most common curses on Ellinon seem to be "Fucking Pits" and "Lady's Tits".
  • Outside-Context Problem: The premise of the whole series. No one was expecting a woman that can break things with her mind to show up.
  • Rage Against the Heavens: Every story opens with this. Systlin doesn't appreciate being torn from her life to do the grueling work of fixing yet another planet. The Lady is more amused than anything.
  • Royal Inbreeding: Averted. The Stellas family finds that having a child with a commoner every few generations increases the genetic diversity of the whole noble class. Systlin spends time dry heaving after reading about the Targaryens.
  • Royals Who Actually Do Something: Systlin is first dropped into another world when going out to hunt wraithen. Dangerous pests in her homeland. She also balances tax rolls for fun, much to Petyr Baelish's horror.
  • Ruler Protagonist
  • Slave Liberation: The premise of the first story is a Type 3 example of this. It is noted that while Systlin could easily conquer the planet on her own, her victory will be easily overturned in the long run if those enslaved don't take their freedom for themselves.
  • Slavery Is a Special Kind of Evil: There are three Great Laws once Systlin has passed through a land, all of which carry the death penalty if broken. Slavery is one of them.
  • Stop Worshipping Me: Systlin takes a skeptical view of her divinity at the best of times. Thoros The Red Priest's reaction to her powers over flame are particularly unnerving to her.
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech: An epic one towards the Priest Kings, the so-called gods of Gor.
Systlin: For all you seem to think you are better than people, you are incredible fucking fools. How long has this egg been out in the world? I don’t lay eggs. But even I know that eggs must be treated properly, or they will die. This thing has been being used as a chair for the gods only know how long, and knocking about in a Tuchuk wagon. Fuck only knows what happened to it before then. But you’re not so different. You are petty and crave power and fight amongst yourselves. Some of you killed your own eggs, to try and keep power for longer. I am a lot of things. I’ve been called cruel and vicious, and both of those things are true. But I’ve never killed a child, and I’m not going to start now.
Systlin slices open the egg, revealing the withered husk within.
This egg has been dead for a long time. If it had been alive, I’d spare it, and perhaps there would be hope that some of you could be raised with some form of empathy. But it isn’t, and I did not kill it. You did that. You were doomed before I ever set foot on this world, mighty Priest Kings, and by your own doing. Clearly, you are the superior and far more intelligent beings.
  • Villainous Breakdown: Matthew Cabot doesn't take the news of the force of destruction rolling over Gor like a thunderstorm well. Not surprising, given that he knows exactly what a Stellas Queen and Breaker is capable of, having originally been from Ellinon himself.
  • War God: As The Lady often reminds Systlin, she became the Goddess of War and Justice after killing the previous god to hold that title.
  • With Great Power Comes Great Insanity: "To look upon a Breaker is to look upon madness and death." Only two Breakers in Ellinon's history have managed to maintain their sanity: Systlin's many times great-grandfather, who made a Heroic Sacrifice fighting the Fallen One back, and Systlin herself. All the others went mad and had to be put down, at the cost of many lives.
