Fanfic / Metallix, Lilo and Stitch

Go To

Metallix, Lilo and Stitch is a Spin-Off of Freedom Fighters NEO by The Merger Magikoopa.

Metallix, Lilo and Stitch contains examples of (TBA):

  • Adaptational Attractiveness: Belle has a more realistically-proportioned body, not so different from Angel's. Jumba was dumbfounded (last time he checked, Belle had a far smaller body compared to her head), and Dr. Koopa assumed it's a side-effect of a Cosmic Retcon. Word of God stated he did this because he saw some good Self-Fanservice fanart of Belle.
  • Adaptational Explanation: The fact Terra sees good into Stitch is explained by an anti-Hämsterviel program that Jumba developed while creating Angel, but forgot to install it into her. When Stitch would meet Angel, the program would be uploaded into the latter, and if he'd fail, he'd be treated like an outcast by the other experiments. Of course, Rule of Romantic made everyone forget about this program when Stitch eventually meets Angel.
  • Adaptational Heroism:
  • Adaptational Intelligence: Terra appears wiser in his conversations (in spirit form) with Stitch. Justified by the fact Terra is the first person to treat Stitch as a person rather than a weapon or an abomination. Since Terra's depiction in his spirit encounters with Stitch is similar to his normal depiction (although he takes the form of the Lingering Will), it can be said this trope is just how Stitch sees Terra.
    • Several experiments speak more fluently in English (although not as fluently as, say, Reuben, Nosy or Bonnie):
      • Sparky is a prime example.
      • All Belle could do in the original series is to shriek. In this reboot, she fluently speaks Tantalog and is currently learning English.
      • Same goes to Yaarp, who could only blast his airhorn.
      • Felix no longer has a One-Word Vocabulary post redemption.
      • Speaking of One-Word Vocabulary, 627 is the only one who averts the Adaptational Intelligence trope, but only because he and Leroy are the only ones to not pull a Heel–Face Turn.
  • Adaptational Personality Change: Most major experiments who don't speak English are given this trope. For instance, Belle had no personality in the original series, but in this series, she's portrayed as being shy, and rather easy to scare (justified given how her primary function is to shriek). She's got somewhat braver post-retrieval. (Word of God states that she saw how determined Yaarp was to protect her from Sonic.EXE and she wanted to learn how to fight because of that.)
  • Aliens Speaking English: Of course, since the Lilo & Stitch franchise revolves around aliens.
  • Alternate History: Played With. Although the history itself is nearly identical to the original series (the only notable change is that the plot of the original movie is kickstarted by Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep), the episodes are in a different order. Word of God states this new order is for the sake of Character Development... and Stitch and Angel receiving more romantic moments.
  • An Aesop:
Terra: "No matter how impossible things seem...a powerful enough dream will always be enough to light the darkness."
  • Ascended Extra: A large number of characters fall under this trope, at least compared to the original series. Such characters include (in order of their creation) Felix, Sparky, Belle, Ace, Yaarp and Angel. (Felix, Sparky and Angel only fall under this trope compared to the original series, due to them falling under this trope in the anime, and Sparky appearing in Kingdom Hearts.) All these experiments become major characters following their debut. (Although Angel was captured in her debut episode, "Snafu" takes place only three episodes later, and she becomes an important motive in the two episodes between "Angel" and "Snafu".)
    • Sparky literally appears in every episode whose plot doesn't take place at night (he only has to work the nightshift at the lighthouse).
      • Sparky does appear in "Ploot" in the original series, but he didn't fight Ploot, while he does fight Ploot in the remake, mostly because he was blaming Ploot for making Stitch eat trash.
    • Ace, post-activation, often appears when someone's screaming. It mostly became a Running Gag, as he always assumes the screams are there because someone needs help, although it's not always the case.
    • Belle and Angel live with the titular duo of the original series. Although Belle only does because she's Nani's alarm clock. Angel has a deeper motive to live with the franchise's titular duo, being Stitch's Love Interest. For this reason, the two (and Yaarp, see Relationship Upgrade below why him as well) appear in every episode since Belle's debut and Angel's rescue.
  • Broken Aesop:
    • ʻOhana means family, and family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten, but Lilo did leave several experiments behind. Word of God stated this did piss off Dr. Koopa and Metallix, until Angel's capture turned out to be the last straw for Metallix.
    • In "Frenchfry", the Aesop is that it's important to eat healthy, but Dr. Koopa keeps babbling on how Nani can't prevent him from eating burgers, which he justifies by reminding everyone of his princiary status. Furthermore, he also states "All food is healthier when homemade", which is contradicted by Frenchfry, who makes homemade food, but it's extremely unhealthy.
  • Brother–Sister Incest: Discussed by Word of God. However, it's averted overall, and it ultimately it's about Kissing Cousins.
  • Kissing Cousins: Remember, this is Lilo & Stitch we're talking about. Various experiments have a romantic interest to each other, but they all call each other "cousins". Not to mention the fact some fans might see this as Brother–Sister Incest because they have the same creator. Word of God stated this trope isn't a problem, however, since cousin marriage is legal in Hawaii.
  • Culture Clash: In regards of Kissing Cousins: first of all, Lilo states that, in Hawaii, people call each other "cousins" because the entire community is one big ʻohana; secondly, cousin marriage is legal in Hawaii; thirdly, according to Word of God, the experiments only think they're cousins because the first thing Stitch does to bond with them is to call them "cousins", which overlaps with what Lilo stated about ʻohana.
  • Princess Phase: In "Spooky", aside from the obvious enforce of this trope on Mertle's part, Angel plays it straight: she disguises herself as a princess, and even convinced Stitch to dress as a prince. Although, when Stitch's costume is ruined, Angel consoles Stitch by telling him he always was her Prince Charming, ever since she realized she actually had feelings for him.
  • Relationship Upgrade:
    • Yin and Yang had Ship Tease moments in the original series (most notably, their Meet Cute moment from their debut episode), but in this adaptation, they're outright dating.
    • Yaarp and Belle become a couple in this adaptation, and boy, do they get along!
  • Shipper on Deck: Check Freedom Fighters NEO for examples.
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Metallix gives one to Lilo of all people. It's mostly a callout for being rather cruel to several experiments.
    Metallix(Dope Slaps Lilo)
Dr. Koopa: "What the fuck, Metallix?! You were supposed to apologize!"
    Metallix: "Apologize?! What about ʻohana?!"
    Dr. Koopa: "What about it?"
Metallix: "Have you all forgotten?! ʻOhana means family, family means..."
Lilo: "No one gets left behind or forgotten. So?"
Metallix: "SO! You forgot about Fibber, Hammerface, Fudgy, Stamen, Nosox, Poxy, Tickle-Tummy, Amnesio, Slimy, Thresher, Zap, Heat and Plasmoid! You left Nosy, Hunkahunka, Tank and Angel behind! And it is at Angel when you crossed the line!"
Lilo: "It's not MY fault Gantu captured them!"
Metallix: "Oh, sure, Fudgy, Stamen, Nosox, Tickle-Tummy, Slimy and Zap were captured by 627, and Gantu found the pods for Hammerface, Tresher, Heat and Plasmoid himself. But Fibber, Nosy, Poxy, Amnesio, Hunkahunka, Tank and Angel are all on you, YOU FUCKING LIAR!"
  • Unstoppable Rage:
    • Metallix, when Angel was captured. He only calmed down completely when she was rescued.
    • Sparky, when Ploot poisoned 13 of his cousins.
